Comming upon this channel feels like I just stepped in a dojo with one of those 90 years old kung fu masters whilst looking for someone to teach me martial arts. Great advices extracted from your experience, and told in a down to earth way. Thanks alot for taking the time to share all of it.
Thank you - this is very helpful. I recently discovered the "just sit" option for myself and it really is helpful. If I'm having trouble understanding a topic or feeling mentally fatigued or stuck, just spending a few minutes with my eyes closed or staring out the window really can be refreshing and give me a renewed sense of focus. It's great to hear that it's helpful for you too!
I recommend Cal Newport's "Deep Work" for anyone that wants a whole book on this topic. It's excellent, and it's the first book I read at the beginning of every year.
It’s not on how to create mental stamina rather it’s about how to create focus so it isn’t really related. A better solution would be can’t hurt me by David goggins or bulldog mindset concept by John sonmez. I read deep work and it didn’t say anything about mental stamina.
This really opened my eyes from being so narrow minded. I used to think I had to give it my all even when I was drained, that there where no excuses, that I just had to get it done but, this really helped me to compromise with my ego and it allowed me to work hard but also give myself a break. And thx for the studying strategies those really helped aswell.
your videos and writings and advice are like treasure for real i am so so greatful that i found you recently you are scott young the academic gold ... someday i want to meet you . cheers from Iraq
Scott, this is a really nice video. I had been searching a lot about how to build my stamina and read various articles about the same . I stumbled upon your video. It’s by far the best advice that I have gotten. Thanks mate:)
I'm struggling to focus on this video. Right before I started watching this, I promised myself I wouldn't fast forward it or daydream. This is really hard. I need to train my mental strength
Rodolfo Oliveira when was I a jerk? I just said turn up the volume that’s not rude and I sent a video that was supposed to be funny. And when did I say anything about her English? Never. Audio works fine with me that’s why I recommended turning up the volume. As far as I know you are the jerk here because you are claiming I am for no good reason and you claim I said something about her English which I never did.
1. Obsessive project
2. You can just sit
3. Positive feedback loops
4. Top heavy
5. When in doubt shorten time

Scott, please buy a better mic or use your cellphone earphone's mic to record the audio because it is too low.
Agree, very complicated to listen
I can hear the talk perfectly! ;)
I had no problem hearing him, and I have a bit of hearing loss from past employment.
He should at least edit the audio, it's not hard to do.
Buy earphone and plug it in window 10. Enjoy.
This got me through school and marathons.

Great insights from my favorite super human!
very relatable ty
I think the key is to do it even if you don’t feel like it.
have you heard about the bulldog mindset or david goggins?
The efficiency of studying severely dips after 30-60 minutes.
