- A last minute decision to backpack from the remote Inverie to Glenfinnan in the west highlands of Scotland. Wild and remote - note this if you wish to hike in this area.
Links below for anyone interested in any of the places within. The Forge is a great cozy and welcoming pub, but the food was disappointing - a burnt breadbun and very small portions of chips for which we waited an inordinately long time!
The Campsite relies on honesty for payment, we were charged £12.00 each for one night's camping in the tent, for this you can see the excellent views and composting toilet but no showers or other washing facilities. We didn't mind...

I think it could be my favourite tent to date Ian, better even than my old Tadpole 😱 It’s a lovely time of year too… lambs bouncing around everywhere, kestrels hovering, blossom everywhere. Happy Springtime 😍

A super nice route to the Bothy Sue and I mean the village included. You were spoiled for views and hey luxury along the way. And to have the Bothy to yourself. I mean it can sleep 8 say meaning it's no doubt popular. Shells for spoons. I imagine that was a fun and tasty meal. A great time had. All the best. Mark

Great video! Serendipitous timing, I’m doing the same hike in a couple weeks and then walking back to mallaig. Where did you continue onto? Was there any pans at the bothy? Planning to travel light and will just eat cold food if there are no pans as travelling alone I need to be as light as possible 🙏
Hi! Glad to be of service! We are currently on the Cape Wrath Trail, so this was a bit of a last minute plan & a warm up before the event. There are no pans at Sourlies, but there is a kettle at Corryhully. The area around Sourlies is really boggy but has dried up slightly lately due to dry weather. Druim bothy is lovely but there’s a charge to stay there & it’s locked. Hope you have a great time, do let me know if you want any further info, happy to help. Greetings from a soggy tent! 😊
