That's nice you got rid of the hay fever. I have it but if I think back it is far less of a problem. I had some knee pain, probably osteoarthritis. I basically do not have knee pain now unless I run a very long distance, and I haven't done that for probably 7 years now.
I love these videos jeff. I can watch Mcdougall and similar speakers all day. Still blows my mind that this isn't common knowledge. When I lost 50+ pounds ppl thought I was nuts when I told them I did it eating potatoes rice beans pasta. I kept hearing "I'd get fat if I ate that way". There were a few ppl who were seriously concerned about my protein intake. Convinced my muscles would just waste away.

But didn't Americans get fatter eating mostly rice, corn, potatoes, and pasta? Didn't the food pyramid which tells you to eat that way make people fatter? The USDA food pyramid told people to eat a high carb starch based very low fat diet, and people followed that advice and as a result, obesity and diabetes skyrocketed.
I am 53 years old now; 35 years after starting a fitness journey, only during the past 18 months have I realized exactly how much we've been lied to .... now, fitter than I was at 18, with little if any exercise.... rationality and real science have won. I am 18 again. How do U feel ?
I'd be in better shape, too. I started 5 years ago at age 48. Let's say I started at 35. I'd be in better shape for sure, but I'm doing pretty good now. :-) It works even for the older people too.
I was doing the keto diet when I saw a video of a baby piglet smiling and being all lovable. I instantly felt sick. How could anyone hurt that innocent baby? Instantly decided I'm not eating animal products anymore. The thought of it makes me feel sick.
Great presentation! Thank you for sharing! I did the McDougall diet in the early 90's and felt great on it! Fell off the wagon though, wasn't too committed, yet. This podcast is amazing! Especially Dr. McDougall talking about virus transmissions from animal to man. He was so knowledgeable even then!!
Chia seeds saved me!!! I was like you until I started putting chia seeds in a bottle of water every morning and evening. 1.5-2 tbs per bottle of water. Chug it. Stabilizes your blood/glucose levels hence no more strong awful cravings that would lead to my downfall. Try it. Aldis has bags for like $3!!!!!!
@ Lorraine I have lost 40 pounds on the zone diet and exercising every day- not true what he says about the poptarts etc.- you cannot eat poptarts at all on the zone
mr nelson i want to know one thing. you look really healthy and fit but why you couldn't reverse your hair loss? is there anything vegans can do to reverse hair loss that has happened already?
@11:50 - Bullshit- Barry Sears doesn't advocate eating poptarts or any starches except for perhaps oatmeal- he advocate eating one third of the plate low fat protein and the other 2/3 carbs (vegetables and a little fruit)

I cut out sodas only tea decafe no surgar in my diet im a backpacker
