@@ELECTRlClAN Naw I don’t think he’s bored, he is just a very chill dude. When he gets asked by Matt about how he came up with a song or the story behind it, he tells a cool story and goes into good detail about it too and is clearly into it.
I'm 38 years old, and I'm legit watching two of my idols playing guitar together, learning from one another, reminding me of why I love music and how it brings people together.
Matt Tuck reminds me of like the cool 2000s grunge kid that had street cred for playing guitar but Matt Heafy.. that dude is the passionate metal nerd that studied his craft until he bores all the other metal heads with his album knowledge and encyclopedia of guitar riffs, probably practiced every night after school to a metronome and I gotta say I love seeing them both chat. Bullet came up with alot of other great welsh bands around that time on the UK scene, but not many of them have stuck around.
Love how Matt's talking about the technical aspects of Bullet's riffs and asking their thought process behind using specific musical techniques, and Matt's just like "I dunno mate is just a cool riff"
I'm an old assed dude But it NEVER gets old watching absolute professional people completely nerd out on licks man Super cool slowing things down enough for me to catch phrasing Thank you very much
@@DavidOakesMusic yeah, it's true, and i have the impression that trivium riffs are more difficult, maybe is just an impression, bullet's riffs are incredible too
Ascendancy was my first taste of this band. What an amazing album every song is dope. Every album these guys have put out has been killer. Matt's voice is amazing.
Absolutely loved this video. These 2 bands got me into metal as a young teen and shaped a lot of my life. Forever grateful and can not wait to see them together on Sunday 🙌
This is awesome to sit and watch. Trivium was the first band I really got Big in to in the "Metalcore" scene after coming out of Nu Metal. Bullet wasn't that far after. Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation was the first Trivium song I learned on guitar. Your Betrayal for Bullet. I remember multiple times at a friends house with us playing Trivium or Bullet songs together. Now, watching this older and more knowledgeable, it's great to hear them talk about the riffs and the story of the songs. Love it!
Im about to be 37 and i still listen to ascendancy and the poision regularly. Ill never forget laying in bed with the album playing trying to figure out how he did some of the double bass parts in light to flies etc. man thank god for this 😊
Your two bands are what got me into metal and made me want to play guitar. It is very good and interesting to hear the history behind the riffs in this vid. Wish you guys would come to South Africa again on your Poisoned Ascendancy tour just to relive the iconic songs.
I'm so upset I won't be able to see this tour but seeing the 2 most influential musicians behind my playing on tour and in an interview like this is just mind blowing.
Oh My God !! My teenege soul was so proud to see both of you playing those riffs, that actually i used to play with My brother when we only have only 10 or 11 years old. I have anxiety syntomps, and this calm down everything in my head. Let's go to play all this entire albums!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Guys, thank you so much! I grew up on your songs. I remember well those times when my friend and I walked to school and back home listening to your songs binge-watching. Even years later, when I come to visit him, we still listen to those same tracks.🤘
Two legends of metalcore. Grew up with BFMV and only recently got into Trivium. I was judgemental at first, but after deep diving into Ascendency and Shogun I was just sold. Rain/Martys and Kiriute/Scylla are two of the best opening tracks I've ever heard. Incredible songwriters the lot of them.
I know this is a super wholesome video (and I also get those 2007 goosebumps that I didn't know existed anymore), but it also goes to show why Trivium had not just one great album but a great career, because Trivium Matt just seems so much more curious about and immersed in what makes a riff great and interesting than BFMV Matt. Will love both Ascendancy and The Poison though till the day I die
I loved and prefer The Poison over Ascendancy and it's probably one of my favourite albums of all time, but you hit the nail on the head about how I feel about these 2 band nowadays 😂 The Poison was almost perfect for me but it was downhill from there with a few good songs here and there.
I attended to Trivium's concert in 22... It was mindblowing !!! It was gonna be great to see trivium and BFMV playing on the same day... COME TO BRAZIL my brothers !!! My closest friends they all love both bands as well so, I'm really sure we're gonna have a good time !!
Love the respect between the two. They both know the ups and downs from day one to now. What stood out for me was the criticism they both shared in each band’s early days. And it’s so true! Even as a fan, I remember all the negative comments for even listening to them. Happy, I ignored the haters! I love both bands and I am happy I grew up jamming to them. They mean a lot, and it’s so amazing that they’re touring together worldwide. Trivium x B4MV forever! 🤘🏽❤️
I remember being 13 or 14 and I had a Guitar World Subscription to the magazine and every edition had a CD that came with it that showcased certain bands and had riffs that they would teach you from their songs. I still have the one with Matt and Corey playing plus BFMV, etc. Thanks for all the good times 🎸🎶🔥
I remember the first time I hear 4 Words in 2006, I literally had never heard anything like it, it blew my mind and I was hooked. It was like a sound I knew I wanted but didn't know it existed.
Music class student vs garage jammer 😂 Two straps, foot stool, 45 degrees angle on the guitar and placement on the inner thigh for Heafy vs hunched forward, no straps, feet not even on the ground and horizontal guitar for Tuck 😁

to be fair its all really basic stuff around minor scales etc.
