Wow! What an impressive video. Not only is this the best video I've ever seen on a no build vans, but equally impressive was Bunny's vivacious personality. She is so well spoken, that she has the voice and talent to be a pitch person for any product in the world. I was captivated the entire time of the video. I cannot remember the last a video held my complete attention for the duration of it. Oh, I forgot to mention all the great ideas I got from her. Fun and educational!
Thank you sooooo much!!! Such a Wonderful compliment I appreciate your kind words!!!! Really enjoyed sharing my van adventures and journey thus far and glad to see you enjoyed it!!!!! More to come!!!
No screws, no nails, no cut wood! One of the most creative and pleasing "builds" I've seen in a while. I don't see why you'd ever have to fill it up with more stuff. Rock on!
Since being in the space more I have made some upgrades.. but I did them confidently as a result of being in the van for so long without all the extras. I think finding your space is so important and then making it your own more permanent space so you can truly be able to enjoy it long term!
@@MaryNAdam Typically whenever I travel I try to travel with the weather the insulation does it become near as much of a problem when you do that. I have various methods that I have since added to my van to keep me either warmer or cooler depending on where I am should I be passing through some of those zones that are exactly the most friendly. I think it’s all about how you perceive and make your situation. Well insulation is a great thing it also takes up a lot of valuable real estate within such a small van. It does make it a little bit more of a choice to have or not have it then it would in a larger unit. For me it works out pretty well right now.
How many outfit you carry with you?, By the way you have a beautiful make up, I used to be a makeup consultant over 30 years ago, but your shadows make up is beautiful.
It really depends.. I always can make room for more outfits lol.... I pack carefully and thoughtfully and when in doubt I bring an extra duffle bag filled with things which can sit in the rear by my doors. I really try to pack so I don't have to do laundry all the time while traveling and some times am gone for a pretty long amount of time. You are soooo sweet to have noticed my makeup!!! I love it and it is something that is my behind the scenes passion... I like to have a cute look and love trying new colors especially when I have something fun and special going on.
I did that for a long time and found myself in terrible health as a result of constant stress. Life is supposed to be about more than just clocking in and out so now I spend my time much more productively adventuring!!!
I have been living a no van build minivan life for the past 13 years. Have everything I need inside. Looks like you have a nice personality and love the hair.
Thank you sooo much!!!! I am loving my van although I am making a few upgrades for long term off grid stay... I have a video coming Saturday about one of those things which I think is possibly one of the biggest improvements for my power overall :)
Hi Bunny, over the last 2 years i have been planning a very similar no build to travel while i still can. I am a 66 yo widow who is currently caring for 90 yo dad with dementia. have checked out hundreds of no builds but yours has so far been the only one that has come close to my Idea. Thank you so much for info but also for your lovely outlook and generosity in showing this. Julie in Australia.
Thank you so much for your amazing words!!! I am so glad that the video touched home with your ideas and thoughts on what you would like to do with your own build. My goal with sharing my story and how I have achieved it has always been to serve as a resource for others in hopes of helping others find their own unique ways to adventure!! I hope you grasp onto your plans and make it happen!!
im insulating my van but putting the plastic walls back up its a money thing lol thank you for the video so tired of watching videos where ppl are lime you gotta build it out bla bla its so nice to no there are ppl like you that reassire us new vanlifers that its ok if you dont or cant buildout right away ill be watching you and your refreshing videos thank you thank you Ellen nyc....
Thanks for checking out the video!!! I really do think that it’s important to find things that work for us all personally and that sometimes takes time to figure out!! Love that you are taking it at your pace, never let the glamorous side of UA-cam van builds discourage you. Since filming this I have made a few more purchases as I can which I will share with everyone soon!! I think that doing it this was has allowed me to still have adventure without stress of perfection, something that is highly unrealistic.
I needed something which would make digging around under the bed a bit easier.. when they were detached I always felt like I was having to reach further under and it became hard... so zip ties were such an affordable solution!!... thanks for checking out the video!!
Thank you!!! I appreciate that more than you know!! I have spent the last couple of years working on trying to share my view of the world in my adventures and the camera tells the story so much better than my words ever could!!! Thanks for checking out the video and your amazing words!!!!
@@Darrick.DamitaJoBoy You got this!!! Vanlife is such an accessible thing when you move at your own pace and don’t let the details overwhelm you!!! Best of luck and hope you share your van journey with us all when you are ready to embark on your adventure!!!
@@kymjackson145 I met her in Tennessee on a trail and she told me about what she does and mentioned camping. But for some reason I always assumed she meant in an RV or something like that. I would have never assumed tent.
My nv200 is also a "no build" camper. Even at 6 ft tall, I can stretch out in the bed completely...but I wouldn't recommend any taller. Highly recommend a down quilt with a sewn-in footbox. My thermometer has recorded several nights just below freezing and I didn't even notice.
Good insight from someone a bit taller. Thank you for coming in on this also, I am a bit taller and would be interested in an overnight vehicle but height is always in question with comfort.
What great info to add in the comments. My husband and I were watching and trying to calculate how much space there is from the overhead shots and the interior shots. We would love to rent a van eventually so figuring out the proper size will be important.
I am six feet tall and can stretch fully out. If I fold the drive seat up I have a few inches to spare but more than 6, I agree would be tight. I use a down sleeping bag for the same reason as above. When I have shore power I have a small heater that heats such a small space quickly. Otherwise It's like a tent: get dressed quickly.
Just sold my RAM ProMaster City, but I can suggest to anyone pulling a cold night, go back to being a kid, and make a blanket fort. Rig some line the length of the bed directly over the left and right sides of the bed. Buy a fluffy style blanket (I got a good one at Walmart) that is full size and pass it up over one of the lines, then across and down the other side. You're making a tunnel that you'll sleep in, and ideally the blanket won't even touch you when sleeping, so once asleep you'll forget it's there. I was outside Yellowstone when it hit 36 degrees at night, but it was 60+ in my blanket tunnel from body heat alone. I do have floors, walls and ceiling insulated, but nothing for the doors on either side or the back. But doing a blanket fort like that makes the biggest difference, because it removes the discomfort of your face being cold since you can easily get a sleeping bag that will keep your body warm.
I'm so glad UA-cam suggested this video and your channel! Your personality is amazing and I'm glad there's someone else that has a no build build. I'm planning to do so once i graduate college. New subscriber❤️ - Jay
How exciting!!!! You will love it!! I have been soooo happy so far and as I have been finding things to add to the van I have been excited to share them. I will be doing so as I go so I hope my finds are also helpful!!!
It has been a wonderful solution to so many things. I started my channel in order to show affordable and economical travel options to encourage people to get out in adventure more no matter what their financial situation is. I am a firm believer that what you do with your life can greatly increase your quality as a whole. So the van kind of naturally fit into that! I do have some upgrades which will cost a bit more along the way however I know for a fact that they will be something that I will be using Now as opposed to before whenever I would’ve been blindly purchasing just because of FOMO. LOL. I think that’s the main thing that I learned from the snow build build is that you can add things as you go as opposed to having to have everything all up front and those things will be more meaningful and purposeful. Thank you so much for watching the video and I hope that you continue to do so as I share not only my van but adventures that I hope others will check out and maybe potentially go on!
I wanted it to be darker so it would be more stealth when first camping and getting used to it. I have some bright things coming for the upgrades!!! Just wait for it lol
I am not interested in the slightest in van dwelling but I am so invested in your channel as a whole that I just watched and I have to say I am intrigued. You have such a bright personality and it is so entertaining to watch your many adventures. I am happy I tuned in today. Be safe out there!
You know I was in a similar situation when I started watching because I was watching for the things she was showing. But now I am pretty intrigued as to how this works and how she makes it work when traveling. Like where does she stay, what does she do when people bother her? How does she stay safe?
I am looking to buy an NV200 from Sussex preconconverted. Not really handy enough to build on my own so I applaud you for what you are doing here until you determine what you are interested in. The models in the states do appear much different than the obese Sussex has to offer so the van is your canvas.
NICE!!! I watch a channel that has a Sussex camper van... have you checked out Ken and Carol? Life is Too Short.. I looove their channel and their van... they are such goals!!! In fact since watching them I have been in the endless pursuit of finding a ridgemonkey!!
Thanks for coming over and checking it out!! I will be sharing barista aspects of how it works out for me and the behind the scenes aspects so to speak including that aspect at some point. I have found a few things along the way which do need a bit of an upgrade for extended periods of back country. More power and ability to survive better with groceries.
@@mjp2palmtree thanks for coming over to check out the build!!! She was so amazing for posting the build and her wonderful words!!! Love her energy!!!!
Aww thank you!! She was amazing for recommending my video and I am so humbled and grateful!!! I am glad you enjoyed the video and van thus far on its journey. I share new travel related videos every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday on the channel with different aspects of travel from places to go and things to do to the meat and potatoes of how I do it through camping and my van which makes it all possible!
lol... how you ended that made me chuckle... which I think is good in the crazy world we currently live in! Thank you sooo much for checking out the video and the great words in regards to what I have been using!! And more so about my presentation... that means a lot to me.. I always have tried to just be me and so comments like that make me sooo happy to see that others enjoy that!!
Great people are hard to come by. You strike me as a unique person, on your own terms. I truely love that. I'm considering making this move. I should add need two knee replacements so on crutches. Not exactly a real marketable man. Even though attractive. Good soul though. Love the communication. Like the nv200 as far as no steps, just entry, easy on crutches. Be well my friend You got soul sista, rock it!
@@insectasaurusvanlife I think being authentic is an asset in todays world... sure that won't be for everyone but for those who can and are willing to be themselves without worrying about what others think, can truly experience the world. When we hide behind our insecurities and mask who we are even if we are living life and seeing things, we still are but a shell of who we truly are. But.... off my soapbox....lol... I think anyone who is looking to start a journey, be it in a van or RV or even through road trips with tent camping or hotel stays, is gearing up for something amazing in their lives. There is something to say about what you can find when you let yourself just explore and live in the moments without always making plans!
A lot more space in that little van than I expected. Hard to fathom how you have everything just looking at one of those from the outside. Looking forward to seeing your continued progress and changes. Good video Ranger Bunny.
Would you ever consider putting your other links in videos not just for the van? You have had some very cute leggings I wanted before. I don't know if that is possible or not but would love that.
Brilliant video! It really shows people that they do not need to buy a van and then spend more to get out there. It’s a perfect way to get to know the space and then plan something more permanent if you want. You can even do it over time as you get the money to do it. Great job and I hope you are enjoying it!
Thank you for checking out the video!! I have been really enjoying it and made many changes from the time I began til I filmed this video... little adjustments for personal comforts, nothing major.. but with the set up it made it easy to do so. I wouldn't change a thing with how I started this journey it has helped me really get an awareness of the small space and how I function in it. Some fun things are coming in the future so I hope you will come back to check out the progress!! :)
Finally getting to see your van! I love it! This is very attainable for everyone. I could easily convert my small SUV for camping when I am not able to tent camp. Thanks for the inspo.
I usually travel with the weather so rarely sleep anywhere it is hot. When I do I cool the van down with a breeze when it is day time and use my fan to circulate air. In the past I have also when tent camping used cool water bottles in my bed to keep me cooler... As I continue to evolve the van I have other things I will be adding to keep even more comfort....
Great to see your first tour young lady. The essentials are hard to determine when you are first starting out in a unit so this sounds like you really have been working to plan ahead to make your best financial choices for your build.
Agreed!! I was somewhat at an understanding with my travels preparing me for tent style camping the last few years but with the additional room it makes for some interesting new choices
this is a really smart build, when you are done with van life, you can easily remove all non stock items and sell the van to a wider audience that just wants a cargo van.
I will eventually be needing to do some additional measures for long term stay in the van. A roof vent for example will be necessary when making it better for 4 season use. That will take away its cargo only resale, but I purchased this with the intention of creating a safe space for me when I travel and that will be something I will continue doing for many years. But starting out that was one of my thoughts also if I decided it was not something I did think would have long term potential.
We enjoyed your little van very much. Glad to see you are thinking ahead by not just adding things to add them and instead letting things make sense. We travel in a large RV and find that we always are changing things we pack but we cannot change the layout or amenities. Originally we thought we would like some things which now that we have we never use.
Yes I would live to say it is all exactly how cute I want it to be with my personal touches but reality is that if I did that and hated it or couldn’t have everything I ultimately need it would be pointless.... sooo learning as I go is best
Really cool to see your set up finally. Makes a lot of sense to have something that you can do everything in when you travel as much as you seem to. Do you keep anything in your van for protection. I realize you wouldn't want to share where you keep it but I really hope you do. People are crazy out there.
OH I like your ideas and enthusiasm like the evolution process of trial and error. The editing and music at the beginning of video. Making use of what you have, like the cot. The under storage DT zip ties and containers. Use of your car battery. Keep us informed. Safe travels
Thank you sooo much for checking out the video... I have some very exciting things coming for both travel and continued progress within the van so I hope you will check those out as well. Typically on the channel I upload travel related content in hopes of helping others find things that are near them that they might be interested in doing in order to live life more fully... my van is for sure a HUGE part of that now that it has come into my life so sharing it will be something very special.
The toilet fact is very useful. I looked into some camping last season and with Covid noticed the same thing. I, being a person who tent camps was just out of luck so I sat most of the season. Thanks for sharing this.
I encountered this a bit when working in some of the areas of Colorado that I was sent this past year. A lot of the public facilities were not open, even dump stations.
Really nice. Love the video. I hope you keep doing videos on the actual van. Sometimes YTers go off to videos of other things. Also, could you please let us know how you ventilate the cargo living area with the privacy curtains closed and no windows? Thank you.
My channel has always been about the adventures I share with everyone hoping to encourage them to get out and enjoy life more fully. My van is my vessel for doing so and will be a part to the channel along the way. I hope to share how it has enabled me to affordably have the option to travel more freely and comfortably without breaking the bank :) I will be sharing more as the journey continues with new things I have in the van, how it enables me to travel economically and also the overall places I continue to go as a result
Thank you sooo much!! I have been waiting for a good time to introduce it officially and share how I had been using it thus far.. but looking forward to adding new content specific to how it enables me to find the adventures I find.... cannot wait!!
Thank you sooo much!!! I really enjoy sharing my adventures on my channel and wanted to include the method for how I am able to do them with the van which is an extension of adventure itself. Thanks for checking it out and the amazing words!!
I would love if you would link some of the other gear you have used and continue to use on the channel also either in this video or another. I would like to purchase some of those items and I know that if you leave a link you get a small commission so I would love to make sure you get that.
How do you ventilate allowing air to come inside as you use your fan to cool you down? I have an NV200 also (my profile picture). I have Max Air but I have to crack a front window and privacy then becomes an issue. I would have to use Max Fan to suck air out and allow little usb fan to cool me off. Then I have to worry about C.D. Thanks.
Currently ventilation has been something I have not done much for. I typically crack my windows a tiny bit to keep my carbon monoxide levels good and use usb fans to circulate. I will be looking to add a roof vent in the future and also have been looking into window rain deflectors which allow me to safely roll the window a bit more.
This is one of the areas which I am working toward finding the perfect solution for as I go.... thus far I have traveled with the weather to allow myself to stay cooler which helps but a more permanent solution is on the horizon
Welcome to the channel and thank you for checking it out... I am sooo honored that she shared my video from her amazing channel!! My channel is a bit different than most van channels because I started out as a tent camper and highlight the many things out there in the world for people to do. It was a mission of mine when I started out to share how you can find adventure and live an overall more fulfilling life through travel in hopes of encouraging others to try new things and get out there... my van has now become a member of the family in this pursuit. Enjoy the videos.. and don't judge harshly on the old old old ones... lol...
Thanks for the perfect timing of this video! I’m days away from (probably) purchasing a Nissan NV200 for travel and will not want to be doing a permanent build ... yet. Best of everything to you and perhaps someday we’ll meet on the road!
How exciting!!! I know if you are like me the days leading up to the purchase were the best and most nervous days...lol...I hope you will share what you do with yours as well!! I am glad my video came at the right time and can be helpful.. that is why I create all my videos to share experiences and ways of travel in hopes that they can help others find things that work with their lives.... :). imma do spirit fingers from a distance to celebrate with you your hop into van life!!! and yes...perhaps on the road!!
I have one and love it!! I haven't shared it in the build but I do carry it on every adventure. I use the mini squeeze adapter so I can filter all the water I get and make sure I don't end up with bacteria even out of the potable water stations, which I agree.. can be sketchy...lol
I don't even have my van yet ,but every time I am thrifting or yard saling I pick up stuff I know I will need for my van :) Bought one of the potty's you have for 5 bucks , just got a 2 burner Coleman stove for 10 bucks , two large pieces of that foam for 5 bucks., solar light for 50 cents ... I could go on.... but I won't . Now to get the van!
You got this!!! I kind of have been doing the same for the things that I will be upgrading! I’m going to be sharing all those on future videos but I did want to for example find some brighter colored items for my bedding and I wanted to pick up things that would allow me to stay off the grid for a longer amount of time. I think that’s the best thing about doing a van build is that you can go at your own pace! I can’t wait to see what you come up with whenever you do get your van!!
@@BunnyPlaysHere , I love your no build..build! It's easy to watch some of these awesome builds and get discouraged. But , builds like yours is proof you don't need anything fancy to get started! Looking forward to more content!
@@gapeach51170 I feel the same way about a lot of the videos that I’ve seen they have beautiful builds but a lot of times they have spent a lot of money or they already come into building it with some kind of idea as to what works best for them I was starting out as a tent camper who traveled in my car so having space was both a blessing and a curse I was excited because I could carry more things but nervous because it’s still not a super large vehicle and I didn’t want to overwhelm myself in the space and make myself regret the choices I had made by doing a build. I’ve been really excited to see how things have been able to move and how I have paired down items and added things over the past few months to really get it where I know what I would like to do for my next step when I do put things inside of it that are more permanent. All the same it has been a journey that has been super exciting with the no build build and I look forward to continuing that journey more confidently now because of how I started out! I’m so happy that my video was Helpful that’s really why I started my channel to show people different places that you can go on various budgets and that you don’t always have to break the bank to be able to have an amazing lifestyle or experience! The van just really fit with that well because I travel so much and now I’m ready to share that particular portion of my journey!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!! Thank you for showing a simple van build for women!! I can't afford thousands of dollars for a build!!! This helps me so much!!!
You are sooo welcome!! I have been wanting to do this forever and didn't know even in the slightest where to start. Having come from car road trips and tent camping it was something I knew I needed to do in stages and work as I could on it. I will be making improvements but in my time and on my budget which is how I think everyone should do it instead of overextending.
I just started fulltime vanlife and the anxiety is bonkers!!!! I would like to meet other vanlifers for education and network. Slow and steady is the daily mantra. Please, if and when possible, please post events!!! New and Freaked out a bit! LOL!!!
Don't be freaked out... I started out in a tent and evolved into a van and just took it piece by piece... now I am currently finding that after all this that there are improvements which can be made in my own time.... that is the greatest thing about doing the van with the no build to start out. YOU GOT THIS.. you can do it!! I don't really do a lot of meet ups just because I usually have such an erratic travel schedule and never really know where I am going to be and when until I set off in that direction.. but if I do ill let you know :)
@@BunnyPlaysHere Thanks so much!!! I appreciate the encouragement!!! Patience is key I'm learning! Looking forward to all suggestions when possible!! FOLLOWING your Channel!!!💓💓💓
Adidas I have been rocking the brand lately in kids sizes which translate into women’s sizes for half the price lol .... I wear a 7.5 women’s and that is a 6.5 kids in most sneakers
What an economical way to travel to all the places you share. If you are ever wanting to give your interior spaces a few personal touches, we do custom monogram designs at the shop. Just let me know :). Looking forward to seeing more of your travels in your small van. Maybe you will make it up to St Louis one of these days and can check out our free zoo or the arch for a video.
Thank you!! When I started by channel I really wanted to travel in a more economical way so it was important for me to continue to find ways to do that and add more safety. The van has been a great solution to that!!
Wow the first look inside. Been seeing this van in the background for a while but finally getting to see what you have inside. Some good stuff in there for overnights. I have an RV but it has limitations when it comes to size, something like this would make sense for me when I am traveling in the mountains, especially in Colorado and northern Montana. What else do you plan to change as you go?
Agreed on the limitations.. I wanted something smaller so I could still be stealth and also have great gas mileage... I wanted something which could fit just about anywhere and also something that I could continue to make improvements on over time... I will be addressing a few things I will be changing in an upcoming upload.. most of which are all to make it where I can be off grid longer since a lot of my adventures have been leaning more toward remote camping.
Actually everything is secured in the van with bungee cords and clips which work with the interior clips in the nv200 cargo van.... the storage baskets under the bed do not shift outward because of their exact sizing and the flooring in the van which is rough and acts as a stabilizer
Found your channel from your Ober Gatlinburg Wildlife encounter and coaster videos. I have been watching videos from that area for a while and planning a trip. You and the Yankee in the South channel had some of the best Ober videos. Can’t wait to visit. You have a very nice little van there.
Its pretty nice setup.. while you are figuring out how you want to build your van out.. I have the same magnets and fan .. thanks for sharing.. Stay Weird.. I seen your sticker ✌😉👍
Yessss!!!! I love it!!!! There is such an amazing community and I find more and more weirdos every day! Absolutely awesome! I have really enjoyed the set up so far and there’s only been a few things that I found that I do need to tweak more immediately mostly so that I can be off grid for a longer amount of time but all in all I have been extremely satisfied over the first 10,000 miles!
Yes I wanted to make sure I had really had some time with it before I shared what my system for making it work was... that way I could know the info I was passing on to others was factual!
Really enjoyed the opening of the video. It is wonderful to see how your channel and life has continued to blossom since I first met you. Much continued success to you! I am glad you shared this video to let us in on the behind the scenes and cannot wait to see more of your journey.
I have really enjoyed this video. I have recently bought a 2013 Transit Connect. I want a smaller foot print. I have a 29’ convert horse trailer since 2002. My pickup I bought new in 2000, I’m not getting rid of it. I’m enthused about my Connect. JamesInBensonArizona
Very exciting!!!! The small footprint allows so many great options!! I gravitated toward it because of size and stealth but also because of fuel economy, it allows me to make BIG adventures without a BIG impact on the wallet. Which is amazing!!!! I look to continue to share progress as I add features which will make it more efficient for long term off grid experiences along the way!!
Thank you for checking it out!!! They are batter powered and can be found on Amazon or at pretty much any store. I checked and found the same lights at Walmart, Target and Home Depot. They have a sticky base to them but I also added additional magnets to them to secure them further while using the uninsulated van.
Great use of what you have with the metal and magnets. Very smart. They do have a magnetic reading lamp that can be rotated you might want to look into. I have one at my office I use when working on small items that require additional light.
Good tip!! Do you happen to have the brand you use so I could look into it specifically? I enjoy using recommended products but find that sometimes there are so many brands out there so I would want to look into the one that I have a glowing review of!!
I don’t personally travel with my dog but have several friends who do.... they typically recommend proper ventilation such as a roof vent and a circulating source of some kind. Most travel with the weather being slightly cooler or they install small air units which help alleviate the heat such as small RV units which can be added to the roof.
Thank you very much!! This van has extremely square walls inside so I really was swayed by it for when I do actually build something inside, much less guess work on how to contour the elements. Not to mention the gas mileage was a HUGE selling point after coming out of a Nissan Versa for all my road trips and averaging around 40 mpg.... I have really been able to push this van and have great mileage.
No problem!! I really hope the ideas I started out with can help others who are kinda in the same place starting out and we can all grow together and have amazing adventures!!
You can add high top with a celing fan/vent to your nv200 for ~$4k. Have you thought about it? Allowing myself to be able to stand up in the van and a ceiling fan for air circulation when needed will help with comfort. Most high tops also give lots of additional storage in the front area
I thought about that after seeing many of the UK NV200 models that are converted into campers. But for me in this moment it is not something I can see myself doing. I am planning on installing a roof rack and vent soon along with my solar so I am going to focus on that and then who knows over time perhaps the pop up will be something I can afford.
@@BunnyPlaysHere oh pop-up costs double (9k+) and only rise on one end. It is still possible to do the roof rack though. High top roof will be too high to grab anything let alone bicycles on the roof.
Must have a Folgers coffee can for that time when the bathroom is too far away!!! I just want to tell you that you are the first person I've seen that looks good in that color eye shadow. So glad you took off your sunglasses.😉 I love your color coordination. You are very pretty. Thanks for the tour of your home.🤗
Oh thank you sooo much!! I really enjoy playing in makeup occasionally however I do wear sunglasses pretty often because my eyes are pretty sensitive, so I am glad I was able to share some fun makeup in the midst of such a sunny day!! I am a bright color person!
I’m new, like brand new just bought my van kinda new, to van life. I am a traveling nurse who spent the majority of the pandemic living out of hotels and wishing I had a bit more freedom. I was looking for strong women in van life to follow and found your channel. You are so inspiring to listen to as you talk about what is working and not. You gave me full confidence I can do this. New subscriber!
First and foremost thank you for all you do, you all are the real MVPs!!! Next off, each person who does van life is so different so there is no wrong or right when it comes to what you decide you would like in your van!! I agree entirely about the freedom aspect, you have your home on wheels and can take it anywhere!!!
In a perfect world the toilet simply checks a box of having it to allow me to camp where I want however it is also there in case..... last year the world closed soooo it most definitely moved up on the list quickly instead of waiting til the official build
I will most definitely take that as a compliment.. she has a wonderful can do attitude that is so infectious!!! Thank you sooo much for stopping by to check out the van ... I hope to share even more adventures and van related topics soon...
Thank you for stopping in and checking it out. The products I currently have been using have been a process to find and acquire over time. As time evolves I am sure my gear will evolve as well.... But that is the beauty of van life!!
Oh my word, this is possibly one of my favourite vanlife videos ever! Somehow way more inspirational to me than the luxury conversions in terms of feeling like a really great practical way to just get out there and get started and know that any adjustments you make along the way are exactly what you need them to be. Out of interest, how do you find the noise without any insulation on it?
Thank you sooo much for your words! The way I have it set up really has made it so much easier to make those big decisions as a whole. I do notice the noise when it aggressively rains is a little more. Otherwise I don't really notice very much of that.
Thank you for checking out the video and I am glad you found portions of it useful!!! My goal is to share the ability to travel with everyone we all travel differently so if my video even can be useful to a single person it is a win!
I have an offroad NV set up that I go out and stay in with a very similar set up. I spent a lot on the mods to the body so I can go off road and then decided to keep the inside simple. Good job on the video.
Brava! Excellent video! Questions: 1. Where did you purchase the black (?) curtain? Dimensions? 2. Insured as a cargo van? I too would be driving it everyday. I look forward to more!
1 - The black out curtains are from Walmart, I purchased a pack of 2 that are actually longer in length and I have retrofitted them to work for the space. I recommend this because it is far less expensive than having custom black out curtains made for the space itself. 2 - I am currently insured as a regular van as I am not using it exclusively as an RV at this time. I can use it for regular driver as well.
I figure as time passes I have the ability to change and modify as I go for long term solutions of comfort. Thank you sooo much for watching and weighing in!!!
Starting off I wanted to transition directly from tent camping and use what I had. I didn’t keep a lot of things that needed to be cooled so I didn’t know if that would change over time. I have since explored small fridge options and will be updating the channel soon as to improvements and what led me to them.
I am just starting my van life also and have an older town and country I am converting currently. Really like some of your tips and definitely going to look into that shower. Would love to see more info.
I will most definitely be sharing more about the shower in an upcoming upload. I have had several people requesting more info!! What an exciting adventure you have ahead with your starting of van life!! Good luck and I hope you will share your progress on your own channel!! Love to see the community growing!!
Hi, This is the first video I watched on your channel. I subscribed because of your clean, perky, enthusiast, upbeat and to the point way of explaining. I have no idea how many subscribers you have but you deserve more. I was hesitating about an nv200 for my own van but your video made it clear to me that it is the perfect one for me (hestating between an nv 200, citroen jumpy, berlingo, vw caddy and dacia dokker). 1 question, what do you do for heat? Where I´m from winters can be cold and without isolation there needs to be a heat source to sit and read in comfort in a t-shirt in freezing conditions (not to sleep, bed and bedding takes care of that - I´m used to sleeping outside). Thank you for your (possible) reply, Alain
The NV is amazing!!! The squareness of the wall in addition to the low profile of the wheel well makes it great for building out and not loosing a lot of space. Not to mention the fuel economy and size made it perfect for me because I drive a lot and didn't want to have something I couldn't park anywhere. Heat is something I don't do much with at this point. I typically travel with the weather so I am never in extremes, something I learned from tent camping. For those who don't have that as an option however (I have noticed this a lot on my UK NV200 group) small diesel heaters are typically the go to for safety and also long standing heat in addition to adding insulation. For me I have typically been fortunate in that I can usually use a down comforter, moisture wicking sheets, some comfy thick wool socks, a beanie or hoodie and some hand warmers in gloves and socks on the rare occasion that I have been in sub freezing temps. I am all about layers.
Oh wow, I had never known you tent camped. I just assumed you stayed in hotels everywhere. This is such an empowering video. You are awesome and your van is really cute.
Yes!! I did tent camping for quite some time it came with a unique set of challenges to work though. Rain was always a huge issue and in some areas I was not permitted to stay without hard sides because of some of the wildlife. Additionally I was always having to deal with the over crowding of my stuff in the car on lengthy trips. But now I have a place for everything and much more space. I am much safer in general with this current set up and I think that really sets my family at ease when I am on the road.
Love your can do attitude. I am not one to think I could ever do this but you make going along for the ride so fun. Looking forward to keeping up with all you do with this. By the way, your makeup is flawless!
Thank you sooo much!!! I love to dabble in makeup though I don't share much if any of that on the channel!! The van is a way to make adventures more doable... it allows me the freedom to roam more and find the more hidden gems to share them.. so I will be taking everyone on some fun adventures!!
Thank you so much! I tried to approach my van with a pretty no-nonsense kind of thought process. Everything needs a function in such a small space and so starting up this way allowed me to find function and spacing. I will be adding some different things to the van and making some changes over time however no rush as the continued evolution is the constant within van life.
It isn't always easy but getting started is for sure the first step! You learn quickly when on the road and can determine what you are interested in as you go.
Glad you didn’t feel pressured to build prematurely. The ideas you have are exactly right you move things around til they have a good place and no one is going to need the same things. Will you be creating permanent under bed storage as you evolve?
Yes I will be... after using the under bed storage I found the pros and cons of a pull out system for me... mostly it was all pros however I did decide I would like to possibly have it more refined looking so I will likely build under bed storage through a lifting top system when I do build.
@@BunnyPlaysHere sounds good. I was going to ask if you were going to use something to secure them or if they stayed in place well with your current set up.
@@kylegentry762 Although I haven't had any issues with things shifting in the current system it is more about aesthetics i think when it comes to the actual build in that regard... i do have several function changes i will be making however... i will continue to cover them and why i am making them along the way
@@BunnyPlaysHere I’ll look forward to seeing. I usually watch channels that have larger rigs like my own but yours being small is something really to consider as an option so much respect.
thank yoU!! I believe that we all have to start somewhere and by living in the space and finding how we use it we can best make our changes as we go. I stayed in the van with this particular set up until I quite literally broke my bed...lol... mind you the bed was several years old before it went into the van....lol.. but since I have been updating the van as I see it right to do so in the manner I feel comfortable doing so and on the time frame that is not rushed.
@@BunnyPlaysHere I’m really enjoying your videos. I’m at a major crossroad in my life and starting over after my 11 year relationship ended. I’m so excited to get into this lifestyle and finally live my life for ME. I’m looking at Nissan vans now! 😆👍🏼
Welcome to the channel!! I post travel related adventures Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays... van life is only a part of the bigger picture.. I use my van to really get out there affordably to explore.
Question of the Day: What is your must have for travel?
I have a hammock which I take everywhere with me that I can camp in if I do not opt for tent camping. It has a bug screen and additional pockets.
Headlamp
Water!

@@BunnyPlaysHere Your so welcomed. You were suberb!
Yes, im afraid of the no insulation though.
Absolutely marvellous girl .living her life rather than selling her life one hour at a time ..very smart indeed.
Doesn't it get too cold sometimes without insulation ?
@@MaryNAdam Yes even with insulation it will be cold in there. You just learn to adapt and if you are able to you follow a snowbird travel schedule.

I love the baskets with zip ties good idea!!
I needed something which would make digging around under the bed a bit easier.. when they were detached I always felt like I was having to reach further under and it became hard... so zip ties were such an affordable solution!!... thanks for checking out the video!!
Nice camera work. I mean the no build is cool, but the camera work in the opening is pretty impressive. And nice editing.
Thank you!!! I appreciate that more than you know!! I have spent the last couple of years working on trying to share my view of the world in my adventures and the camera tells the story so much better than my words ever could!!! Thanks for checking out the video and your amazing words!!!!
Thanks for recommending this video on your channel, Dawn. I really enjoyed it. Gives me hope for starting my van life.

@@BunnyPlaysHere Thank you so much! 🙂
Ok so I know you said you were camping before this, I didn't realize you meant a tent. Girl you better get inside that van at night and be safe.
Lol a lot of people didn’t live me tent camping soooo it is for sure an upgrade!!
@@BunnyPlaysHere I mean can you blame them for not being all about you in a tent, girl you better get you some security!
I felt this statement to the core
@@kymjackson145 I met her in Tennessee on a trail and she told me about what she does and mentioned camping. But for some reason I always assumed she meant in an RV or something like that. I would have never assumed tent.
My nv200 is also a "no build" camper. Even at 6 ft tall, I can stretch out in the bed completely...but I wouldn't recommend any taller. Highly recommend a down quilt with a sewn-in footbox. My thermometer has recorded several nights just below freezing and I didn't even notice.
Good recommendations. I have a down comforter I will be adding to the van that I ordered!!
Less is more! Keep it simple and don't break the bank - great video, great philosophy to live by! :-D
I was thinking everything would be much brighter though since your personality is so vibrant.
Thank you ma’am!!! I am so happy you enjoyed it despite not being an adventure I just want to share what makes all the adventures possible also!!
@@BunnyPlaysHere it makes it all make much more sense. I really appreciate you being so transparent.

See I have been telling people that and until you see that there is room to lay down and not just lay down it doesn’t make sense lol
I thought that also I didn’t expect anything like all that
Would you ever consider putting your other links in videos not just for the van? You have had some very cute leggings I wanted before. I don't know if that is possible or not but would love that.
for things which can be purchased online sure!
Yes!!!! I have some upgrades coming very soon!!
"When it's hot, I can open up my garage door...." lol.
Welcome to the NV family. Small but mighty we roll to campgrounds unknown with ease and better fuel economy. Is your body entirely stock currently?
Yes I have made no mods yet at all.... the goal was to see how it worked as is before doing anything to make it more rugged
I'm looking for both the shower and toilet, so please do a video. I only tent camp.now, but looking for a van.
I will for sure!! I can show how they work, why I selected them and my overall thoughts after having had them... COMING SOON!!

Thank you so much.
Yes I do travel with things to protect me along the way
Love it! Still think you are a baddie for doing this. I would always be paranoid about traveling solo. You do it and make it look fun.
It’s not that bad you trust your gut and you learn tips about where to go and stay
the best "no build" van build I've ever seen!
Thank you!!! I just hope my build can be helpful to others as they look toward a van of their own!!
Yes it was my must get before doing the no build
I encountered this a bit when working in some of the areas of Colorado that I was sent this past year. A lot of the public facilities were not open, even dump stations.
Really nice. Love the video. I hope you keep doing videos on the actual van. Sometimes YTers go off to videos of other things.
Also, could you please let us know how you ventilate the cargo living area with the privacy curtains closed and no windows? Thank you.

I will work on putting a list together!!
I think your brilliant. Well done.
Thank you!! So happy you enjoyed the video!!!

Enjoy the videos.. and don't judge harshly on the old old old ones... lol...

You might want to invest in a $25.00 Sawyer Mini Water Filter in the event you camp somewhere the water is questionable!
I have one and love it!! I haven't shared it in the build but I do carry it on every adventure. I use the mini squeeze adapter so I can filter all the water I get and make sure I don't end up with bacteria even out of the potable water stations, which I agree.. can be sketchy...lol
Since you suggested this I am curious can you get these at WalMart or Academy Sports?
I don't even have my van yet ,but every time I am thrifting or yard saling I pick up stuff I know I will need for my van :)
Bought one of the potty's you have for 5 bucks , just got a 2 burner Coleman stove for 10 bucks , two large pieces of that foam for 5 bucks., solar light for 50 cents ...
I am in the same boat just about to buy my van
@UCr8BL-gpMObsg6L96OVn_Gg you got this!! you will love it!!! There are a lot of newbies in the comments here so a great community!!
Your sneakers look comfortable. What's the brand?
Adidas I have been rocking the brand lately in kids sizes which translate into women’s sizes for half the price lol .... I wear a 7.5 women’s and that is a 6.5 kids in most sneakers
Agree with this, I haven't seen this style. Where did you find them?
What an economical way to travel to all the places you share. If you are ever wanting to give your interior spaces a few personal touches, we do custom monogram designs at the shop. Just let me know :). Looking forward to seeing more of your travels in your small van. Maybe you will make it up to St Louis one of these days and can check out our free zoo or the arch for a video.
I will consider that as I progress with the design inside... I am looking to bring some bright colors which are fun as I continue to move forward...
What a cute little van. I had never thought of something like this making travel more economical. Keep it up.
Really enjoyed your micro camper. The magnets are clever.
Thanks until I do wall coverings I am making the most of the body of the van and using every inch
I hope you consider turning it into a 4 season camper that would be a good little overlander rig
@@arkieoverlander6730 I will be eventually but until then I follow the weather
You upgraded from the tent. Will you still be going to some of the same kinds of campgrounds?
Yes!! This will allow me to camp even more places.... I will be sharing both improved and primitive sites.... depending on where I am going
Nice but you do not have anything tied down. Not safe.
Actually everything is secured in the van with bungee cords and clips which work with the interior clips in the nv200 cargo van.... the storage baskets under the bed do not shift outward because of their exact sizing and the flooring in the van which is rough and acts as a stabilizer
Love this and your personality is so great!
Thank you soo much!! Hope you found some of it useful!!
Found your channel from your Ober Gatlinburg Wildlife encounter and coaster videos. I have been watching videos from that area for a while and planning a trip. You and the Yankee in the South channel had some of the best Ober videos. Can’t wait to visit. You have a very nice little van there.
Oh thank you sooo much!! I enjoy how the yankees cover things also.. they do a wonderful job!!
Loved your video. I have a small Dodge Caravan I am about to travel in and wanted something similar to this inside. Really liked your tips!

You have already driven 10k in it 😳
Yes I wanted to make sure I had really had some time with it before I shared what my system for making it work was... that way I could know the info I was passing on to others was factual!
Really enjoyed the opening of the video. It is wonderful to see how your channel and life has continued to blossom since I first met you. Much continued success to you! I am glad you shared this video to let us in on the behind the scenes and cannot wait to see more of your journey.
Thank you sooo much Janet!! I am glad you enjoyed the video I already have some updates I will be sharing soon!!
Love your no build! Great ideas! Can you give more info on the puck lights please? Are they run off battery or USB or what? Thanks!
What you suggest if you have a dog.to.keep cool.
I don’t personally travel with my dog but have several friends who do.... they typically recommend proper ventilation such as a roof vent and a circulating source of some kind. Most travel with the weather being slightly cooler or they install small air units which help alleviate the heat such as small RV units which can be added to the roof.
Best no-build vid I've seen to date and double cool on a van I've been thinking about getting. Thanks so much.
LOVE your ideas! GREAT ideas for someone starting out--THANKS...for helping me find my way ---- 👣😷
No problem!!
Your a beautiful positive person.... you go girl ! Happy travels my friend.
That comment warms my heart!! Thank you sooo much for checking out the video and leaving something so nice...
I also have a small chemical toilet but rarely use it. I stay close enough to public areas that I can do my business there or use nature.
I guess that being said however it is different for women than men in that regard
In a perfect world the toilet simply checks a box of having it to allow me to camp where I want however it is also there in case..... last year the world closed soooo it most definitely moved up on the list quickly instead of waiting til the official build
Yes lol
Hi bunny!! you sound like dawnofvanlife... safe travels love your setup
I will most definitely take that as a compliment.. she has a wonderful can do attitude that is so infectious!!! Thank you sooo much for stopping by to check out the van ... I hope to share even more adventures and van related topics soon...
I'm really impressed! You found some great products that make van life easier. Thanks for the great tour!
Thank you for stopping in and checking it out. The products I currently have been using have been a process to find and acquire over time. As time evolves I am sure my gear will evolve as well.... But that is the beauty of van life!!
I see my patch! Yay!
Yes sir!
You must know Chrome and Cruz.sweet home thanks for sharing

Fantastic ideas. Really enjoyed and appreciated your video. Looking forward to your future videos. Have fun, stay safe and stay healthy!
Oh nice!! What led you to an NV vs a larger rig?
Brava! Excellent video! Questions:
Terrific setup. A little ingenuity and adaptability and you have the equivalent of a $15k build.
I figure as time passes I have the ability to change and modify as I go for long term solutions of comfort. Thank you sooo much for watching and weighing in!!!
I have those spice containers in my van they are great use of space. Keep it up.
Yes they are! Thanks for checking out the video!!!
Really well done video and build. Solid advice. Thanks for making this.
Thanks for watching !!!!
No fridge? I've seen them in small cars, so just wondering why not a small van.
Hi,
This is the first video I watched on your channel.
Thank you for your (possible) reply,
Alain
You should look into solar as you make improvements to the set up.
I do have a solar panel I will be mounting to the top on a roof rack once I select which one I like.
Additionally I will be sharing my new power source to help offset the inverter dilemma mentioned in the later portion of this video
The cheapest and smartest option for living the van life...love it...
A great way to start out !!
Good on you for keeping going with your goals. Keep up with the great videos.
Thanks I am really excited about this step!!
Very nice video from a very nice bubbly positive person . Well done .
Thank you so much for not only the nice comment but also watching!!!! I just try to be very genuine in what I do
Quick question. Have u ever been to Shawnee national forest in southern Illinois? I've been thinking about going there.
I have not been there... my exploration in Illinois has been limited to Chicago before my channel began sadly...
@@BunnyPlaysHere
Thanks.
Great Informative video ! Very practical and realistic :) best wishes !
I am really inspired by this. I have always wanted to do this but never thought I could until seeing your video. You made it so simple and fail proof.
This build is AWESOME!!! 👍🏼
I’m so inspired. Just subscribed. 😁
