The Lunda Poison armor is definitely missing in this list! It's a absolute monster with which you are able to melt every enemy and bosses. With poison you lower the level of the enemies so they deal less damage to you and you deal more to them. On top of that you will deal 40% more damage to them with the gauntlets and belt!
I’ve been using this since that part of the story that opened this area. First thing I did was go get it! The way I have it set up shreds everything! It’s a really fun play style for those aggressive brawler type players for sure!
Used Lunda armor set with the Vanaheim enchantments for the majority of the game. Some of the tougher Berserkers required switching to the Steinbjorn set lol
Honorable mention: The Survival gear, the one you get from the beginning of the game once you upgrade it up to level 7 it boosts all your stats. So it’s pretty balanced. Only downside to it is it has no perks. However, I’m not to big on perks anyway. Shoulder Guard of Survival: Boosts all stats maxed out. Wraps of Survival: Boosts all stats maxed out. Belt of Survival: Boosts all stats maxed out.
Another mention. The basic equipment for shield, blades, and axe all do the same. Makes for a very well balanced end game build if you favor raw stats over perks.
That Vanaheim second area took me by surprise. I thought it was going to be just a quick mission, but was welcomed with one of the coolest map designs in this whole series. Elfheim is also beautifully designed but I wish it was more opened and wider, instead of long corridors. Lots of potential for what's to come. Japanese mythology is going to be the best.
Had fun with the steinbjorn, berserker, and lunda armor builds even used the steinbjorn chest with the maxed raven tears gauntlets and waist for a broken health regen build (most op) because you damn near regen the whole life bar but my new favorite build is the realm shift build with the radiant armor and the realm shift relic and amulet that double your damage during realm shifts also using the realm shift pommel, hind, and grips to maximize the realm shifts. Everything is always in slow motion hahaha
"even used the steinbjorn chest with the maxed raven tears gauntlets and waist for a broken health regen build (most op)" Yeah the Raven Tears bracers and girdle are excellent for health regen as generally there are always health and rage drops being dropped during battle and out of battle. It’s simple and just a reskin of the default but it just works so well. And the color scheme of red and gold is just so Kratos. Not that I have an issue with Kratos in a shirt, but they cover his incredible design which is another reason why I prefer the straps. Being able to have the stats you want with the gear you want is one of the best decisions they made

The berserker set is definitely the best. I agree with some people mentioning how good Lundas set is and I enjoyed it as well however the set up required to apply poison can be tedious and inefficient in many fights. If you pair that with the amulet socket that makes your Wrath attack trigger and explosion off of all status affects near you it's a pretty fun combo but again the set up is annoying at times

@@Mr_JesseLee_23 well the berserker is a good choice because you can go ham after using a relic with the bonus damage. Absolutely nobody talking about the Spirit set and it astonishes me. Straight up a 45% damage buff to ranged and melee after using 3 runic attacks that lasts 20 seconds and can be refreshed at max stacks with one runic attack. It also has a 10% chance on any hit with your equipped weapon to refresh 20% of that weapons runic abilities so you are almost never without this buff. With this build I was able to almost always get Gna to half health on give me balanced everytime I opened on her.
I personally like the Giptumadr's chestplate and the berserker pieces for the gauntlets and waistguard, as all pieces give pretty great stat increases and each piece gives blessings of cooldown and can essentially give you infinite runic attacks and relic uses. These perks are very nicely complimented by the Runic Hailstone Knob (pretty good chance to give gifts of runic when hitting frosted enemies), the blade grips of the nine realms (high luck stat + realm shift when activating furious immolation) and the hind of weightless recovery for the spear (blessings of cooldown when hitting enemies while Maelstrom gage is full).
I wad searching for someone that used the same set. There's a abity for Freya that reduces her cooldowns too... I really don't know why they don't talk more about this setup
Fun fact. Survival gear ( the first armor u get ) when upgraded has the best stats overall over any armor. No perks sure, but the best stats. Basically the only armor i used when i noticed. In my opinion its the best looking as well since its not too flashy.
Thank you so much for this video it helps so much. I always thought that the guiding light armour set was the best but then I tried the Berserker Set and it was worth all that effort and it is now my main armour set
Survival and Raven tears are the best ones in my opinion. Not only do they look good and simple, but the strength and defence is surprisingly great. That aside with enhancements, you can easily increase the strength to full.
It’s all I use and I until the game gives me a reason to switch I won’t. I use the belt and bracers for the slowing down time mixed with the Alfheim amulet set to increase my damage on my next attack.
I really like the OG chest armor for the stats. Also using wooden knob maxed out, steel handles maxed out, and the survival waist armor maxed out. Big stats. Melting everyone.

I started with the Nidavellir armor till mid-game then I tried the Raven armor briefly till I was able to collect the Steinbjörn armor and now I stick to it. To me this one is the perfect combination of the 2 previous armors. In fact there aren't any bad armors in this game it just depends of your way of playing the game. So far I had no problem, I've been able to finish almost everything (I'm currently doing the trials of Muspelheim and it's ok however I'll see when I'll have to deal with the King and the Valkyrie, might need to switch of armor set if I struggle too much 😬).
I have the radiance set up to level 7 and I'm absolutely loving realm shift. And I like how it looks. Curious to try other sets. Is it worth mixing and matching pieces from different sets? Lmk what you guys are running
Best looking for me goes to the Fate Breaker set. I completed as much of the game as possible before starting the final chapter, maxed out several sets of armor, and ended up sticking with the Fate Breaker through the final chapter.
I am so surprised no one has mentioned the Vidar's set fully upgraded you can melt any type of enemies this is my build each peice fully upgraded Vidars Pauldron of Might Chest 116 strength 68 defence Vidars Brace of Might 115 Strenght and i use the Steinbjorn Waist Guard 118 Defence. I used the Hunter's gear to beat Svipdagr The Cold And Sisters Of Illska. For my technique I killed the twins first, I know there are other ways of doing it. Then later I used the Berserker armor to beat King Hrolf Kraki, I still mainly used range but the Berserker armor allowed me to benefit from the Blades of Chaos. I went back and forth between those weapons during that fight. I wouldn't have known about the Hunter's gear unless I saw it here first, so thanks!

To prove to myself that I can hang with the best of the best for 1 moment in time.
I don't like the way the Dragon Scaled armor looks. But I do generally prefer the heavy armor look. There are some beautiful looking armor sets in this game! The Raven Tears is my favorite for looks. And it made the game a lot easier. But the Steinbjorn is gorgeous too and might be the most practical overall. It makes the crucible even more of a cakewalk. I found the hardest enemies in this game to be the Berserkers, and it is hard to focus on picking up stones while trying to dodge their attacks. So maybe the Steinbjorn armor would have been the better choice.
Dragon armor is my fav because its the only late game one I completed :) Didn't even realize that I had the raven one and all I needed to do was go open the chests. I thought I needed all the ravens.
Thanks for that video friend. I didn’t know nothing about waking up those Troll’s. No idea if it can be considered good but the spiritua armor could be good with its high cooldown and it working well with runics. Chestpiece grants you 15% increase to melee and ranged dmg and stacks three times depending on wether you hit a enemy witha runic atk. The arms and waist has the effect of them having a low luck chance of restoring your cooldown for the currentlu equipped weapons runic atks, 10% if you have one piece on and 20% if you have both the arms and waist pieces on
Basically every armor in this game can be upgraded to max and have a good build be made with it. I like this way better than how armor was handled in the first game
I was using Lundas armor and I didn't look at its perk, I was being destroyed by one of the berserker so as a joke I did fists only. I got him first try using fists. The poison effect can be OP
Surtr's scorched armor is the best imo, high attack defense and vitality, with jotunheim's set on the amulet, ull get massive increase in rage aswell, build focused mostly on melee, if u want to be tankier go valor rage, if u want more damage then wrath.
The undying pyres set for me. The immolation buildup, paired with the right enchantments, and handles, grip of the nine realms for instance, make this set cut through bosses like a knife through butter. Sad it’s not on here.

I’d be curious to see a runic build. Sindri’s dwarven armor set in the 2018 god of war was soooo legit. I guess the closest thing to Ragnarok would be the fallen stars. But sindri’s armor stats benefited both runic and cooldown. So i feel like the fallen star set just doesnt quite do it as good
There's the Luck armor for cooldown reductions and arm/waist for runic dmg, to combine with amulet stuff. It's the closest imo. Sorry i didn't use the actual names haha
you can't transmog your armour until it is lv nine and they have made it so you have to go to musplehiem to get the embers, i used tyr's armour all through the game, but having seen how hard gna is to do as well as the berserkers i don't think i will plat this game.
I want to see either berserker or dragon armor are the best cause the stats are pretty good, as well as the abilities, but I may mean towards the dragon armor more because it does have even stats

I just noticed something about the Steinbörn set. I has the most defense in the game, and can even heal you. What does the name sound like? Stubborn. It’s funny that the “stubborn” armor, makes you really hard to kill.
I forget what it’s called but I use the armor set that increases Kratos attack power when he has more rage and also makes his rage function as back up health in emergencies And I used the matching sets braces and belt because they were no nonsense about such and such a chance based on luck, just straight up unconditional stats & finisher damage boost

I started a new game+ run yesterday and it let me keep the black bear armor, cloak and all. It’s its own full armor set
This is my exact setup!
I wad searching for someone that used the same set. There's a abity for Freya that reduces her cooldowns too... I really don't know why they don't talk more about this setup
Fun fact. Survival gear
( the first armor u get ) when upgraded has the best stats overall over any armor. No perks sure, but the best stats.
Basically the only armor i used when i noticed. In my opinion its the best looking as well since its not too flashy.
Yup I've been using that armor more than anything lol
100%
Thank you so much for this video it helps so much. I always thought that the guiding light armour set was the best but then I tried the Berserker Set and it was worth all that effort and it is now my main armour set
The Pyre set once you get to Muspelheim is so underrated. Such a good offense armor
Is the smouldering brimstone set in this game?
@@sle2979 no, but there is the endless Pyre and Surtr armour sets, surtr is pretty good for strength and vitality
Survival and Raven tears are the best ones in my opinion. Not only do they look good and simple, but the strength and defence is surprisingly great. That aside with enhancements, you can easily increase the strength to full.
Im using the ravens set rn can you give me more information? Just got the game couple weeks ago
I like the slow down time when last second evade armour set, suits my playstyle so well.
I’m with you, I used the bracers and belt. Use the dragon armor top for the blocking and Parry
It’s all I use and I until the game gives me a reason to switch I won’t. I use the belt and bracers for the slowing down time mixed with the Alfheim amulet set to increase my damage on my next attack.
The survival armour set i think is pretty powerful when fully upgraded with the relm shift
Ravens Tears is my personal fav so far. Made a heal / regen build around it, has been pretty solid!
Been using the raven set so far can you give me more info on it
radiance armour >>>
it slows down enemies around you for 1.75 seconds if you dodge at the right time, making dps easy.
My favorite armor set so far is the default one, it gives you an insane boost in ALL stats once you upgrade it past level 7
I am currently rocking the Sol's armor. Is this an OK armor or should I focus on Lunda & Nidavellir ? Im still early in the game
I really like the OG chest armor for the stats. Also using wooden knob maxed out, steel handles maxed out, and the survival waist armor maxed out. Big stats. Melting everyone.
I really hop Santa Monica releases the fur coat armor that Kratos loses in beginning of the game (cover art armor)
Currently rocking a Steinbjorn Armor where everything is max except the gauntlets. Using luck enchantments. Which make me regenerate health while fighting. Broken af
Drop build
@@paulpaul3798 ua-cam.com/video/naTAruRlyf8/v-deo.html using this build but i don't use the same waist Armor as him. Also weapon pommels don't matter imo
Best armor set Is the might ones you get from the start, the entirely strength focussed build is the best one
Ive been using the the fallen star breastplate to reduce the damage taken during runic and relic attack + surturs bracers and surturs waist guard to reduce damage while attacking normally, so yrah pretty much a defensive armor
The radiant armor is also super useful because it gives you realm shift if you dodge attacks
Definitely would love some build videos. Love the Dragonscale armor, but not sure how to truly bring out its true potential
Total stats including everything else is 537 strenght which is maxed out and 449 defance which is almost maxed and you can get the armor sets mid game maybe a little bit earlier and have it maxed out around the same time too just make sure you finsh all the challenges in Muspelheim for all the materials
My personal favorite set was Surtr's armor set for completing the Muspelheim trials.
Starting armor, Raven armor, steinbjorn armor, nivadallir armor I love those armors especially when you combine them
I used the Hunter's gear to beat Svipdagr The Cold And Sisters Of Illska.
I have a very successful build using some of these armors,
Dragon breastplate
Surtr's schorched arm
Beserker Waist armor
Hilt of hofud
The furious maul
Deadly obsidian handles
Mighty olympic handle for spear
Asgard set
Vanaheim set
Seal of runic storm
Emblem of the nine realm
Valour enchant
Mardoll sword
And, everything else is your choice!
Lunas armour is the best the poison melts and it looks the coolest helped me defeated the bosses with eaze
I used steinbjorn chest and raven tear bracers and waist really nice healing buff.
I use “Vidars Armor Of Might” you get it at the very start of the game and I use strength over anything else so. I fully upgraded it and transmogged it to be the fully upgraded “Raven Tears” set
Can you mix the Berserker Curiass with both other pieces of the dragon scales armor?
Thanks man hope i get one of them especially tyr armour too
Vidars might set, Manis wisdom set, lundas armors set, and last but not least the Survival Armor set
What yall think better the raven armor u get from the kill odins ravens or the lunda armor? They both dope but i just got them both n ion know which to use lol 🤔
I had no idea you could transmog thank you.
I have a new game plus build that is on the verge of OP, the steijnbiorn chest armor and then berserker armour on the arms and waist, attached items on the weapons that buff damage. Damage is high due to the berserker amro and weapons, its has 460 defence out of 500 and health regen due to the steimbiorn chest piece. I really recommend
The survival set while it has no perks or gimmicks if you upgrade all peices it maxes out all stats I believe.
Best armour that no one uses use 3 jotunheim stones and collect all mead and apples and your literally as well rounded as it gets with a ridiculous Rage bar basically cheating
Not full bars but pretty close, it's a got a good spread of perks, good for an all around axe swords spear style. Too bad there no ng+ to try them out on. Ive run out of enemies
I learned and got all these armors purely cause I like exploring and completing puzzles
When my nephew asks me "Are you STILL playing god of war? "
I say, Yes because I Finally almost have the The full set of Dark doo Armor of Shartedturd from the Smelly Mist of Farten Hiny heim. XD
I just need 500 more Fart Echoes from the Bubbling Pits of Snotin heim
XD
I like to come up with fake gross sounding things that sound like it actually might be in the game. Because it's more interesting than telling them the torturous truth, that I must defeat the hardest boss in the game because I like to die 1000s of times in a row apparently before finally putting together a respectable fight. To prove to myself that I can hang with the best of the best for 1 moment in time.
The Doubleply Mega armor from the Strong hold of Wipegard. It is found in the Turd Smeared Halls of Steamin Hiny Heim XD
the surtr armor set is pretty good too
Love that you're doin GoW Ragnarok content now man 👍
i just use surtrs armor, helped me beat the berserker king in 3-4 tries after testing out his moves ✌️
The survival armor set has to be one of the best armor sets Stat wise at max level
So OP and for All Stats 😂🤣
The husk heid armor set gives you the most defence. If you add some enchantments and weapon add ons you can get aver 500 defence
You forgot about the crystal armour, it lets you take less damage while doing runic attacks, while also charging runic attacks while taking damage
Thanks for that video friend. I didn’t know nothing about waking up those Troll’s. I have gone all….. the way through the game except for a few Berserker’s and Gna Gos she is worse than that Valkyrie Queen in the last game but can u tell me what is the best way to Increase ur strength I have my defence at it must be near 800 now but my strength isn’t at 400 I am finding this game much tougher Cheers 👍😀
Lunda armor was good but late game on no mercy it didn’t make sense to even look at lol.
Is it necessary to use every piece of a set or could I mix and match?
hmm. Got platin trophy today and never even knew you could animate those troll statues... they should have included that in a trophy somehow.
As a Sekiro player (7 ng+) I love parrying the Berserkers they r my favorite enemies
Great video 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾 straight toward no bs 🙌🏾
I’m using surtrs armor set I enjoy it and it looks badass
No idea if it can be considered good but the spiritua armor could be good with its high cooldown and it working well with runics.
Chestpiece grants you 15% increase to melee and ranged dmg and stacks three times depending on wether you hit a enemy witha runic atk.
The arms and waist has the effect of them having a low luck chance of restoring your cooldown for the currentlu equipped weapons runic atks, 10% if you have one piece on and 20% if you have both the arms and waist pieces on
Basically every armor in this game can be upgraded to max and have a good build be made with it. I like this way better than how armor was handled in the first game
the raven tears set is my favorite, got it maxed out and plan to use to end the game
I was using Lundas armor and I didn't look at its perk, I was being destroyed by one of the berserker so as a joke I did fists only.
I got him first try using fists. The poison effect can be OP
Very informative, thank you!
Hello sir how to get more dragon claw??.im done battle with 4 dragon.one at niflheim after get all rqven right.but now im need one mored dragon claws for full armour upgrade.can get materials again?
I forgot to mention the one at dragon beach you can use the mystical heirloom on
I want that Dragon Scales set so bad, gotta grind.....
Raven tear helped me get far in the game but know im using the Dragon armor
I used darkdale all game looked awesome and scaled really well I was level 9 in the wrist mid game and 8 everywhere else
I love how you were a rank 8 but Vitality was at a 2. HAHAHA. one hit and you done!
you can't transmog your armour until it is lv nine and they have made it so you have to go to musplehiem to get the embers, i used tyr's armour all through the game, but having seen how hard gna is to do as well as the berserkers i don't think i will plat this game.
I want to see either berserker or dragon armor are the best cause the stats are pretty good, as well as the abilities, but I may mean towards the dragon armor more because it does have even stats
I like the Fate Breaker Armor the best and also the Flawless Curass of Ares and Zeus. The purple armor and blue armor sets are cool too! Can't remember what the names of those are though.
What about the wraps of survival when level 7 they are able to increase all stats
the Survival armor is the best armor if you upgrade it to level max
I just noticed something about the Steinbörn set. I has the most defense in the game, and can even heal you. What does the name sound like? Stubborn. It’s funny that the “stubborn” armor, makes you really hard to kill.
I’m currently farming mats for the Dragon Scale set, I usually explore and finish all maps/areas before moving forward with the story.
Gonna need to 90% the story to finish the armour
I forget what it’s called but I use the armor set that increases Kratos attack power when he has more rage and also makes his rage function as back up health in emergencies
And I used the matching sets braces and belt because they were no nonsense about such and such a chance based on luck, just straight up unconditional stats & finisher damage boost
I don’t care much about stats. I just like every armor on Kratos in Red color. As long as damage is good then let’s go.
