Haha thats exactly what i was thinking. Its a bit of a throwback with a fresh enough sound to be something new entirely in a way.... excited for whats to come from Shotty... wont say i dont miss that grimey non-stop rhyming though
This guy and his band are fantastic so creative and real he opened for a local Canadian band and gained at least two serious fans in me and my fiance. So unique and great
Old school Manchester meets new school Manchester I love it. Please make more songs like this ad buy a album full of tunes like this... This needs to be on the radio and the charts
Get in Shotty! That's more like it, something different. Love it. If you're going to sing it's a great touch going more down the Liam G routh that T Pain! Wish more people did that.
Found Shotty years ago through DF and could see so much potential. Dude has been making steady waves. Versatility seems to be no problem, even hear a good Frank Carter vibe with this. Keep up the good work!
from cali, i fuck with shotty since 2014. all respect. nothing but support from over here. i hope he blows all the way up and does it super chubby style.
this kid is the fuckin truth , hes got that manchester sound , love it , very liam G , with a touch of roses arrogance , love it ,brilliantly written , best music ive heard the libertines , im a big fan now
This is what we should be expecting from Shotty now. Don't know if anyones noticed, but info about his latest album has been leaked on his Spotify about page. _Shotty Horroh, the acid-tongued, viral battle rap legend, is dead; long live Shotty Horroh rock n’ roll star._ _On debut album Salt of the Earth, Horroh arrives like the fire-breathing love child of Liam Gallagher, Alex Turner and Sid Vicious: spilling the true blood of Manchester’s council estates, snarling at a system built to hold him down._ _A natural born hustler, Horroh discovered he had a natural talent for technical rhyming whilst whittling days away on the street corner. Eventually rising to become arguably the world’s best battle rapper -- at over 10 million plus views, his battle against Arsonal Da Rebel is the most watched English-language battle of all time. Before long, Deadmau5 came calling and soon he was hanging with Jay Z, moving to Toronto and becoming a star of King of the Dot._ _That era came to a sudden halt in May of 2017, when terrorists attacked Horroh's hometown._ _Raised on a steady diet of Manchester City, Stone Roses and Oasis, when a guitar broke out one night in practice, the kernels of Salt of the Earth began to pop for Horroh. On songs such as “Shudehill,” “Alien” and “Dirty Old Town,” he digs deep into the reality and rubbish of modern life. It's the sound of a nation -- indeed, a world -- in crisis, told by its prodigal son._
How did I just now find Shotty? ... UA-cam recommending me all this new, modern sorry excuse for music, and then there's a gem in the mud like Shotty...
I like Shottys singing here. Makes me think about how great his trap hip hop style of music could've worked out with it. Shame how everyone was hating on him for going that route. He could've done some really creative stuff. He scrapped his 2016 album, Yall got what you wanted 🤷♂️
This song fits so well with what’s happening right now, especially with the nhs, places like shudehill working their fucking arses off only to be punished more by rising taxes, keep it up shotty, you’ll be heard by the right people one day
King Schlong hahahaha race has fuck Al, to do with it and in my opinion shotty is a far better lyricist than all of these and would most definitely piss on all of them in in a battle, you chat shit mate
King Schlong to be fair mate, it's just a matter of opinion and we should be glad that there's still people actually spitting sense on tracks oppose to the shit that's coming out of the mouths of like gucci gang and Lil fucking pump, absolute twats
Dude this is amazing your new style is so unique in the game and is your base player called Matt cos he looks like someone I know and also COME ON CITY!!!!!!
"We've never had nowt, we're still rentin the house; we're still payin for the couch. Landlord tryna kick us out, debts poppin up in big amounts - i aint tryna stick about. I was just a youngen thought i had it all figured out, tryna grip an Oz in a drought.. Coz theres no jobs goin and im down for the count!" welcome to the Uk
Always rated Shotty. Always thought he was ahead of his time lyrically but also thought he was arrogant and condescending towards the crowd the way he over explained his punchlines and stuff. This new song however is just straight up great. My favourite track from anyone in a long time.
GEARSFIFALUFCx Shotty is one of the best lyricists in the country and still hasn't reached the levels of success he is due. He's managed to find a new sound That bleeds authenticity but is still engaging to commercial listeners. He'll still be spitting that fire for a long time and I'm interested to hear what he comes up with next.
Fanboys in the comments moaning that this isn't a standard tune. Shotty wants to evolve and isn't gonna spend every remaining day and bar just rapping about blazing zoots and banging groupies. This is like getting another new local artist who is absolute fire so just embrace it. Just because he's singing doesn't mean he'll never spit in his tracks again. If Shotty 2.0 is like this but a bit less bar lite then he'll pick up way more fans than he loses.
bz2886 definitely think there is middle ground though. The best part of this song is definitely the rapping. If this is an outlier in his final body of work i wont be disappointed but the real potential here is to incorporate other sounds / elements into the style he already does so well rather than move completley away from it.
Adam Jones - I would be disappointed if rap didn't remain a cornerstone of his catalogue too but it's nice to see him developing, exploring new content and diversifying as an artist.
Also... riding a smoke cloud to a pile of pills is what he says... he isn't sat on thousands of them just blazing away so you might want to have another listen as well and actually pay attention this time.
This is definitely a departure from his usual kind of content and I'm not too mad about that. It's the style that makes me a bit concerned about what's in store for the future.... this is definitely the furthest I'd like to see him go.
The swagger of oasis, the honesty of the smiths and the lyrics of shotty 👍👍

Not at all, he mentions it once in the chorus. It isn't the topic of the whole song.
