Jhene is really into the science of healing with vibrations. She studies tones and notes that have physical impacts on the body and tries to incorporate it into her music. Just like how horror movies use music to invoke anxiety/fear, she tries to relax and "cleanse" her audience.
That's an incredibly unique and amazing approach to music.
@@LesageSinging one of the reasons why i stan her
Jhené is such a special performer and aesthetically such a calming voice
Great analysis! Jhene Aiko's music falls under the umbrella term alternative R&B . SZA's music falls under this too. It's one of my favourite music genres and there's some beautiful and unique music coming out of the scene.
It's extremely interesting and inspiring. It's testiment to the importance of making YOUR art. I'm still figuring it out. Musicianship, technique, and acting I feel like I keep up with a lot of folks, but it's the artistry that matters. The ability to communicate to folks. I suck at that and as I watch all these amazing ARTISTS, I realize the gap more and more.
It motivates me
She’s posted clips of her music making process and the sounds she incorporates into her music it’s really beautiful
and she has a 12 year old daughter. she looks like a tee herself, it’s crazy. love her so much
I'd love to see you react to Brandy. She was a super star in the 90s and 00s and even played the ingenue in the 1997 Cinderella, but has this really raspy voice. A really untraditional princess
I'm now taking react requests from Discord. I live stream the reacts according to the requests. discord.gg/XN57VQZ2
I announce the time I do the requests a week in advance and it's first come first serve.
I used to do it based on yt comments, but some folks are getting buried unfortunately :(
ohhh jhene aiko also an RnB singer that's very overlooked and underrated
she’s definitely not overlooked or underrated whatttt
@@dias4241 i mean she's not that popular is she? at least i don't really see her on the charts or anything.I'm not updated on the new singers haha so idk whats considered popular in the RnB world but i'd think jazmine and chloe and halle are way more popular and known than jhene right?
@@renatoamaral7719 nono she’s very popular, id say even more than jazmine and chloexhalle
@@dias4241 oh wow good for her then!! im not really into her music as much as i love jazmine's and here in portugal she's not talked about thats why i figured she wasnt really known
@@renatoamaral7719 oooh i see. yeah here in america she’s well known so i don’t blame you for not knowing her if you live in portugal!
I LOVE the way you broke this down. Jhene is one of the BEST out there!!
She's also incredibly unique
She's giving very much spoken word. A true poet. I love Jhene and your reactions!
You're reacting to artists that I love omgggg 😭😭😭
I’m so glad this video popped up on my feed. Maybe because i love any and everything relating to Jhene. But whoaaaaa... you can tell this guy eat, sleep, breath music. From his breakdowns, defining and explaining what everything is, from his listening skills to the way he notices certain things is intriguing to watch. It’s the attentiveness for me! Can’t wait to continue watching and learning
It's good to know the last 14 years of training hasn't been a total waste lol.
I'm happy folks are getting value out of this. It's nice to share music and passion for music whilst there is a pandemic.
I love your advice and breakdowns
Thanks Lauryn :)
This was different! I love her tattoo! True, Big Mama Thornton is amazing! I tried learning her version of the Hound Dog, which is of course superior, but it's so organic, that it's a challenge.
Yeah. It's definitely a lesson in artistry.
You are so good. One of my favorite reactors
Thanks Mickey 😃
absolutely love how you break these down!! starting to realize all the significant things I overlook.
Great synopsis this is really good one
Appreciate it Chris.
Ugh I love your reactions so much 😩😂

Every since I came across you I'm always interested in your take on not only some of my favorite artists but anyone you cover. Thanks

You should also do rina sawayama tiny desk concert her jhene ,jazmin Sullivan and chloexhalle whew!
I've moved away from reactions into a combo of react/technical breakdown. The next video is going to be Chloe X Halle and why they sound beautiful together. Then I'll probably do Jazmine Sullivan and why she is a master of tone.
@@LesageSinging nice I'd still love to see rina sawayama shes refreshing

She remind. Me of sade
Asian influences?
I believe singing bowls originated in Asia. They are certainly prominent in Tibet. I suppose a blanket comment like "Asian influences" is a bit trite on my end. I should be more specific.
