Kevin is absolutely brilliant and a gentleman. He is the last of his kind that put English engineering and quality on the map, with a hint of class at the same time.
@@thomaselliott573What's wrong with you man!? Only destructive comments!!! If you don't like it, don't waste time and energy on this!!! What a negative way to spend energy and time...
These cars are just incredible. Vintage styling, modern performance in a light weight car, artisan built, tactile materials, just perfection, and most importantly they seem to be built to be driven, rather than simply sit in some billionaires garage as an investment. Just wonderful to see cars like this still being made.
The most interesting thing Kevin told us was that not ONE of the owners of Dino Evos have ever sold theirs - this is a proper driver's car, and a keeper ;)

I met Kevin once, I was with my wife and we picked up some framed Pictures from him, He is an utterly lovely man and took the time to show us around and chat.
He is teaching young people the arts involved with creating these beautiful cars. Wheeling new panels in steel and aluminum, gas welding seams etc. 20 years ago I was was getting involved with this sort of thing, I built an English wheel, I was restoring 1950s and 60s Alfas, then did rotisserie restorations on three Jaguar XK-Es. Those days are gone, I haven't run a bead since 1998, but I would love to get a mid-60s Alfa GTV to restore.
Kevin mentions 1.5 - 2 years goes into each. 1 man, 12 months = 2000hrs. In those hours are jobs never seen, a part of him goes into each car. I watched my Father restore many, from a field with a tree growing out of it to winning awards. Appreciation for dedication to engineering skill.
Yes, but unfortunately ends up being a ridiculous price in the end. At 100 pounds per man hour (very conservative) ......... you are looking at 200,000 in labour alone ...... crazy really
I wonder when you compared the Dino 246 with this model you considered the age of the total package and engine condition. Original Dinos are as Kev said like me in quite poor condition and rot boxes compared with the cars Kevin has worked his magic on. I remember testing and setting up Dinos in the late '70s and they were rocket ships back then. The work Kevin is doing cannot be underestimated to restore and improve on one of the greatest V6s road cars of the era.
As a north American I could never understand how Ferrari could design such beautiful cars like the Dino and early 308s with such low BHP and torque!? My last 308gts could barely keep up to a Honda Accord even though it was gorgeous!
I'm not even two minutes in and I can see that you're a very charismatic person your channel deserves serious exposure and I hope you get it. The production is great you're obviously very passionate and knowledgeable individual, and I hope you achieve tremendous success in this platform my friend.
the first time i´m going to watch a Dino restomod, if i could drive it i could tell you the diference as i have one since 1973 in white in reality i wanted a yellow like Miles Davis had, after a few years no one wanted them i even had to decline a red one that was being ofered to me by what today is 1.000€ but as i said no , more times the guy would tell me" 600€? "this with at the time money or "120 contos?"
Thoroughly nice fella doing some very special things with those cars its great to see and i hope some young guys are being taught this stuff because its the sort of greatness that needs to be past on. Well done you fellas.
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this video and it's my first time viewing the channel and I have always liked Dino's and this resto mod version is excellent in my opinion. I have also subscribed to your channel and I'm looking forward to seeing the progress on your car.
This is awesome. My 1st 1/25 scale model at 12 years. Im 57 now still have model but no real one YET! My 69 corvette looks just like a Dino. They were designed at same time across continents. Love Mr. Lee’s evo Dino. So cool. Thanks for great vid. I sub’ed like I should. Cheers
I hate green but that latest 308 I've seen on videos this year is to die for. these gents are the opposite of my other favorite Ferrari loon's(loon is the outstanding huge balls kind of way)I'm a bob Norwood fan but he's on a different trip where as these cars are built for men who actually use cars as their intended purpose. people should only be able to brag about how many miles they were able to put on it. outstanding facility and hell of a bunch of top notch mates!. cheers
For a wealthy gentlemen, this would be a nice car to have. The Dino is rather unique. For an ordinary individual, it's uneconomical to say the least. A new Mustang GT or something a bit newish is much more doable.
Ahm mate, you missed the fact that the dino 2.0 and 2.4L V6 was also used in the Fiat Dino spider and coupe. The thing that Kevin misses though in putting V8s into the Dino is that it actually ruins the nature of the car. The Dino V6 is not just about power but actually about finesse. The Dino V6 is an orchestral symphony. The V8, sadly while sure gives more power misses out in the aural splendour and with its flatplane crank sounds simply like a highly tuned 4cyl engine. So in my view it’s a huge mistake to ruin the ethos of the Dino. In simple terms leave the Dino alone and enjoy it for what it was designed to be.
Dino is a FIAT..... the engine was used in FIAT 130 and some more. Ferrari was almost bankrupt and FIAT the owner then made Dino and it saved the company.
@@lauralonghi6383 Make it strait then!! Give us the truth.... Is it with a V6 engine..... Was and is FIAT the owner of Ferrari.... What is inaccurate here!!
With all the Porsche independent outfits doing restomods, reimagined, new carbon chassis that look like a water cooled vintage 911 there is certainly room in the market for a new reimagined Dino.
The extra weight of safety and environmental requirements would kill the performance. You only have to look at the new Red Bull road car. The 246 was a daily driver, not some posing Instagram opportunity with huge air intakes to let the farts out.
Great video,, not a big fan of Ferrari's.. but will bow down to incredible workmanship.. my son and I are 90% done on custom restomod Jaguar XJS.. was just appraised very high and stated by Hagerty, to be one of one now..

Amazing project. I still remember the first time watching the red Dino from Toni Curtis on TV in the early 70’s. 😊😊😊

Looking forward to the updates (on your car and that 600 hp beast).
And liking the new wheels on Kevin’s car. They just look more correct.
What a lovely guy !! Hopefully get to see more of his car builds
Would rather have this restomod than any of the new ferarri offerings 😊
This thing SOUNDS so AMAZING!
Suprised that Ferrari haven't gone after this Fella 4 making changes & showing Ferrari up . Good 4 him .
These are fabulous vehicles. I'd love to see one with the front indicators deleted and moved to under the bumpers and a stroked V6
Awesome, really superb. If my numbers did come in, this would be on my dream wish list ! So glad these cars even exist, a true pleasure.
