My dad almost exclusively plays tanks on Wii play to this day. He’s beat all the levels and has a bunch of techniques. I can’t remember when he started playing.
It’s almost like you described my dad, my dad is the same way he doesn’t play any other games, except tanks. And while me and my sister struggled relentlessly playing this game over the years, my dad always won and got to the final level. We eventually just gave up playing and watched him play instead. I’m still bewildered on how he managed to beat the game, but I guess it’s just a matter of strategy and wit. As well as patience, which neither me or my sister had when we were kids.
This game perfectly captures the atmosphere that my life had around that time. My neighborhood was just built & so was the school I was going to, there was also a field of cows next to it! Everything was so quiet and calm, and I very truly did not have a care in the world. I 100% mean it when I say I would give absolutely anything to experience those days once more. Though... I am very excited for Splatoon 3, so maybe that can wait a bit.....
Oh, the nostalgia! This was the G O A T. I was born in 1999, and I was only 7 when it got released, and I had a blast on it. It's really sad to see that the Wii is discontinued. Sometimes, I still play it and every time I turn it on, it brings me back. I'm 23, almost 24 now, and I get so emotional whenever I play or hear about the Wii. But if I had 1 wish, it would be for Nintendo to continue making Wii consoles.
This game was one of my favorites when I was younger. I used to play it a lot on my old Wii. Nowadays, yeah, it isn’t groundbreaking nor amazing. But, I still have a soft spot for it.
This game is not as great as I thought it was but still fun enough to play from time to time. But the best Mii game (and most underrated game of all time) will always be Wii Party and *NOTHING* would ever change my mind.
My sophomore year in college I lived with five other roommates, and one of us had a Wii. Playing the Tanks game (as well as Wii Sports Golf) is a big part of what got us to be so close in the early weeks of living together. Good memories all around
Wow, the amount of nostalgia I have for this game is unbelievable. We had just moved into our new house, I was around 6 years old at the time, I remember playing with my family so much! I remember how frustrating the fishing game was for me, because patience was something I did not have with games....
My mom always found video games confusing/stressful and refused to play them, except the fishing minigame in Wii Play. And only if she got to play with me or my little sister. We were 10 and 6 at the time, and tried to get her to play mariokart or wii sports, but she refused. Wii Play Fishing multiplayer only. She liked the art and the controller rumbles so she knew when to shake it to catch a fish. To this day I think that's the only video game my mom's ever played.
Nintendo Hero talking about a "Wii" series game? Did the weekend come early?? Billiards was my personal fav since it was such an obvious application for the Wii and this was the first game to do it. I think I'd love Tanks more if there was a continue option or checkpoint or something.
Find Mii is the game I remember the most. I loved seeing all the Miis I had made on the screen. I also remember wining the fishing game with the King of the Pond.
I was thinking about this game and forgot the name glad I found it it was such a great underrated game that I played gonna try to buy a copy for my new wii
Charge was definitely my favorite when I was a kid, I was maybe 6 or 7 when I played this for the first time. I never got a perfect score because I was always busy laughing hysterically at how fast the cow’s legs were moving. But my grandpa loved tanks the most. :)
This video brought back so many memories for me! I don't think I owned it but I would always play it at my friends house and had a blast - especially with tanks. Keep up the great content!!
I'm happy you also like fishing! It might be 3rd or 2nd place in my personal ranking of the Wii Play minigames. It was the only Wii Play minigame I platinumed (at least so far). I remember liking the design of the Mystery Fish mainly because of it's long snout. I always get excited to catch it whenever it shows up. There was a time where I caught 2 Mystery Fish and 1 King of the Pond in a single game!
It's crazy to think that this was kinda a good deal back then. This was a time before Indie Games either gave you complete masterpieces or gigantic timesink adventures for 20$ or less. There WAS NO Hollow Knight or Ori or Terraria or Minecraft or Stardew Valley or Bloodstained or Celeste or FNAF or Stanley Parable or Enter the Gungeon or Axiom Verge or Wargroove or anything like that. To further corroborate this, Nintendo games weren't nearly as long either. The Legend of Zelda only took around 30 hours (give or take 10 in either direction) to complete. While the main 3D Mario, Metroid Prime, and Pokemon games came in a moderately close 2nd, nothing else really did. Brawl and Xenoblade (probably the biggest Nintendo games by that point) hadn't released yet and Fire Emblem was still relatively new in the West. So that leaves pick up and play titles as an open position for Nintendo fans, and while Warioware was definitely better, it hadn't been released on the Wii by that point and was FAR more expensive anyways. So by that measure, this game kinda WAS a good deal.
The Wii Shop Channel, which has been available on Wii systems since December 2006, closed on January 30, 2019. We sincerely thank our loyal customers for their support. It is no longer possible to purchase new content from the Wii Shop. But great video by Nintendo Hero
Here's a cool thing to do in Billiards! If you hold Up when making a shot. you can aim the cue ball to make a jump shot. this could be great if you aim at a ball that's blocking the target ball, but you might fail when the shot doesn't make the jump or if you shoot a ball of the table. I've first heard this when I got a medal and saw the tip through the message & It's pretty hard to nail it for that target ball blocked by other situation.
my dad and i have played the tank game literally so much ever since wii play came out. we've both completed all 100 levels probably dozens of times; almost all of the other minigames are awful but the tank game just has so much charm
I feel like I'm one of the few that never owned Wii Play. I never needed another Wiimote so even that wasn't enough to convince me to buy it. To this day, I have not played it. It doesn't help that I almost always see the bubble minigame whenever I see gameplay of this game. It makes my head hurt as well haha
Oh what I would give to be playing tanks again...The graphics card in our Wii died a few months ago but when we were kids my brother and I used to play this for HOURS
when games weren't about how fast you are and how fast you can press a bunch of buttons, a time when it was all about staying up late with your friends and laughing at the gameplay
7:54 I also love the billiard theme that's playing in the back. It's simple, but so relaxing and vibey. Also, here's my ranking :D 9. Pose Mii 8. Fishing 7. Find Mii 6. Shooting Range 5. Charge! 4. Table Tennis 3. Billiards 2. Laser Hockey 1. Tanks!
I literally play this just for the billiards game (specifically 9-ball pool), which by far is the best of the bunch IMO (would've had more depth if they had an option for the more popular 8-ball pool too, but I can understand why they stuck to 9-ball, given it can be played by yourself and allows for quicker games) - my wife and I have loads of fun on this (she's actually new to the Wii as it was never popular in Bangladesh where she's from) mostly trying to out-score each other in billiards and shooting range.
I have a ton of nostalgia for the Wii and I love the Wii, But I would really like if you could make some nostalgia rewind videos on non-Wii games to add some variety.
I played Wii Play the most when I was around 10. I did not have the ability to appreciate the full content of the game, sadly. Shooting Range: It is the game I liked the most, for it is straightforward even for a 10-year-old. Find Mii & Pose Mii: They are pretty fun too, especially when I play with my mother. She does not like modern video games, but enjoyed the simple beauty of these two games a lot. Laser Hockey: I did not manage to beat the computer, but I tried many times. It's really captivating, but I just could not stop myself from sending the hockey to my own goal. Table Tennis: Well... I was not able to catch the ball. I suck at this (real) sport even now. Fishing: To me, it was a little boring, as the pond was way too small. Billiards: I have no clue of it even now, sadly. I never got past 0 points. Charge!: I share the same opinion with this video. It's a bit shallow, but gives a good experience. Tanks: I never got past level 10, so I am quite surprised when I found so many details about this game, 10 years later.
omg i loved playing this!! was also wondering if you would ever do a video on Wii music? that was another game i remember playing all the time as a kid, but i never see much about it!
I just played Nintendo Land after thinking my Wii U bricked (It didn’t! 👍) and MY GOSH! My favorite Wii U game by a long shot, and it’s amazing. Too bad it’s not hooked up to a tv or else I could play one besides Metroid Blast.
My ranking 9 charge 8 pose mii 7 laser hockey 6 find mii 5 table tennis 4 shooting range 3 fishing 2Billiards 1 tanks Number one and two switch sometimes
I hated tanks when I first started 11 years ago playing but now my least favorite is the ping pong game and enjoy tanks despite sucking at it. I never really cared about laser hockey and really only played it to unlock all the games when I first bought the copy.
Great video but it was really frustrating that every time you complemented the sound design you didn’t cut the commentary for just a moment & play a clip.
This is a quirky Wii Sports game franchise game definitely not one of my favorites though I do like the Billiards game though the most I actually care less about the real game
One of the worst games for the Wii, but an important step forward at the time for motion controls. Too many of the mini-games function poorly and are incredibly clunky.
The music in Tanks is surprisingly complex, if you want to know more about it I’d recommend this video by Scruffy: ua-cam.com/video/NkBXgcN3fXo/v-deo.html It’s really amazing just how much was put into this glorified tech demo
My dad almost exclusively plays tanks on Wii play to this day. He’s beat all the levels and has a bunch of techniques. I can’t remember when he started playing.
My dad also plays tanks a lot but he only got beat 100 once like 7 years ago
It’s almost like you described my dad, my dad is the same way he doesn’t play any other games, except tanks. I hate to spoil this but your dad probably played Combat from Atari which had tank based games that most likely inspired the Tanks game.
This has got to be the most stressful casual family-oriented mingame collection ever
My ranking:
1. Shooting Range
2. Pose Mii
3. Find Mii
4. Fishing
5. Tanks
6. Charge!
7. Table Tennis
8. Laser Hockey
9. Billiards
This game was once on the top-ten selling games of all time

Lol compleatly agree
wish we’d get a switch port for wii party
“The best mii game” Wii sports resort and Miitopia wanna have a chat
I love how you work the game music into the video, especially the intros for each minigame. It really adds to that nostalgia factor
My sophomore year in college I lived with five other roommates, and one of us had a Wii. Playing the Tanks game (as well as Wii Sports Golf) is a big part of what got us to be so close in the early weeks of living together. Good memories all around

We SOOO need a Nostalgia Rewind episode of Wii Party!
Find Mii is the game I remember the most. I loved seeing all the Miis I had made on the screen. I also remember wining the fishing game with the King of the Pond.
Can we talk about the random stock photos they used as backgrounds in Pose Me? 😂 Like, why?
The sound effects still hit so hard. Definitely a game that has aged well. The “super stressful music” is accurate
Wii Play Motion makes me so nostalgic back to the early 2010s, and fun fact I wait every year in September to play Nintendo Wii
I was thinking about this game and forgot the name glad I found it it was such a great underrated game that I played gonna try to buy a copy for my new wii
6:48 I’ve played this game for so many years, got platinum medals on everything and yet I had no idea this was a feature
you got one of the best voices for commentary ever! never stop uploading! you help me unwind
Charge was definitely my favorite when I was a kid, I was maybe 6 or 7 when I played this for the first time. I never got a perfect score because I was always busy laughing hysterically at how fast the cow’s legs were moving. But my grandpa loved tanks the most. :)
I really want a Nostalgia Rewind for Wii Play Motion, that game is so underrated
I honestly agree with everything you said about the mini games. Please cover Wii Play Motion next!
This video brought back so many memories for me! I don't think I owned it but I would always play it at my friends house and had a blast - especially with tanks. Keep up the great content!!
I hope to get my hands on this game again soon!
i remember playing these all the time with my brother, multiple sets of eyes really helps for find mii
Charge was always my favorite besides the shooting range one. Good childhood memories 😊
I'm happy you also like fishing! It might be 3rd or 2nd place in my personal ranking of the Wii Play minigames. It was the only Wii Play minigame I platinumed (at least so far).

THEORY: Elijah you are an a.i
I completed this game with all the platinum medals. This game is hard, especially the tanks game but it was fun

So much nostalgia
Good points good edit 👍. Love wii tanks very good. tho this game is no wii sports resort its still god like
I have so much nostalgia
I MISS THIS😭😭
I love this game
This game must remastered in Nintendo Switch. 😢
If anyone's looking for a game like wii play in the switch, you can buy 51 clubhouse games, its only 30€ for me and it's worth it.
I just played Nintendo Land after thinking my Wii U bricked (It didn’t! 👍) and MY GOSH! My favorite Wii U game by a long shot, and it’s amazing. Too bad it’s not hooked up to a tv or else I could play one besides Metroid Blast.
I love Nintendo land to, bunch of fun. Love the attraction tour with friends. But sir, this a review for wii play for the Nintendo wii.
If Nintendo ever does a sequel for Wii Play, they better not screw up like they did with switch sports.
My ranking
9 charge
8 pose mii
7 laser hockey
6 find mii
5 table tennis
4 shooting range
3 fishing
2Billiards
1 tanks
Number one and two switch sometimes
The Tank Game is so so so hard I hated it when I first got this in 2007 I still suck at it I want to rip my head off when I try it which isn’t often
In Wii fit u there is an Open world Mode in cycling
I really like the game, but sadly I can’t get to play the other half of the mini games bc my part of Wii Play is scratched :(
That’s a shame
I miss her...
How you gonna give that much praise to tanks without mentioning Combat?
Have you ever played We Ski, or its sequel, We Ski & Snowboard?
I hated tanks when I first started 11 years ago playing but now my least favorite is the ping pong game and enjoy tanks despite sucking at it. I never really cared about laser hockey and really only played it to unlock all the games when I first bought the copy.
I swear if they don't release a Switch Play after releasing a Switch Sports, i'm selling my switch.
another banger video!
Great video but it was really frustrating that every time you complemented the sound design you didn’t cut the commentary for just a moment & play a clip.
Is that a threat?
do wii fit plus
Do you play wii sports resort?
Wii play :D
Just got it for $9
I can’t tell if your voice is text to speech or not
O think a better idea will be making a new game called Wii tanks
Wii play? More like tank tanks
Charge was my shit
you always say the sound effects are great but you don’t let us hear them
Hey I did this first
Not to be rude
This is a quirky Wii Sports game franchise game definitely not one of my favorites though I do like the Billiards game though the most I actually care less about the real game
One of the worst games for the Wii, but an important step forward at the time for motion controls. Too many of the mini-games function poorly and are incredibly clunky.
Ngl I wasn’t a huge fan of Wii play. It can be fun but most of the games are pretty boring.
