This was a great video for anyone (myself included) who loves Dino's, and classic car restorations ! Keep the classics on the roads, not only in museums !
My all time favourite car, from watching “the persuaders” and Tony Curtis driving the Dino as a kid I was mesmerised by this car. I probably will never own one, but if I win the lottery then my first call will be to Kevin and his company. I really enjoyed this programme, thanks.
His Dino is absolutely stunning! This project sounds amazing, i look forward to seeing the end result. I will also be playing the Euro millions tonight to get enough to place a order for myself
100% original vs restomod, each to their own, no right or wrong way. I personally prefer restomod because it combines the grace and beauty of previous times integrated with modern understandings, technology and materials - love the video..thanks.. Chris (NZ).
I think this is one of the most beautiful machines ever made! The deep dark red paint looks perfect. This guy has great taste. A manual 458 engined Dino, that’s gonna be so mad! Crazy American 😂😂
11 yo when I got a scale model of a Dino in 1978. It was my favorite model I ever did. So exotic for a kid from Maine. Still love this car in 2021 and believe it’s still the most beautiful Italian designed body. Curvy, and just Pretty to look at.
Agreed. If your dream car won't start when you want it to...it won't be your dream car very long. I bought a 1967 MGB GT to restomod. When I turn the key, I want it to start in any weather. Beautiful body with an engine that works 100% of the time!
Fantastic video! Kevin reminded me of ‘Barry the Baptist’. I would love to work at a place like this, the engineering and hand crafting is just gorgeous.
Really interesting video (as a former non UK based RHD Classiche certified Dino (after the restoration I initiated) 246GTS chairs and flares owner that when I bought it was basically undriveable) this really gives a lot of superb info - sadly a former owner...!
Excellent stuff. I cant help thinking that the main man's 246 (mule) is going to get mistaken for a DGt 306 GTS kit car with those wheels though and that would be a crime. Superb craftmanship, very impressive operation.
Stunning .. and an interesting point made about matching numbers .. very relevant if a historically important car (e.g. Le Mans etc), but less so for others. I guess also only an issue if you see these as an investment.
Well spoken by Mr. O'Rourke especially regarding modifications to a street car. This thing about matching numbers for cars built in quantity is ridiculous.
I've always wanted to see someone put a modern Ferrari V8 Twin Turbo in a Testarossa. They have more HP than the old boxer 12 cylinder. 385hp vs 710hp in the F8 Tributo, almost double the power. There is certainly enough room in the engine bay.
amazing stuff and if wealthy, would be in the queue. However the arch extensions are simply awful - the entire arch needs pulling out, c 30mm - more like the 288 GTO :) - You can add that to my bill....
interesting.. I have a question...the cost? ....just curious as it is the only thing not mentioned but I am imagining at least twice the price of a new F8? or maybe even a way lot more than that .So for example the 308s up on the ramps, the red and the black one, what would be the approximate cost for a finished car? , bearing in mind a standard 308 GTB is about 70k pounds sterling for a reasonably good one , a Ferrari Dino that is roadworthy is 200k -400k, so are we getting towards a million quid for a modified Dino? Or is that way of the mark? If it is way off the mark I wouldn't know whether that would be an overestimate or an under estimate!!!!
Such linguists the Brits. Thirty years with ferraris and O’Rourke still pronounces “Classiche” like “ Corniche”. It’s not a french word, in italy we say “classy-keh”
Enzo loved his son so much that when he died quite young (he was a mechanical genius) Enzo named the Dino after him, that's why it's not a "Ferrari" but it is really.
An original spec Dino 246 seems like a really expensive car for that restomod. It probably lost some of the value of an original car versus restoring to its original condition. OTOH, 308s are a good deal less valuable (not cheap, but under $100K US). That makes a 308 it a more reasonable base for a restomod - sort of like the relatively low cost Porsche 964s that got Singer started.
Germany and the EU have banned all combustion cars after 2030, from 2025 on there will be only very limited fuel supply, only one gas station per city or county....
This guy is building 25 Dino's for David Lee in America, David Lee owns the black one with the silver 18" alloys. David Lee has commissioned these guy to build the Dino's and David is selling them. They left all this part out
Interesting how little airtime foreign/italian classics get until they get a BRITISH restobuild. ”Aaaaa the Alfaholics! Aaaaah the MotoTechnique!” Doesn’t matter if a maroon 246 w illfitting gold wheels look shite. 😄 Not saying they’re doing a bad job - just pointing out a certain oldschool british protectionism. 😊
You and me both ! It's been used in a couple of James Bond film, a few TV series, McLaren use the track for testing....... Oh please use another circuit.
It's Longcross Proving Ground near Chobham in Surrey. I did my Defensive Driving course there in the '90s and been to a few car demos there subsequently. It's useful for testing and filming cars like these because you can drive as if it's a normal public road, albeit with no speed limits and only whatever other traffic you want to introduce. That's why you see it a lot in films and TV.
I don't see the point in desecrating a Dino in this way. I had two Dino's during the late 70's and never felt the need for a bigger engine with more cylinders. The car is beautifully balanced and plenty fast enough for the UK (or anywhere else in Europe for that matter). Classic cars are NOT all about top speed or ultimate 0-60 times. The V6 sounds way better than the V8 anyway and is easily tunable.....my second Dino was uprated to nearly 240bhp without ruining the original concept. Those awful gold wheels are really bad, even the diameter is all wrong - but at least easily removable!
Gold Magnesium Campagnolo and Dymag rims were "De Riguer" in the late 70's and 80's weren't they? As for desecrating the Dino by uprating the motor and running gear with later Ferrari items, I don't agree. As the chap on the video said, there were over 4500 of them built and people have been tinkering with them since the start. I know if I had half a million quid invested in a Dino Restomod, I wouldn't give a flying f**k what any "purist" thought about it! There is an argument to say that modern bigger wheels detract from the aesthetic, but I think its outweighed by the availability of decent rubber in the larger sizes. I really love the old high profile tyres though. Vive la difference and all that.... :)
v true, to a point, even my old mx5 is great on its original 14 inch wheels, mediocre at bigger. It depends if the car is designed from the ground up to be perfect of course, which id say was the intent with the Dino but at the same time Its a Ferrari , so who can tell :D
They would not be my choice, I think they look just about OK.However: in another interview Kevin defended his choice as they were from the same 360 that the brakes came from, they had to be bigger to get the discs in, so maybe not the best look but the correct diameter.
custom classic car restorers = creating automotive jewellery = artisans of great talent !
This was a great video for anyone (myself included) who loves Dino's, and classic car restorations ! Keep the classics on the roads, not only in museums !
Brilliant. These are some of the most wonderful cars ever made. Great to see them being kept alive.
Talking of the 458 engined Dino going to "re-write the Evo book". Can't wait to read that book!!
My all time favourite car, from watching “the persuaders” and Tony Curtis driving the Dino as a kid I was mesmerised by this car. I probably will never own one, but if I win the lottery then my first call will be to Kevin and his company. I really enjoyed this programme, thanks.
That was my entry into the "Dino Dream" too… hooked!
His Dino is absolutely stunning!
This project sounds amazing, i look forward to seeing the end result.
I will also be playing the Euro millions tonight to get enough to place a order for myself
I honestly think the Dino is the most beautiful car ever made. I love what the Moto Technique team have done. Amazing.
The Dino 246 GT is my favorite car of all time! Loved the video.
100% original vs restomod, each to their own, no right or wrong way. I personally prefer restomod because it combines the grace and beauty of previous times integrated with modern understandings, technology and materials - love the video..thanks..
Chris (NZ).
Had a chance to meet Kevin at pebble beach and closely look at the black F-40 powered Dino. Very wonderful gentleman. Love their work and vision.
Love the "Rosso Kevino" - superb!
Oh my holy ... this is brilliant finally Ferraris can get modified like Porsches
do not compere Dino to Porsche the dino is far nicer than the german car
Outlaw Ferrari - This shop does amazing work with these classics
Amazing work - love that they’re able to add and not subtract from the beauty of the originals.
Absolutely fascinating video , the black Dino on those original style 18 s is stunning
I wish I had this sort of money 💰😎
My god!!! I’d be in that workshop every day if I lived down south!!! What a fantastic company!!
I think this is one of the most beautiful machines ever made! The deep dark red paint looks perfect. This guy has great taste. A manual 458 engined Dino, that’s gonna be so mad! Crazy American 😂😂
Wow that Dino restomod is one of the best looking cars I’ve ever seen...my first thought was I want one 😍
11 yo when I got a scale model of a Dino in 1978. It was my favorite model I ever did. So exotic for a kid from Maine. Still love this car in 2021 and believe it’s still the most beautiful Italian designed body. Curvy, and just Pretty to look at.
I like the line, "so exotic for a kid from Maine" and it's these wonderful experiences of our childhood
that helps shape who we are.
What a nice bloke and what beautiful cars is he creating fantastic

That headlight mod makes the front end even sexier
David Lee's 246 evo is my grail car.🤗
The maroon colour is sublime
Love the rims on the black 308
Looks like the same road Mr. AMG test drives on. Excellent story in every way.
Fantastic video! Kevin reminded me of ‘Barry the Baptist’. I would love to work at a place like this, the engineering and hand crafting is just gorgeous.
Outstanding. Really enjoyed that!
Great video. I wish @collectingcars would do more like this. Thank you.

Excellent, really interesting thank you 👍
the small shock absorber for the rear exhaust is just amazing...no ugly rubber bushings here..!!!
Stunning .. and an interesting point made about matching numbers .. very relevant if a historically important car (e.g. Le Mans etc), but less so for others. I guess also only an issue if you see these as an investment.
I see a vid featuring a Dino and I click on it, give it an immediate thumbs-up, then settle down to watch 👍
what if they were slagging it off? Is that how you vote too?
Shop owner is pure class!! ❤️
What a sound guy Kevin is.
This car is very special and I love it
Well spoken by Mr. O'Rourke especially regarding modifications to a street car. This thing about matching numbers for cars built in quantity is ridiculous.
You can drive these cars as far as you want and know you can get home... classic cool.
Best paint job ( candy apple red) I’ve ever seen.
Beautiful work being done
Am I the only one who was relieved when they found out the Dino in the back wasn't an EV conversion?
Great video. This guys shop is amazing and very interesting. When I win the lottery - I will buy from him.

Absolutely awesome. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Wow, i want a manual 458 engined Dino.
proper job👍

Wish I had the know how, imagine what these guys are raking in?
I’m fortunate to know Father and Son.... both geniuses in their field 🙏🏻🙏🏻
i always feel geniuses should be spelled geniui :/
Great vid
Great content.
Anyone seen david lee dino with a 355 motor.its on the Jay Leno channel
Oops.was mentioned in this video. Yes greenferrari car is gorgeous
Is that the bright green Miura who's restoration was covered in the wonderful "Supercar classics" magazine, many, many years ago?
I have never been happier that I don't have a 308!
Maranello should build that last one..epic
Next....a Dino GTO...500 hp.
that black 308 gtb looks mean
The original Dino 246 is for me. If I could afford to modify it then I would own another one.
interesting.. Went around the world for 25 years, at her majesty’s pleasure
Lovely example of the Dino but, I'm wondering why, if the car was initially sold to someone in the Lebanon, why is it RHD?
This is my favorite Ferrari (i have built a scale model of the car the only way i can afford one!)
Fantastic car.
Please lose the kitsch gold wheels
This...hate them. Too big and destroys the proportions in my view.
Love it except for the gold rims. I would have chrome/silver myself.
I don’t know why Ferrari doesn’t just remake the Dino again as close to the original. They wouldn’t be able to keep up with the demand!
Now I know where my lottery winnings will be going. Must remember to buy a ticket.
Such linguists the Brits. Thirty years with ferraris and O’Rourke still pronounces “Classiche” like “ Corniche”. It’s not a french word, in italy we say “classy-keh”
Put the correct style number plate on it though.
Could this guy take a donor Tesla S Plaid and convert a Dino Evo to battery? 0-60 mph in 2 sec.
Isn’t the Dino not a ferrari? Like.., it is but it wasn’t sold with the ferrari name on it?
Enzo loved his son so much that when he died quite young (he was a mechanical genius) Enzo named the Dino after him, that's why it's not a "Ferrari" but it is really.
Resto mod are alright but still one should preserve the genuine mechanical engineering from that time that is also quite important .
That black 308 Berlinetta is porn.
It looks like Darth Vader's personal transport.
..If I were a rich man......

Until they realise net zero is nuts, then they will push back the deadlines for net zero.
At 00:23 I lost my s*** !
@4:35 “From Lebanon it moved further south into the Middle East”. Apparently he forgot the name of the country south of Lebanon.
#Defendisrael
Ferrari Dino v12 246 Jay Lenos is best one
This guy is building 25 Dino's for David Lee in America, David Lee owns the black one with the silver 18" alloys.
David Lee has commissioned these guy to build the Dino's and David is selling them.
They left all this part out
The gold wheels on the Dino are absolutely disgusting I hope that’s just a testing decision, and not permanent
Not keen of the wheels on the red dino
Enzo would've approved...
Sure wish I were rich.....
There is no such thing as a "Ferrari Dino". It is a "DINO". The badge on the Hood and the badge on the steering wheel say "DINO". Common rookie error.
Good video, but, basic point....don't cross the line mate, it's very confusing for the viewer even in these days.........
Hate the rims on his original Dino
Those Modena wheels look hideous on that Dino...

Hillman Imp perhaps?
@@PazLeBon Prob a huge hit yeah.. 😄
Interesting subject but just another video where the interviewer does all the talking and very little is leaned from the expert.
Getting so sick of seeing that bloody closed-road track on every single YT channel.

@@timgosling6189 took a 911 turbo s around there a couple of years ago and done a few dualathlons there too
I like it. Cars can be hammered in a real world scenario. And compared apples for apples.
I'll happily design a new shop logo to see that back of that signage out front.... what on earth....? Looks like a pub sign.
Pub signs have been keeping people away from pubs huh?
non plussed means confused, not indifferent.
This guy is wreaking Dinos. Get him off that stuff.
The red Dino shouldn't have those modern gold wheels on. Ruins the classic overall look.
Oof... sad.
