Winner winner chicken dinner! Wasn't expecting a Patton review this early so big kudos to you. BTW the Patton vs T4 chart at 11:48 is mislabeled and arranged on the wrong side but I'm sure folks will figure that out for themselves.
that was great crash footage, especially the last one, watching it tumble and twist and bounce - you could see all the contact points of the wheel and they looked tough.
Jack, Awesome early and very thorough review! I'm loving the Veteran wheels and the Patton looks to be just as awesome as the Sherman Max and S. Really looking forward to seeing more testing! Be well -Shane
I''m happy to see this model as I was the T4 when it came out, It nice to see the companies take a break from the horsepower war and work on lighter and more nimble suspension EUC's, personally I see little to no reason why I would want to ride much faster than 40MPH, to me EUC's are for around town where traffic is moving between 25-35MPH, the idea of having something that is capable of 40-45MPH appeals to me because when the battery drops lower I'd still have a EUC that would go 30-35MPH. Looking at the performance numbers between the 2, it looks like the Patton is a no-brainer, BUT, the extra $700-800 is a significant jump, I could see first time buyers going for the T4 for the significant price savings.
Dope lookin wheel. Loving my Sherman s and I ride seated a good amount so it’s a better match for me.. But I’d love to rip around on the patton forsure, looks solid. Great video bro!
just done a test ride on the Patton what an amazing wheel I uploaded a few videos can't wait for more reviews this thing is this year's top wheel maybe
Loved this well rounded review Jack 👏 off road and street. I'm getting the sherman s and thought it might be the only wheel I get this year. Looks like I need to get the patton too!
Thanks Jack for this review. This got me excited about the preordered I made for this wheel. Yes its not for everyone and the weight will turn people off, but as for me, the trials I ride have a lot of inclines and the torque is sure going to help. This will be a complement to my Sherman S.
Higher energy density batteries (about 40% lighter) will be available in 1-2 years. Mass production for cars starts soon for Li-Si chemistry. ... Buying used wheels until then is a good strategy.
@@grb1969 I hope you're right. In the meantime I'm not going to hold my breath. Li-Ion manufacturers would first compete with price, if a new chemistry emerges. That means several years of cheap Li-Ion, before a new chemistry takes over. This is going to matter to the wheel manufacturers. 2000Wh vs 4000Wh?
Interesting video and this really looks like a good wheel. If I didn't already have the Sherman S then I might consider this, but then still buy the Sherman S. I've ridden over 100km a few times on my Sherman S and really like having the 3,600Wh battery. I wouldn't mind a 16" suspension wheel as a smaller/lighter wheel, but this is a bit heavy for that use-case. Still, I wouldn't mind riding the Veteran Patton, it looks like a fun wheel to ride. For those that wouldn't ride any further than this can comfortably handle, it might be a really good wheel to choose.
In your comparison at 11:42 you compare it to the t4 (verbally saying t4), but in the spec comparison shows Sherman S, Perhaps you can add one of those little notation boxes over the Sherman S on the video. Thanks for your early review! Looks like a promising wheel even if a bit heavy.
Great looking wheel and nice review! .. i have just 2 questions .. 1. what kind of material is the bridge on the suspension (sherman s have plastic) 2. Doesn't the move of the suspension scratches on the battery boxes?
I’m trying to get some research done for my first ever better than training wheels wheel after about 5 months of walking in the shoes of the king song 16s. Lovely wheel. Perfect backup wheel.
Hi Jack, thank you very much for all you are doing for us here, your tests, your improvement suggestions etc. Much appreciated. I have one question/request for you to ask to Leaperkim: As an owner of Sherman S I really would like a new firmware with the features of the Patton, too. And with that I mean setting the cutoff angle for riding in bike parks and the added stability when landing from a jump. Thanks in advance for helping us Sherman S is not left behind.
I got an issue with my veteran patton . Bought it a year ago and everything was going smooth till yesterday . After charging it didnt want to turn on . I assumed it was the cold weather of 27°F where the euc was standing on but then i brought it to where temps were @ 77°F and nothing . It is fully charged but doesnt want to turn on . I click and hold the power button and it.turns on but as soon as i let go of the power button it shuts off. If i press and hold and shows all logos on the screen then dissappear and what comes up is the sleep timer 0 icon . Anyone else experience this ??
It does look good... I just wish they made the Sherman S a 126v wheel too. Pretty sure they'll test their system on the Patton and then upgrade to a Sherman S 126. I need more torque ... I overpower my master too often. Only the EX30 seems to fill my need but I'd like to get out of begode wheels. I switched to the master because I overpowered the Sherman Max too often and the suspension is a nice plus.
@@pedrogabrielsalviano Well, the ex30 has the c40 magnets. It should translate to higher torque since the master has the already torquey c38 magnets. In general, at a given voltage, if an euc has more rated power but the same top speed, it has more torque, and if it has the same power but less speed, it has more torque. It holds true beacuase power is torque x rotationnal speed, therefore if rotational speed is the same, torque increased.
Jack, are the jump pads comfortable? Is it possible to ride in a staggered stance with them on? Can we expect any more content on the Patton? Range test and top speed run or a tear down video? Thanks for the review!
at 11:15 you compare T4 and patton, but your captioned graphic says sherman s vs patton, and also is backwards in terms of which side the graphic is on
Hi, I'm about to buy a new unicycle, and here in Brazil, there's only the option of the Sherman S and the Patton. Which of these do you think is better? Which one has the highest torque, highest speed, highest stability, and the most suspension?"
Thanks for getting the Patton review out so quickly. I was not feeling the crash test at all. I would never throw a $3k wheel into a wall, and doing that doesn't match the damage of a high speed crash while riding. I hope it doesn't become a thing in future videos. I loved the riding footage though. You really showed how nimble and fun it is to ride. The built in jump pad is cool. Good point about the available seating area being small. I also enjoyed hearing the spec about the tire. It is not 16", but closer to 18".
Thanks. I am betting that it hasn't the braking force of the Sherman S. There is nowhere for the kinetic energy to go, unless they have included super capacitors in parallel with the batteries.
Braking distance should be significantly less than Sherman S because a smaller wheel applies greater force when all other factors are similar, except tire size. Currently, braking on the V13 is still being tweaked but Sherman users report good braking, and the Patton should be fine. There is footage in this video of Jack descending an ~35% slope at constant speed, which indicates very good braking. When Wrong Way does his review, you'll get your answer. Your concerns are valid.
i have the t4 and i love it I am kind of new to EUC riding I'm just now starting to get my euc to beep at me lol. this patton looks nice but at the price point i think i would just go with a sherman s or the new commander as of now ill just keep using my t4 and mten4 and when I'm 100% ready for more power maybe my dream wheel will be out i would buy the sherman s now if they made that in the same Volts lol.
This might have to be my first deposit on a wheel! Looking forward to seeing how things develop. Another question V13, S22/pro, EX30, or Commander pro?

@@official.electricdreams we know, you are in time pressure:)
@@official.electricdreams Your effort is much appreciated. This new wheel contender ain't no pretender!
You also misstated that the T4 has "5000 less" watts. It's actually 500.
The design is so aggressive, I love it. Reminds me of the batmobile in 2008 Batman.
Typo at 11:38 just so you know, you wrote Sher S instead of T4.
Great video, thanks!
I loooove the idea of the integrated jump pad thing that's not just glued in
that was great crash footage, especially the last one, watching it tumble and twist and bounce - you could see all the contact points of the wheel and they looked tough.
I agree. Other wheels on utube where totally smashed... So sad to watch.
EUCs are really evolving, getting amazing! Nice review
Jack,
Awesome early and very thorough review! I'm loving the Veteran wheels and the Patton looks to be just as awesome as the Sherman Max and S. Really looking forward to seeing more testing!
Be well

Finally a suspension wheel I'd buy. This will be my new tail wheel for sure.
Love those crash tests. That’s how I park my wheels, I just jump off at 30mph and let ‘em crash into whatever.
You treat your lovers like that too? lol Just kidding couldnt stop myself
@@pacochawa2746 Yep, lol.
Ahh yes, I've used that parking method a time or two as well 🤣
It's impressive how fast you get these wheels. Great review, and a nice comparison with the T4.
Yeah i bet this one costs a thousand more than the T4 too
t4 just took a dive for sure...

Thanks for the content !
Even though it doesn’t have smart bms, Patton is still a nice wheel with capable abilities.

Fantastic wheel. 16in is really remarkably nimble. If they bring the weight down, it's the perfect wheel. Love the wider rim and tire.

Those hills it's going up are nuts! I really do fancy getting rid of my Sherman for something with suspension.
Can't wait to see more of this wheel.
I really love your crash test. It should be done with every wheel, so you know if it is stroung enough to fall before you buy one

Wow! Thank you for the video!
I really appreciate the crash test! I am a bigger guy and durability is a major concern. I think the Patton may be my 1st EUC 💪💪

I feel like a slightly larger battery or a 90 mile range and improve the suspension a bit, would make this a killer mid-size wheel from veteran.
Well done!
That looks sweet! Just how much?

Now Im second guessing if I should get the SS or this.

It’s like a lemfo watch, and android pocket phone basically
How is the weight distribution compared to the v12? I can't imagine it's much better since is heavier.
Which suspension weight did this wheel use and what is your geared up weight?
