@@effugio.geesala insurance is a wonderful thing. That’s why I’ll never worry about it. It would be super shit but having the insurance gives me some sort of peace of mind
So last year I have bought sony a6400 + sigma 56mm 1.4. And a few months after I was invited to go with my friends to Hungary to a motorcycle race. I made like 7000 shots in two days and I remember learning how to do those panning shots. It was not easy with just a short lens. Still I managed to keep a motorcycle sharp, background and wheels blurred and I was so happy. Since then covid19 canceled like three more events.... Oh and I also have 70-350G lens now and it is outstanding.
Epic POV! What I love about the panning shot is you don't need a low aperture i.e expensive lens to do it. It's all about the timing of the shot. Dialing in that shutter speed to suit. After 100's of shot's your doing well to get a handful of great shots!
Yes another video. A tutorial on the lighting sounds a very good plan. Thanks for the panning tutorial at the beginning, I am defo going to get out to give it a try.
I've discovered your channel this past week and I absolutely love it. Thanks for all the content. Great images. Can't wait to finish my exams and get out again to take some photos.
Thanks for your videos Samuel, its put the fire back into my creative side, and I am looking forward to getting out and about once we have better times in London, just about to grab your presets, have to support. Glad you got the wrist strap as well lol.
Put your shutterspeed at 3 or 4 seconds... bump up the iso a bit.. same with the aperture... put your camera on a stand.. set the timer on 10 seconds.... press... and when the 10 seconds is up,walk with the light across you're subject...and voila.... you have the same photo
Cheers for posting these videos fella. I personally find them really inspiring, I don't yet own a camera other than my phone which will do for noe. Currently saving for a proper one.
Awesome love the vids only started watching, ive actually started to go out a take more pics thanks! Also tutorial on the light paint pic of the Porsche?
Fellow Londoner, started doing photography specifically for motorsports (Rally / WRC in particular) Would love to share some panning shots taken to get your views. It is hard work! Since I've bought a camera few months ago been to WRC in Finland and Germany, Rally Cross in Kent and British GT3 in Brands Hatch. Don't know what madness in me is willing to spend a whole day taking thousand photos in frustration and getting 10 good ones out of it ha Funny the video ends near where I love - Tower Bridge
Love ur videos so much! Incredible photos. I brought a month ago sony a7iii with tamron 28-75 f2.8. its my first camera ever, Im just started to learn photography. It would be very good thing for newbies like me if you put photo info each time you do one and show us. I mean iso, shutter speed, F. Anyway thank you for your videos!!! With love from Russia:)
Possibly a stupid question but... Is a lens that's able to shoot at 1.2 or 1.4 sharper at say 2.8 or f4 than a lens that has a max aperture of 1.8 or f2?
I personally don’t believe so. The maker of the lens will make a difference. In terms of quality of the glass and build will determine the difference in quality at f4 between two different lenses.
Just watching this video and thought I recognised that Porsche! I photographed the exact same car before Christmas on a street photography walk round!! 😂😂
Sterling shots and commentary, Sam! Only Q is focus method for panning. Do you use focus tracking to follow subject, or continuous where focus point is fixed? Cheers!
That’s like saying the problem with drilling holes with a drill is you have to use too many rotations to drill the hole ? Your camera is suppose to take photos 😂🤦🏼
I finally have a wrist strap 😂
i was gonna say i need one of those, u dont know how many times ive dropped my camera XD
Finally.. The anxiety I got from the new years eve video was awful.... 😂
I was concerned about some moped robber having his eye on it too

Great video. More on the light effects please and can I ask what is the wrist strap you have been using in your last couple of casts. 👍🤘
Big shout out to the bus and cabby drivers who let you snap them and keep the city rolling.
Hi I really like this style ... Im just starting out. I have a canon kit len and a 50mm. What one would you recommend to use as I start out?
What camera is that ? Coul you tell me what dslr you using ? Cuz im beginner and wanna upgrade my camera dslr canon d3200
Hey what settings did you use for aperture iso and shutter speed as you changed it quite a bit 😅
what app and filters you use for adjust your photos?
What lens were you using. 85mm 1.8?
So I misread OpticalWander as OpticalWanker 😂.
Subscribed! 🤘🏻
Did you realise the name before or after you subscribed 😂😂😂
@@Opticalwander After! 😁
Do you recommend the nikon z ii over the sony a7 iii?
I was wondering which focus mode you were in. I also like to do panning but sometimes i have problems with my autofocus.
Are you using Autofocus für panning shots?
Is it with a Sony A6000 as possible as with a fullframe camera?^^
You're amazing! I just subscribed ☺
Thank you 🙏
Was wondering how you focus during panning.
And you made an entire video, nice.
Which lens you’re using Auto or Manual?
Is the photos that he's showing after he capture edited?
8:30 I'd love that tutorial 😃
Did he ever make it? lol
Hi bro What lens and preset do you use

@@Opticalwander gotcha. Thanks Optical!
Thanks for the vid. How much post editing do you do to each pic.? I'm thinking about buying the sony 7iii. Thanks.
What is your focus settings on A7III for panning?
Just watching this video and thought I recognised that Porsche! I photographed the exact same car before Christmas on a street photography walk round!! 😂😂
hayyy
first
also tnx to u I got a lot of rlly good photos on my first class tysm
remember me?
Legend 🙏
What fucos did you used?
Btw great great video 👊
What light did you.. hold on that car?..
Is it the Sigma 85mm you're using? My A7iii arrives next week and I love the compressed look so hoping I can pick up an 85mm soon.
Sick video! Any chance you could showcase the Sony 50mm in one of these videos? Would be interested to see what you can do!
Definitely can do 🙏
I’m guessing this might be a little sketchy without IBIS or lens IS... but I think I’ll give this a go whenever it’s deemed safe
What focus mode were you on? Sick shots!
Is this lockdown day ?
I just want to visit London for photography can you tell me can I visit or thr r restrictions?
Stay at home. Unless you are a registered business doing work for another business you cannot go out and shoot.
Sterling shots and commentary, Sam! Only Q is focus method for panning. Do you use focus tracking to follow subject, or continuous where focus point is fixed? Cheers!
Depends if I remember but typically put it on the centre point then keep the subject in the centre but most of the time it’s on wide.
Is this the samyang 85?
It is indeed 🤙🏼
Hola! Subscriber from the philippines 🇵🇭
I desperately want to visit the Philippines one day 🙏
Awesome! Would gladly take you around the metro for POV shots!
Great instructional POV you did a lot of walking on this one - what's happened to your scooter?
With this new Sony 35mm f1/4 GM, this lens good enough for street photography or stick with the 85mm f1/4 GM ?
The 35 looks mega but the OG is the 85mm with the compression. However I haven’t used the 35 maybe I should
Try get my hands on one.
Sam, what focus mode is best?
I find wide but that’s me 😂😂
The problem about panning is that you used too much shutter counts to get good photos.
That’s like saying the problem with drilling holes with a drill is you have to use too many rotations to drill the hole ? Your camera is suppose to take photos 😂🤦🏼
First 😂🔥
i was again but ok
@@jesse8611 tie??
