The reason you recognize the standing on the motorcycle is because JCVD did it in Hard Target, as well as kicking the guy in the helmet off the motorcycle. This movie is Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Hard Target, and the Quest rolled into one

At least they ripped off JCVD who is in still better shape than Seagal and much easier to understand with the Belgian accent. If they ripped off Seagal then would they have used the arms flailing while running move? Or claim this guy is Native American despite this taking place in Europe?

As someone else stated James Bennett now works in Hollywood and as well as movies also has a Dojo. Fatal Deviation was shot in Trim County Meath in Ireland where they also shot at least two other movies , not quite as low budget, Braveheart and The Big Red One. It started out as a showreel for James and grew, All the "actors" were locals , the Gangster boss was local Solicitor (Lawyer) Michael Regan . The lad that got kicked over my Mothers garden wall was my brother Peter Crinion (and yes the cry was real ) . James works with JCVD regularly and they are friends. Best of all filming of the sequel starts next year (2023) with I suspect a much bigger budget and real actors. to be fair James had a dream and the ambition and determination to go for it and didn't do too badly out of it. When I see Fatal Deviation I see a bunch of friends who went for it and had a load of craic (fun not the illegal drug lol) and fair fu*@ks to them. Proud of you Jimmy..

A word of advice, Jason. When in Ireland, please observe the proper local etiquette: "as you enter a local country pub, please remember to dropkick the doormen, as is tradition, and enter to sample the fine ales and local produce. Then, shag someone else's bird, before doing some crime for a very well-spoken, nice gang-boss and buy a lovely car" This film is trying to elevate your sophistication, don't you see that ?? :)

Fun fact, the main villain of this movie was a member of the Irish boy band: Boy Zone. They had a number of top hits in Europe! Also the guy who came outbin his just his underwear and got ass out in the outdoor bath was the person who financed the movie and wanted his a scene in the movie!
I learned that little fun little facts from when OSW (Old School Wrestling) Review did a review of this movie. I have to say your watch along was just as funny as their review! Not gonna lie for a moment I though some absolute legend had made a small budget movie with traditional Irish martial arts. Those actually do exist and are broadly separated as Dornálaíocht (boxing), Coraíocht (wrestling), Speachóireacht (kicking), and Bataireacht (stick-fighting).
Now the first 3 are kinda basic, but Bataireacht is a martial art about fighting with with bata, the Irish word for stick. Mind when they say stick, they actually mean a Sail Éille (anglicised as shillelagh). So it's quite big stick.
And there is actually a story to go with said martial art that would make for a good movie.
During the 18th century the martial art was used by Irish gangs, called factions. There were a lot of fight and clashes back then. Then in the 19th century those smaller factions ended up uniting in two feuding large federations: Caravat and Shanavest factions.
As the fighting between them grew more savage, the martial arts were cast away for the use of guns and improvised weapons.
There is a lot of meat in Irish Martial Arts is what I am trying to say.

I can’t believe Im actually seeing this!
I was going to recommend it to him but glad someone took the initiative!
Jason mentions the flight scene but didn’t show it , basically “Seagull” returns from his (secret mission) in Hong Kong .
Hops out of the plane and the old guy goes “how was Hong Kong”.. only it’s an absolutely wrecked 2 seater Cessna that would barely get to England , never mind Asia!
But this is completely True. Around 2008 my buddy was finishing film school, and because there was a bit of a cult following of Fatal Deviation , and just for fun he arranged a screening of it in another mates pub in Dublin city.
Only about 100 people ended up coming..
But No Joke , Jimmy Bennett IRL wasn’t happy, threatened to “Kick his head in” then said he’d sue him and the pub.
My mate was just laughing at him , but he actually went as far as getting a lawyer to send some type of a cease and desist letter.
Total douche! It was actually a pretty funny night just like this review except about 100 pretty drunk people absolutely destroying every aspect of this horseshit!! I’m not sure but I think some of the songs were sung by the dude from boyzone.

I think of the episode of the old British comedy series The Goodies called “Kung Fu Kapers.” To quote Wikipedia. “Under pressure from the other two, Bill reveals himself as a master of the secret Lancashire martial art known as "Ecky Thump"-which mostly revolves around hitting unsuspecting people with black puddings while wearing flat caps and braces.” A viewer died laughing while watching it. This film is based on the Irish Branch of American Kenpo, which is why you see the form (and yes, that was a real Kenpo form. Coming from older styles of martial arts as my base, I'm gonna put this kindly - they are...unique.And I'm sure they have applications behind them that mean something to the Kenpo community.) and the name of the movie is actually the name of an American Kenpo technique. This movie is basically if Jeff Speakman's "Perfect Weapon" did an Irish Pub crawl, while also ripping off Jean-Claude Van Damme.

The reason the film looks stretched is that it was initially shot/broadcast in the PAL format instead of NTSC, which we had in the USA. These formats were based upon the electrical cycles and refresh rates of monitors (60Hz in the USA/Canada, some places in Central America, and 50Hz in Ireland/Europe, etc. There was also SECAM, but that’s another discussion). These cycles dictated how the images were displayed on older TVs. Many European counties had PAL/SECAM broadcasting standards, which were higher than NTSC. The PAL image was scaled to fit an NTSC TV resulting in the squeezed effect you’re referring to. It’s a lot deeper than that, but that’s the short version.
