It's the 9hours chain, and they DO NOT activate that gear without your permission...because you have to pay for it! It's a medical assessment service available for a bit extra. Not a bad place to stay, book a lower capsule if you're not that flexible. Shower facilities are superb, mattresses are a bit hard, pillows were perfect. Not terribly sound proof though. A decent place for a single night.

that camera is put there to protect the tenants inside from alot of things that includes preventing you from dying while sleeping or alone inside , cause a lot of japanese seems to suddenly die alone

The second Capsule hotel you mentioned looks like Anshin Oyado in Shinjuku. Might not be great if you need that perfect 8hr rest, but one of the cheaper capsule hotels around and definitely not bad either! Great onsen in there, too!!
