Well that escalated gradually over the course of 100 days. If you want to grab the same program I used in this video you can get it at strengthsystem.com/matt

@mattdavella, I purchased the program and have done the first couple of workouts. Great so far. 👊 However, the program seems to only recommend the weight amounts for the first 4 weeks (Phase 1). Nothing after that. So, I’m not sure what I should lift after the first 4 weeks. Is this something you or Bas could help with? Also, you guys should include a disclaimer that this program calls for a lot of machines (e.g., leg press, leg extension, leg curl, cables, and more). It’d be great if Bas could include alt movement suggestions for us home gym crowd. I’m able to come up with some alt movements based on my own knowledge-but I wish I knew before buying. I’ve messaged through the site’s contact form and dropped IG comments, but no replies. Hope the feedback helps. Looking forward to hopefully hearing back. As always, thanks for the great content, Matt.

I'm a long time gym bro but have never competed. After watching this around a month ago I decided to sign up for a local powerlifting gym membership and register for a meet. The vibe at my new gym is great, and I'm really excited to see what I can do at the meet. Looking at last year's scores, I wouldn't be surprised if I finish last in my class, but It's been really invigorating honing in my form and feeling like I'm getting "noob gains" again. Thanks for the inspiration!
There's a powerlifter named Matt Vena whose content pops up on my feed all the time, but I'm not a powerlifter, and I never watch it. I've never heard of Matt D'Avella, but it sounded similar enough that I mixed the names up, especially since powerlifting was in the title. I thought this was a powerlifter pretending he'd never powerlifted. I was confused but pleasantly surprised. Great video. And great job!
I trained for, and did one power lifting competition, just like yourself. It was an amazing experience. On the day of completion, the lifters were so supportive and helpful. The event was so memorable. It's about pushing yourself and performing when the pressure is on. Thanks for posting this, it brought back great memories.
Freaking love the way the coach is teaching, OMG! So much sense, so much knowledge, donno when it was the last time I have seen someone like that. I swear I was so tearyeyed during the competition when you actually could lift so heavy, this is awesome! So cool!

Imagine having such an easy life and so much money you can just decide to spend 3 months with personal trainers and perfect nutrition.
Loved the video Matt! I've been following you and also Sebastian for years now, so was pleasantly surprised when I saw both of your names come up together. I've been powerlifting for a while and have very similar measurements to you, so I could relate to a lot of this video. Great production quality and storytelling, and bloody fantastic results from your 3 month powerlifting training. Here's to the next one ;)
Honestly this ended up being so much more impressive than I expected. You must have put a lot of effort and consistency into that training because even with your technique gains, I did not expect you to improve THAT much overall. Congratulations and good job putting in the work!
This was an awesome video man. Absolutely love the journey. So happy for you
Dude.....holy crap. That's one of the most inspiring things I've ever seen. You went from being about as strong as I am, to being stronger than I could ever imagine myself being. That was amazing. Good work!
I have been watching your videos for a long time now and I can say with certain this was your best video yet.....I think the changes you made to your process has paid off and your creativity with this video is off the charts....great work Matt!
That was really fun to watch! I was rooting for you the whole time. Power lifting is a great sport and the lifters are always so nice and encouraging!
Matt this is INSANE, loved the video, keep the powerlifting thing in you? I'd love to see updates in some months, seriously
I'm not sure how this video started playing for me but I'm so glad it did. I watched the whole thing! Super motivating, inspiring and informative. I could listen to bass talk aalllll day. Thank you.

Sooooooo amazing ! I really enjoyed watching this video! Very impressive! Congratulations ! 💪👏👏👏
Hey Matt, Ive watched you on and off for years now. And I must say the whole package of this video is, in my opinion, one of the best videos you did. And I loved that you really put in the effort for 100 days and entered a competition this made the video just so much better. Congrats on evolving even further in your creation process :)
Wonderful man, cheers to your courage & consistency in increased efforts! Bravo!!
Wow man, so proud of you! That was inspiring as hell. I can imagine being over the moon about making that kind of progress. Big congrats!
bro this video is encouraging to take the first step to their dreams , and also with a realistic , consistent and resilient mindset. THANKYOU BRO THIS VIDEO IS A MASTERPIECE
Thank you for showcasing the journey to powerlifting in an approachable and beautiful way.
Amazing work! As someone who's been in fitness for a looong time, I love to see it! Could always see in videos that you stay active, but it's fantastic so see someone really test their own limits. I hope you enjoyed it! Powerlifting is very, very satisfying for me personally. Congratulations on some serious strength gains, and on learning how to squat and deadlift properly too. Even if you don't compete, hopefully those big lifts stay in your programming! Well done.
Captivating storytelling and amazing production. Had me glued to the screen from start to finish. Great job, Matt.
this video is amazing, you are. Never got this invested in a "100 days" of anything, and you really actually became strong af! congrats!
This is crazy Matt! Congratulations! Big achievement! so stoked!
Matt, your open mindedness and willingness to constantly learn new things truly inspires me. Thank you 🌟
Really proud of you Matt. I tell people all the time to learn to strength train. It builds so much mental strength. Yes, you are stronger too, but the mental aspect is incredible.
Matt, loved the video.
As someone who’s been training PL for a bit and just had the same pec injury I can relate quite a bit. I really appreciated seeing you go from zero to hero!
Amazing video! I was glued to it like a suspenseful movie and then SQUEELED when you did your first squat and the dinger turned green. This was amazing! Congrats to you on this experience and placing 3rd is incredible!
This was phenomenal. My heart was *racing* at the end, there! 😬😬😆😝
Great work, mate! 💪🏻😁👍🏻
This was super cool! Your PRs skyrocketed. So inspirational.
As a powerlifter I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I love how you gave your all and really dove deep into the sport. Keep up the good work!
Great video, insane progress for your weight class and only 100 days. Going 9/9 in your first meet is very impressive as well
INSANE! i got so pumped during the final competition, well done!!
Inspiring dude those percentages are awesome! An example of dedication and staying true to your training, whilst being a parent!! I commend you man 🤙
Amazing video. It was so cool learning all that goes into powerlifting and how much strength gains can be made from a coaching plan.
