    For evey who says their putting too much corn silage on the ground. That copper is depreciating close to $200 an hour 80 bucks of corn silage on the ground is cheap if it means 25% more capacity.

      so the more expensive the equipment the more waste is acceptable? Smart man you are.

      Letting the chopper rest probably costs more than dropping some corn on the ground! 😅 Better to lose $80 of corn while the machine runs at full capacity than watch $200 slip away every hour! Besides, who knows-maybe the wild turkeys will thank us for the free corn buffet! 😂

      @@ulrichpieplow3858 Here's the comment translated into English:
      "Well, it's like driving a luxury car-the more expensive it is, the more fuel you're willing to burn! 😆 But don’t worry, the corn falling on the ground isn’t really wasted; it might just be a 'welfare fund' for the local birds and squirrels! 😂 Smart farming meets smart wildlife care!"

    Dairy farmer here,the more moisture your corn loses the lower the dry matter in your silage is gonna be. If you know you know.

      Keep in mind you’re only seeing clips of the most difficult areas they dealt with. Standing in the field at the end of the day the field was clean.

      Is it a waste if it’s organic matter going back into their own field?

    Whether you've got a 12 row Claas or a 1 row New Holland Super 717 it doesn't mean a thing if you're blowing it all on the ground.

      Very minimal loss. Keep in mind you’re only seeing short clips of some of the worst conditions they dealt with. Standing in the field at the end of the day you would struggle to find waste on the ground.

    Mudding out the harvest…… yup I’ve done that quite a lot…. That’s when the party is just getting started… but you know you have only one chance to get corn harvest right…. Great video

    Great video for sure wonder if they would ever pull 2 single carts and haul more per tractor

    • @tractorchasers
      @tractorchasers  2 місяці тому

      Thanks! The carts don’t get used enough to upgrade. Usually they’re just chopping directly into trucks.

    • @Blackwellll3066
      @Blackwellll3066 2 місяці тому +1

      @tractorchasers yea but I mean don't the carts have hitches so ya can one tractor can pull 2 carts at a time?

    • @tractorchasers
      @tractorchasers  2 місяці тому

      There is a farm I’ve seen do that. In these conditions with these tractors though there wouldn’t be enough power and traction to pull two carts.

    I would went with wide metric tires with 2and 1/2 " luggs or LSW's, row crop wheels are horrible in mud, just my thoughts.

      Impossible to judge after seeing 15 minutes of video clips. Standing in the field at the end of the day I would have had a hard time finding enough on the ground to fill a couple wheel barrows full.
