Thank you so much for your video. I really appreciate it! I was able to knock it out, and I never would’ve thought to line it up with the bottom piece once it’s in there so that saved me.
Awesome job thanks
I got noise coming from the fuel pump, does that mean anything. I got this 2014 Passat I've done got scammed on and now it's my mess. I've done replaced, Timing Chain, timing magnet, Valve spindle, Coil Packs, New Spark plugs all VW OEM parts, ball joints rotors etc, so I said if i got this car to last one year I would be happy, shit it made it 5 months and now the car is shutting itself off, so I thought maybe a fuel pump I took the seat off and checked to see if a noise is coming from the pump, it is. is that enough to say a pump is going to work or should i just replace it.
They’re usually pretty quiet
Thank for doing it as fast as you can.... 😂
Was there a separate strainer? I could not quite follow that part of the conversation. For my Passat (2015, 1.8), the VW description of the fuel system includes a strainer (it’s more than just that plastic piece that he pulled out) that attaches to the bottom of the pump, but the replacement fuel pump assembly does not include the strainer. Any idea whether the strainer needs to be replaced along with the pump?
the hose going onto the top of the pump from the engine on mine isnt locking back, i cant find the hose instock anywhere, any suggestions?
I thought I stumbled on a Nascar fuel pump replacement pit stop for a second! 😂 I was able to find out what I needed though so thanks for posting this! 🫡
Thanks for the comment. Hope you enjoy the video. What other jobs do you have coming up?
He had places to be
@@GremcoGarage I did enjoy the video very much! I am redoing all suspension components and engine mounts on my car. Again thanks for the video!
@sausagelinksys4360 I believe we have other videos to help you out with the mounts if needed
@@GremcoGarage I will be checking them out!
UPDATE! I just finished installing the fuel pump and I gotta say.. your experience shows! It took me 20 minutes to change the pump and I consider myself to be pretty good with my hands!
The hardest part was getting the bottom portion of the pump along with the pickup tube all in at the same time! I cut my wrist up because there just wasn't enough room to move around!
Hats off to you again! Keep up the great work! 🫡
Any codes thrown before this repair?
Thanks Fer Nuthin’!
How did you take the new pump apart ? Mine has what looks like a small metal c type clamp preventing it from coming apart
Sounds like you’re taking the wrong thing apart
I love how he's beating the shit out of all these sensitive parts lol tossing them around like nothing
That’s the difference from working at home versus doing it when you have parts laying around if needed
@@GremcoGarage haha I feel you. Hey I just bought this replacement for my 2015 Passat yesterday. Changing it today. The plastic top part cracked and is leaking fuel. I dont think the new one came with that long tube thats down inside the tank. Should it have???? Or is it fine to reuse the old one?
I have the same question- what did you end up doing?
@@th3pianoplay3r I just used the old one. It was pretty simple to swap. Took me less than an hour.
Nice

Thanks for the comment. Glad we could help you out.
Damn bro you don’t have to speed run it 😅
Did the car smell like gas for u to find out it needed a new fuel pump ?
Mine threw a code EPC
My car smells like gas. Did you ever find out if that was the reason?
@Gera0620 I'm in the same boat. Wondering. I was told and read it's the seal of the fuel pump.
Mine had a strong smell of gas, and gas pump was cracked from the top and was leaking fuel.
Same in my 2014. Mine was cracked at the the top of the pump. Easy to check. Pop that rear seat off
Damn bro you didn’t have to speed run it 😭
Gremco garage, I would never ever take a car there for repairs, just looking the way this this guy is rushing through the job, as easy as it may be, give him no reason to hammer, drip gas inside the car, pull parts roughly, etc. Not professional! Gremco garage, not an option!
First of all, that job only pays 0.7 hours. So yes, we hurry. That's how we get paid. Using a hammer is literally the OEM procedure on almost every make/model. As for fuel drips, a few drips may land on the metal but is easily wiped clean or evaporates. This is why we have waiting rooms, for customers like you. This is also why you're not an automotive technician and pay us to do your dirty work. Get a life.
