Yeah the town where I live, some people walk their dogs on leashes to go poo then pick it up after, other people just open the door to let the dog go unattended and poo wherever it wants to. And I’m not racist, but there are differences.

Me too! We are the only two people in this whole comment section that worried about the outcome of the dog. For the record, I would have jumped in if my dogs had somehow gotten out of their leashes.
I am not white but I love my dog… I am driving over 1 hour ( each way) 2 times a week to Pisa, Italy so I can get him laser treatment for his arthritis! I would chew his food for him, if I could… I too would jump in a river for him! I already have! He is the only being who I know loves me no matter what in ALL of Italy!

Tbf I quite love all of my pets but leaving my child fully alone, possibly forever if I drown, is not a line I’m willing to cross. Moral of the story keep your pets on leashes and away from bodies of water.

I just looked this up! This happened in 2009, apparently the river was in full flow after days of rain, which makes the whole “3 days of nice weather” thing hit harder. What surprised me most though is there’s no update on the dog, sure we can all probably guess what happened but all the article says about the dog is “dog fell in the river, end of story”

Natural selection. The child is better off without parents who prioritise a dumb smelly dog over them.
I loved my husky and would do anything for her. But if I had a child, my child would come first and I would most definitely not leave my child unattended, it would be heartbreaking, but you have to have your priorities straight and your kid should come first.

The same thing happened recently in Argentina. The parents left behind a 9 year old son, who jumped in after seeing his parents drowning, but he was rescued.

I just looked this up. The wife jumped in first and then the husband when he saw her struggling. And just last year in oct another couple drown trying to save their dog, their nine old watched the horror happen and even jumped in to try to help his parents but he was rescued.
