#1. Jhene began singing to help transfer emotions due to having a quick temper.
#2 When Namiko was an infant, Jhene was staying with a friend. The house had thin walls, and the baby was also sleeping alot, so she learned to sing "quietly." This can be heard on most of the songs on her EP Sailing Souls.
#3 Jhene's religious beliefs include Christianity and Buddhism, which are often reflected in the lyrics of her "moral" songs. (I.e. "Everything Must Go")

So unique to see someone be enamoured with Jhené; she’s so deserving of her flowers. Her music has got me through the worst times in my life. I was lucky to see her a few years back at Manchester 02 Ritz, a small venue for an intimate performance, and her ethereal presence and majestic voice so took me back.

Jhené got her start waaaay back in 2002 w B2K. Around 2011 she started to gain some popularity for her mixtape by the name of Sailing Soul(s) .Around this same time Drake used a song of hers by the name of July which gave her even more recognition. Around 2013 is when she really became popular bc her breakout song by the name of “The Worst” was released. After “The Worst” was released Sail Out EP was released (with “The Worst” on it) and was nominated for a Grammy.

The last song she did (Eternal Sunshine). I cried like a baby when I heard it for the first time. I still cry whenever I hear it. I don't think I will ever be able to hear it without crying. I want this song played years from now when I die and I get cremated upon a wood pyre. I want everyone to remember the good I did for and spread to all who I love. Fitting eulogy. If Eternal Sunshine by Jhene Aiko ain't on that playlist, I ain't gonna be dying. Eternal Sunshine was written in memory of her late brother. I extend my love and admiration to her and all her friends and family. She is a beautiful soul, inside and outside. Jhene Aiko , ........ THANK YOU! 😭

She really healed me on so many things in my life, her voice is soothing her lyrics are relatable, she's very spiritual she is a pisces so she loves anything that has to do with cleansing & chakras energy, it's crazy watching her evolve into this beautiful soul she has been through so much in her past, so yes definitely listen to her songs.
She is part Japanese based on her name and the singing bowls she plays are Asian, Japanese, Nepalanese, etc... another culture or two informs her music

She did an interview saying how she puts certain frequencies and using certain healing sounds to give off certain energies and healing aspects in her music ! I think it honestly beautiful. Her music literally compels you and honestly makes you feel at peace with everything. Her music literally heals the mind, body, and soul! You should give her other projects and albums a listen ❤️
