I just think this song is about 2 people who try their best to be "good" but end up failing and find comfort being who they are together, the white wings are small while the black wings are huge showing that she tries to hide her true self to fit in at the start but ends up just being who she is and enjoys it.

This song breaks my heart. The first relationship I ever had played to the tune of this song. I sent rachie's cover to my best friend, and she confessed her feelings to me that night over a call we were on in the middle of the night. Less than three months later it ended with the heartbreak of being told that I didn't make her as happy as she thought I could. The notes of this song will always carry the emotions I felt over that stretch of time, feelings of happiness, love, heartbreak, and regret of what could've been if I were better.
I don't know whether you've gotten over it, but remember that you didn't fail her. Relationships aren't always about happiness, sometimes they're about helping eachother so you can reach the happiness, it doesn't always come soon at all. I can assure that you are a great person too, and that you didnt fail her ^^
