I’m gonna just kinda reply to this to kinda try and explain why people might be coming to the videos and saying these things. I’m going to clarify I don’t have any problems with this video or gay in general. I thought the video was entertaining. I think it’s because of the flags and the video saying it’s canon they’re gay. And I’m gonna summarize and say a bit of homophobia is sprinkled in the comments which is why this is happening. I could be wrong though. I respect your headcanon and I encourage you to not change it. While it may not be my headcanon, all opinions are different. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Yeah, fun fact gay would not mean homosexual until 20 years later and would start out as an insult. Stemming from the fact that it originally meant happy but leaned toward it in a Carefree almost ditzy sort of way. at the time of this movie, “queer” was the main term besides homo. But it was rarely used positively as *_its_* original meaning was strange.
In Mexico the word gay has many more uses than just sexuality. gay caballeros It is something that was already used before to refer to groups of friends made up of gallants who had a bromance, that is, they flirted with each other and all that but without going any further, more than anything they were men who spent their time making women fall in love with them. with whom they rarely had a serious relationship and they traveled a lot
Speaking from experience being in a committed but open relationship can be very heathy and refreshing. Donald could be in a serious relationship with Daisy and then go with panchito and Jose on special occasions

Can't believe how there are so many people that tale this video seriously in the comments and believe that it's not a known fact that gay meant just happy back then, and these FICTIONAL 2D BIRDS were actually coming out in the '40s. Relax, everyone, we know the etymology of the word and its use then and now, it's a fun video about fictional characters acting silly, and it's a great one at that. (Also I love this way of revisiting my childhood, I used to love this film!)
@@TheMouseAvenger I know, but the other meaning of the word has taken over so much that if someone says "I'm gay" to mean "I'm happy", hardly anyone would think they're happy, they'd think they're homosexual.
