RM always said it was a struggle writing Black Swan, Louder Than Bombs and Bulletproof The Eternal for Map of The Soul. He said in a conference for the album that he’d often leave the studio crying working on these songs. They’re all really personal as they’re showing what they would consider the “weak” parts of themselves to their fans that rely on their music. All about their inner fears of losing their love for music. But as we know now they are on their well deserved rest and break and will come back together when the time is right 🙌
So many songs hit differently after the FESTA 2022 dinner. We learned what they were struggling with throughout the pandemic beyond what the rest of us were (lockdowns etc). Not only were they unable to perform live, but all their carefully crafted plans for solo work had to be put on hold. I cried so hard during the FESTA dinner seeing the pain they were in (and had been in)..all for us. It made me feel guilty as ARMY to be honest. I am so happy they are getting to branch out now and be more themselves. I hope they will be able to come back together refreshed and renewed when the time is right.
@@TaylorCanada8 Right. And also for Black Swan for the longest time it was like 'What IF we lost our passion for music', but to hear that it had actually happened a little...
@@KIMLYSTEAR Exactly...it's heart breaking. I think a big part of it is burnout though. It's actually shocking that they didn't burnout earlier with the pace of work they maintain. We are continually blessed with new content and they were being filmed for a good chunk of 10 years. It must be exhausting. I hope this change in group activities will give them the renewed passion that they need and feed their souls. They so deserve it.
This is such a special song. Probably my favorite BTS song out of all of them. The song isn't about an internal conflict, it's BTS seeing the sadness and pain beneath the cheers of ARMY. They're recognizing that so many of us have darkness in our daily lives and letting us know that they are aware of how much their music means to us, how it helps us through the darkness. They promise to keep singing for us, Rather than asking us to look at the brighter side, they'll be that beacon in the night for us and they'll sing for us endlessly. It's kind of a sister song to Bulletproof: Eternal. Bulletproof: Eternal talks about how much ARMY means to BTS. This song is the flip side, BTS commenting on their awareness of how much they mean to us. They know that ARMY will always be there for BTS and this song is their promise to always be there for us.
There is some internal conflict too, though, because while they are expressing that awareness of our pain and what they mean to us, they are also expressing their own pain and their determination to rise above it in order to keep being there for us.
@@ashleyder9164 Well, to me, that isn't really a conflict but more uncertainty or insecurity. They aren't questioning whether or not they should be that beacon of light for us, but whether or not they are capable of it. A question that's answered by Yoongi when he asks, "If not us then who?"
RM said he wrote this when he saw the pain behind ARMYs smiles and cheers once. Love him so much for his empathy here. He was reading some comments from ARMY....
This was originally made by Troye Sivan and his team and I think BTS and their production team made all the korean lyrics Sometimes songs have many writers until it gets finished and released.
Yo Lucy! Shout out for getting Knox back on the BTS grind. There are so many amazing songs that need “Knoxology”. 300 songs and growing. We’re here for it. 🙌🏼
This is one track that tops ARMY's list of songs they'd love to see performed live... RM has commented that it's difficult to perform - and I'm sure he means both technically and emotionally. We are a very blessed fandom for how deeply they share their vulnerabilities with us.
RM actually did the vocal and rap arrangement for this, and after hearing your analysis I now realise how effectively he did that! This was originally the first song Troye Sivan ever wrote and it was called Hologram Hearts but they sat on it for years and didn’t intend to use it. Eventually BTS heard it and loved it so much they wanted to put it on the album and rewrote the lyrics.
The first time I heard this song I felt it down in my soul .. it is the dream of BTS's fans to have them sing this song live because they never did so far .. but because of all the technical details you are talking about, they say it is impossible to do it live .. I still hope some day they will find a way to do it because its our dream .fantastic reaction, I glad you found all the inner meanings of the song, you are truely listening 👍👍💜💜🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜
The boys didn't say that it's impossible to sing it live but that it's just a very hard song to perform live. and like when u take into account their usual concert setlist plus length of their concerts if louder than bombs were to be included it has to be very very strategically placed because for example it can't be after their medley because no matter how awesome their stamina is they'll be out of breath. But at least they r aware how much we love the song and want to hear it live so there is still a very high chance they'll put it in for the next tour
@@ashleyder9164 Honestly they probably don't want to disappoint the fandom so they are leaving hope alive. I've seen the look on RM's faced when he's been asked about it being done on stage live and it really looks like a 'soft' no.
@@shadygladefarm That may be the case. I'm not speaking on whether or not they will do it live. It is still misinformation to say they've said they won't do it or that it is impossible to do because they've said neither of those things.
I don’t know anything about music or the Korean language but I just loved this song. I don’t follow BTS but this is without a doubt one of the best songs I’ve heard from them, and now one of my top 3 BTS songs that I’ve ever heard. Definitely holds the number one spot currently in my favorite BTS songs.
And like others have said, BTS said it would be difficult to sing live but not that they wouldn’t. I imagine that it is a lot down to the heavy weight this songs holds emotionally (RM has said how hard mentally he found it writing his lyrics). But also if you think how high energy their concerts are and how they fit the songs in to flow, it would be a tough one. But never say never! ARMY love this one because the message means a lot. Thanks Lucy!
I love the progression from "Louder than bombs I break" to "LTB I say" and finally "LTB I sing". Such a dope song! My own personal thoughts is that it's directed at the fans because I've always tied in that first line about the unfamiliar shadow amidst the cheers to the rest. Almost like they're saying no matter what kind of kind of burn out and dilemma they're going through they will always sing for us. But as always your interpretations opened my mind even more as sometimes I can be get stuck on one track! Thanks man.
The lyrics of this song have the meaning that BTS's career journey so far has not been easy. A lot of hard work was done to achieve it. Success is always accompanied by pain, which can explode more powerfully than a bomb, Success is always accompanied by pain, which can explode more powerfully than a bomb. But if all together can overcome obstacles, and through the darkness together. We Army expect them to sing this song at their concert,
Can’t say enough about how I enjoyed your reaction to this masterpiece. This was voted as army’s fav song to hear live. Listening to the base, the harmonies and knowing the message never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Thank you.
One of my favourites too! It's haunting and sounds amazing in headphones. If it hadn't been for the pandemic then this would have been on their last album before they closed Chapter 1. I guess with that context you could definitely view it as about their careers and as a bit of reassurance that even though they were going through a dark time they would come back. Really grateful for this breakdown Knox. Thanks pal!
Louder than Bombs and Don't leave me are my two absolute favorite BTS songs, and I'm so happy that you reacted to this one! Your reaction was very interesting.
I really don't think I have ever seen anyone react to this song, never mind their musical background or preference, who was not blown away. It is absolute genius in every way.
It’s so good to see BTS back getting the Knox Hill special analysis!! Hoping this means more to come and also maybe even the BU! But very appreciative of this. Louder Than Bombs is THAT song.
I love this song. It makes me cry especially when they that no matter the waves they will continue to sing towards us. Ugh. I wish them to perform this soon. Is so underrated.
RM has given me more songs containing favourite lyrics than any other artist in the last 20 years. His ability to write multiple layers and meanings into songs. How he uses Korean. Where one word can be used as a modifier to make a phrase have multiple meanings and each of those be relevant. For me in this song he talks about and acknowledges the pain everyone is going through, ARMY and the band.
I love how your reactions are not superficial, not done for the clicks but done because you really enjoy the music, understand the process & genuinely appreciate their talent.
Well RM said it would be difficult to sing live for obvious reasons but not that they wouldn’t! So you never know. Wondering if you could check out the whole Map Of The Soul album? So many songs become almost new songs and stories when you listen to the album as a whole 🙏
This made my night! Thank you 💜 I will always appreciate their stance on being as open and vulnerable as possible to their fans about everything through their music. When they come back properly in 2025 it’s going to be insane. In the meantime hoping you’ll be enticed to keep going through their disco Knox 😉
As a fan who can only understand their music from how it makes me feel and reading their lyrics, I really enjoyed how you broke down the production and lyricism in relation to the theme.
Hi, the song is about the shadows of their career , about things happening by other people ( like haters , media ) doing the imposible to make the mfans hate on them or made them look bad to the public , making the fans feel sad , but BTS is telling they accept that , but not matter what happens in the game they chose ( them and their fans ) they will keep singing to their fans cuz they love that. In sugas part is referred to a controversy of people online saying that BTS , specially him use mental health to get cash from it ( since they use it in their lyrics ) , so that’s why they were “hypocrites “ , so suga in a interview said something similar that he wrote which is “ if we don’t talk about this thing , who will be ? “. I think the change in tone in the repetition of that part it’s referred to him saying it that in a lot of interviews where people ask them why they talk about things like mental health in their songs. This song it’s part of the “shadow “ part of the map of the soul : 7 , which there is a reference in Dionysius and then is presented in Interlude: shadow, later all the songs are about it until ON which they accept all their archetypes. I recommend you to listen to that full album to get the whole journey of acceptance that BtS does. Pd: A LOT of BTS lyrics are referred to circumstances they lived on those times. So people who don’t follow their journey it’s hard to tell what’s about. For example , don’t be surprise when BTS comeback they have song about how they felt in the military or what the media said about them while they were there or stuff like that.
Goes to show how much I know! I always thought Suga’s last verse was just auto tuned but man the way you explained how they did that and the comments about the mixing…you’re the goat reactor!
ARMY holds this song near and dear. We are probably hoping and praying that they perform this song when they return. To me this is a gorgeous, haunting, sad and scary all at the same time.
Man so happy you did this one and that you got to revisit BTS (thanks Lucy). There are many more like this 🙏I see this as they're talking directly at the fans, maybe from the stage if I picture it, and they are saying that they can see that darkness behind the smiles and understand life isn't easy. But that whatever happens and whatever we all go through they will be there and will keep on making music that matters. I really enjoyed how you interpreted this because it adds so much else to the bigger picture. This is what I love about your reactions! They are like a collab project and the discussions we all have opens up new possibilities. Your dissection of the production and unique pockets was so interesting too. Thanks Knox for being the best at this!
i seriously love your bts reactions - these are songs i listen to all the time, and i know every note but u present so much new insight, technical evaluation and knowledge (esp about rap technique) that i hear each song differently and appreciate them that much more ... also - not bad for a b-side track, eh? it's been voted an army fandom favorite and we wanted it to make the ptd concert setlist so bad but it didn't ...
It is also a little bit of a misconception that they said they would never perform it live. They’ve performed plenty other difficult songs live haha! When BTS members go live there are always so many different translations that some take more steam than others. But what RM said was that it’s a challenging song for the vocalists, not that they would refuse to perform it live so that doesn’t rule it out. Though they have closed on chapter 1 so it is a little unlikely. Still it’s effective in the existence it’s in now. You should check out the song connected to this - We are bulletproof: The Eternal (you’ve reacted to Bulletproof part 2 but not part 1 or The Eternal 😊) So. Many. Connections.
Louder Than Bombs is a HEAVY fan favorite ... this is one of my favorite of their songs of all time. And yeah, this is 100% them singing as themselves, as artists, to us, their fans. They seem to be saying that they see the pain that often shadows our own cheers for them ... how we turn to them to help us through our own pain. And though they also struggle and are often in pain, they promise they will always sing for us. I love them so much. =(
With the knowledge and hindsight we have now that ‘Map of The Soul 7’ was supposed to be their last until after the military, I think it’s amazing that the entirety of that album was a frank exploration about their fears of losing the fans, the music but at the same time it was about discovering themselves as humans through the Map of the Soul concept. Adding the other layer of reassurance that they would always return to “sing endlessly towards us” no matter what because that’s the game they chose and love. It’s brilliant. I highly recommend that album Knox as it will give other songs you’ve done like Dionysus, On, Shadow and even Boy with Luv more depth and layers. This was a brilliant reaction!
This is honestly one of my favourite reactions of yours. I know BTS fans can be a lot and maybe intense but it's all from a love of music and there's so much else to discover. I think you'd like Don't Leave Me if you liked this one or We are Bulletproof: The Eternal. Anyway, enjoying a revisiting night as I get the streams in for your new track! Hope to see more BTS soon too. We're always supporting you man!
Let’s fucking go 🔥 I had to double check that I’d seen this notification right! Oh the lyrics here send me into a spiral of analysis. I’m going to love this breakdown!
This is probably my favourite BTS song because of the lyrics but mainly the mixing. It is hauntingly beautiful and I keep coming back to it. I need to go back and check which BTS songs you have already done before I can request one. Nice to see you return to them and shout out to Lucy for that 💜

Thank you so much Knox and for putting this here!! I LOVED this breakdown so much and I’m glad you enjoyed it too. I think I know what to request next month now! Someone said this better than me in another comment, but it’s inspiring to me how much honesty goes into their music and the transparency with us about what they might be going through. These lyrics are actually really sad when you stop to think but it goes to show how much they care about their fans and understand the purpose that their music holds for many. Sincerity and genuine care in artists can be so hard to come by. You’re another artist like that too Knox 💜
Knox glad to see you expanding some of your horizons on this channel especially with the extra nerdcore love. While it's not rap you absolutely gotta check out "Under Our Sky" by none other than HalaCG. That's just one of her many impressive songs (and most of them are rap) but its in my top for her. Regardless you gotta check this girl out.

Yess Louder then bomb....another masterpiece of BTS 💜💜🔥
I would highly recommend reacting to more BTS. They have lots of other lyrically incredible songs and hidden gems
I’m so happy to finally get to see you react to this song.
Nice to see you return to them and shout out to Lucy for that 💜
Absolutely love your passion for this song! It’s one of my FAVS! Thanks for sharing
Another great BTS breakdown and reaction. LTB is one of my fave BTS songs. Knox Hill you are ARMY Certified! lol
I love this breakdown!
Thanks man! Excited to dive into this. Their lyricism is so good!
We are waiting this song to be sing by Bangtan.. we might crying hard listening them.. cause this song has a very special meaning to Bangtan and us, ARMY
Thank you for doing this song! My favorite from them💜 The way they blend their voices to try and match each other is outstanding!
LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS! I know it may sound incredibly weird, but I always feel like giving you a hug and tell you you're a great guy. Just... yeah. Thank you for this. Hope you're having a great day! Your thoughts, your knowledge and you are most appreciated.
Thank you Lucy! This is my favourite song.
Louder than Bombs was the first song of BTS I heard and I fell in love with it and ended crying.
One thing to remember is that the lights that Army holds up in concert are called Army BOMBS, so Army fans are louder than their bombs.
this song 💜
thank you for this!
Hearing this young man reactions, I started to pay attention to the lyrics n the way his analysis is bringing the lights through any lyrics. I always looking forward to listen to his reactions in any song. Like what Suga said, listen carefully n follow the lyric so you will understand the meaning. Great Job young man KnoxHill you are the Bomb.
Knox you are my favourite musical reactor; Louder Than Bombs and you are that! 💣 😊💜 I have shared your reaction on the BTS groups I am in. You might even get some new subscribers. 😉
i dunno why i do this to myself - watch your videos when i'm NOT on my proper speakers then getting upset when you describe something about the sound and i cant hear it at the same time to nerd out together, even tho i know the song so well XD
Louder than bombs goes sooo deeep.. puts me in my feelings fr
In my top 5 BTS songs. Hope they decide to play it live one day! 💜
Oh I love the reaction 💜️💜️💜️💜️💜️💜️💜️
I love that they got so personal with the lyrics for this song, and all of the songs off this album. It's top tier BTS and one of my favorite songs.
you should react to paradise by BTS. I think you will like that track too

Aku selalu merinding ketika mendengarkan lagu ini sangat Amazing🤗💜
💜💜
this is one of the songs army always wants in concert but the boys have said it's too hard to try live. after hearing your reaction, that actually makes sense now!
louder than bombs is THE song that makes me so proud of myself for listening to bts and appreciating their art.
Cheers Knox 🙌
Always love your reactions, Louder than bombs is one of my favs and its never been performed live, still waiting for it!
Stoked to see this. Have been patiently hoping you’ll return to BTS group songs. You really did only scratch the surface and as much as I love their hits, they aren’t even 10% a reflection of their whole discography. Hope you can keep at it bro cus this breakdown was 🔥🔥 Should try some of their very first songs/albums maybe?
Some interpret the “louder than Bombs” meaning ARMY bombs (light-sticks).
Loved this so much! I also love that it’s in a nice corner on YT away from the typical negativity. I hope to see more BTS here. I’ve really missed your reactions to them and your BU journey. I’ve never given up hope for more of them anyway 💜
Louder than bombs.. Will always and forever in my top5 favorite of bts song💜
This one of my favorites. 💜💜👍I hope they'd sing it live on the concert one day🙏

Idk whether we'll ever get a live LTB performance or not but GOD!!!!! This song always hits right at the core of your heart and has the ability to make you cry. This song is a lyrical plus instrumental masterpiece.
