A couple years ago we had compost delivered... put it on my veggie garden and all I had that year was a garden full of chamomile... so I harvested it by the five gallon bucket , dried it, and thats all I got out of my veggie garden that year lol.... ugh! Im STILL fighting the chamomile but its less each year- never again!
Now I get my compost from farmer neighbors or my own chicken flock instead of commercial.

Thank you for this inspiring post. Of course my fav part is when it fast-forwards thru all the tedious work and reveals the result

Yes it’s a lot of work but it really is a blessing. We weren’t meant to sit. Looks beautiful. I just found you so look forward to more videos. I’m over in Washington State.

Yep, I got nutsedge and morning glories in the "garden soil" I had delivered, and I knew that because it took a long time for me to get it all put down, and it rained, and the weeds grew in the pile! Now I just want to try to make my own mulch with leaves in the fall that I mulch up. Maybe that will be the cheapest and best for the soil.

So frustrating. I'm going to lay down Preen and mulch over. I love the idea of compost instead of mulch, but I think I may need to switch for a season or two to get those weeds under control. Good job making your own mulch

@@edgygardener2826 Preen? Like poison stuff? Are you sure? That is harmful to the very organisms in the soil.

It's sawfly that leaves a very small green worm on the back of the leave. Spray early season on underneath side with neem oil. Love the garden.

Thanks for the tips! Do you think Captain Jacks Deadbug will do the trick?

so satisfying! I love your black lace elderberry and think I may need one for my garden! (also Central IL) a bit north of you. Glad you made it through those storms relatively unharmed.

I know there were some storms a week after ours up North. Not sure if that's your area. I will sing the praises of the Black Lace. I think it's so pretty throughout the year. Thanks for stopping in.

my roses have the same leaf problem....does anyone know what is causing? Neem oil did not help mine either. something is eating them.

Another viewer said it's sawfly thats doing it, and that we should spray early in the season. I'm going to look at what will deter sawfly. I'm sure a organic Bionide product should help, just don't know which one yet
