  • Episode 3 of The Acolyte, appropriately titled “Destiny” features the return of Space Witches. We’ve seen other witches in Star Wars content, primarily from the Witches of Dathomir. This episode also gave us a backstory of Mae and Osha’s childhood and their respective journeys. We also got to see what happened that night on Brendok.

    Oh boy, there is without a doubt a lot to unpack here. It almost feels like Leslye Headland cared more to shock audiences than pay attention and write a deep and compelling story. One thing is for certain, she succeed in the first part! I'm very curious to see how the next episode will respond to this one and whether anything from this episode can be somewhat salvaged... still holding out hope, I'm going to give this show one last chance to do that and pray that I'll be blown away and amazed by the end of it all. At this point, that's all we can really hope for the best, right?

    Yea idk. At first I liked the idea that this was a mystery type of show and the Jedi kind of felt like more the police during this time period. But I just lost it all, I don’t want to be that guy. I’m accepting of all people but it really felt like their pushing on their agendas. Then the scene with the mountain burning down hit and killed the whole coven was just like hilarious

      At first there was a lot of promise, but the more we see of this show, more negative than positive aspects appear. Let's hope this was a bad flashback and the present day stuff will make up for it... kind of like the opposite situation in Book of Boba Fett - where the flashback segments were great, but the present day content was lacklustre.

    Seeing the fandom getting torn in half is probably the best part of the episode lol.
    In all seriousness, I have a long list of criticisms with this episode (many of which you covered), though I don’t think it’s close to other series episodes

      To be honest, I don't even care or look at that. Like, if this was genuinely a good crafted, well written and directed episode then I would had liked it, even if something about it were to piss off the fandom. Problem is, that didn't happen here.
      What do you mean it isn't close to the other series episodes? Like in terms of quality?

      @@SYLOVideo I find other episodes from the other live action shows to be worse IMO. More specifically Kenobi episode 4 and Mando S3 EP6

      Meh, they all deserve to be thrown in the same trash bin... but you know the ol' saying, "one man's trash is another man's treasure" lol

      David, did you not want a show about the Jedi? Then again (correct me if I'm wrong)... but I swear this was supposed to be originally about the Sith and aside from the main Sith dude monologuing for a minute in episode 1, we haven't gotten anything remotely Sith yet lol

      @@SYLOVideoi dont watch the show but one would think we would get a show mainly on the sith but no its about witches, Jedi and space twins and such so yeah pretty burnt out on jedi tv shows and movies

      They really did a 180 on us with this show. Honestly, at this point the Sith is the only reason I'm still tuning into this show... And watch them wait until the very last episode for when he shows up again lmao

    I've been enjoying the acolyte so far I enjoy the mystery and the different view on the force its intriguing to me
    Anakin was created by the force mai and osha were created by someone manipulating the force to they're will there is a difference and as for why they don't resemble a zabrack children in mixed families can resemble either parents not just both
    I personally think for stuff that dosnt make sense some of those questions will probably be answered later on
    I think it was obvious that mai was was being controlled by someone when she said she would kill osha

    • @SYLOVideo
      @SYLOVideo  21 день тому +1

      That's true, Anakin was created by the force itself, while the twins were created with the force being manipulated. Still, they're both seemingly the same result at the end of the day. We don't know yet if Headland plans to turn the twins into beta versions of Anakin/'the chosen one'.
      As for the Zabrak features, sorry but I don't buy it. If they're half Human, half Zabrak, they should show some features resembling that. All they have from their Zabrak mother is her lighter skin complexion, that's it. That be fine if mother Koril was a human too, but she's not. They should at the very least have mini horns. Every mixed breed species children that we've seen in Star Wars to date has at least one feature of the other parent visually shown.
      If the next episode gives us some satisfying answers, then for sure, I think and agree that it should help this episode, for sure. That said, it also won't save everything here because there was a lot of other bad writing/choices/general nonsense going on.

      There is no mystery, lol. This is just a twisted view used to push an agenda. This show makes no sense

    • @SYLOVideo
      @SYLOVideo  21 день тому

      But there is mystery, that's something Headland keeps pushing in this show in each new episode - first the mystery on who the Jedi assassin is, the mystery on how Mae survived her presumed death, the mystery on what the Jedi did on Brendock due to Torbin committing suicide over it, and now the mystery on what really killed the Witches... it's one new mystery after mystery, but the thing is, none of these mysteries are really all that compelling IMO. For me, the only mystery I really and truly care about is who the Sith here is lol

      @@SYLOVideo exactly. every "mystery" is either something blatantly explained BEFORE building up to any suspense or some trivial fact that no one cares about like how she survived the fall. The biggest mystery for me is how they were created and isolated on a planet with a whole community speaking with a euro accent and end up being the only ones speaking murican. Or why the show used jazz hands instead of sfx for the ritual scene.
