Am I the only one who’s more impressed by the pattern creator than converting things to vector?
Get adobe capture for your phone. You can take pictures in vector, and the pattern creator works just like the one you saw in the video.
Anything you see can make some nice patterns. You can also take pictures of texts and it will show you the closest font choice to use to copy it. Several other features as well.
Intramotive Jones I have been obsessed with capture, and just figured out how to make images into vector images. Too much fun

Until today I have used another method to do this ... select the image, ctrl + click on the layer, go to tab "paths": Make new path from selection. Then: Edit menu / define custom form. The disadvantage in this way is that the resulting vector does not fit completely (unless it has good resolution), small adjustments must be made manually (but it saves a lot of time, though). To add or export them, it is done with the tool: custom form. The advantage, that being a form, you can place color, stroke, etc. easily.

I always find your videos very informative even though I do not use any Adobe products except Acrobat.
I am a designer and the only one at work with a PC not a Mac and no Photoshop or Illustrator! I use the latest CorelDraw 2019 and PaintShop Pro 2020.
There has been more than a few times I have been asked to convert a raster image to vector with CorelDraw as the results are better! I was amazed!

You can also create an action that can turn whatever you select into a shape-vector. Then the only thing you'll have to do will be to magically select the object of your desire from your picture and then press the play in the action you created and BOOM: You have a vector
