You know, I think it is a dangerous disposition to compartmentalize bboying into “musical / artsy” style and “acrobatics / athleticism”. It is ALL dance. Therefore, it is an “art form” in itself. You don’t need to do certain moves to be validated as a “dancer” or an “expression of a music through dance”. It is personal responsibility of a dancer to show the music in a way that it is understood by those who saw it. You either failed or not. But it is also responsibility of a viewer to be self-aware enough to recognize the music in a move patterns that are alien to his own soul. It is easy to pick your tribe and ostracize another.
