Here's the lore from the first game is anyone needs a refresher. Our name is Riley. Our aunt Kate sends us a letter, saying that she has passed away and that she left her house to us. She tells us about tapes in her attic but warns us that if we watch them, we can't stop. The tapes are of a kid's cartoon, named Amanda the Adventurer, about a girl named Amanda and a sheep named Wooly. We learn from some papers in the attic that Kate worked at the local library but she had also been working on something behind the scenes. Amanda the Adventurer used to be a live action, ran by Amanda's real dad, Sam. He was friends with Kate and would read stories out to the children at the library. He was well known from the cartoon since it got so popular. His daughter was the main focus of the show and her real name is Rebecca. Sam had adopted Rebecca. Sam was approached by a large producing company named Hamelin. They offered to make his show even bigger and he agreed. However, when it came time to sign paperwork and stuff, he started feeling uncomfortable. There was something weird going on. They were making Amanda repeat weird words and phrases. Hamelin knew he was getting cold feet so they removed him from the picture. We don't know if he's alive or not. They made Rebecca sign the contract instead. Through an old demonic ritual, they were able to put Rebecca's mind into Amanda. Since the cartoon aired, children have gone missing after watching the show, like they just vanished. This was what Kate was looking into but she was killed before she had a chance to finish her work. During one of the endings of the first game, a masked figure shows up in the attic and slams their hands down on the table, then the game ends. That's where this game is starting off.
It really feels like wooly is a representation of the scientists that observed and experimented on Rebecca, that they were inserted in some fashion to keep her on track and contained. His wool being like a white lab coat, and the idea that he would be a wolf in sheep's clothing, and the demon form of Amanda having the wool over it's eyes to obscure the truth (though it also seems to exist to protect Amanda). It calls back to the last game when Amanda kept talking about death and rot, and that she was still out there somewhere (her physical self), but Wooly kept trying to change the subject. When she first encounters him here, it's with fear and rage. And all of her nightmares were about being watched, and eyes, and then being alone in the dark. The Pied Piper of Hamelin being the origin of the company name is interesting too - leading children away since the middle ages and now incorporating new technology with arcana and the occult to continue the tradition. Definitely interested to see the other lore tapes, this made me want to play myself.
@xandercholette7479 Oooo that's a goof theory honestly. But lowkey, that doesn't sit right with me, I argue that the opossum that keeps bothering Amanda is her dad. Do I have reasoning why? No, not YET. But Wooly's demon is so dangerous and aggressive I just find it hard to believe that it's Rebecca's dad and not some employee for Hamelin.
Older piggy banks usually don't have a plug and do indeed need to be smashed. The idea being that you won't touch that money until you actually need it, cuz you don't WANT to break it and have to buy a new one.
@tristanchamblin492 I believe that started as a gambling phrase for winning more money than the house could afford to pay you, and it's just a happy coincidence that it works so well with the imagery of smashing a piggy bank 🐷
2:37:08 "So we are saying that this production company has been around since the middle ages" Hamelin... The mouse in their logo, kids vanishing... The Pied Piper of Hamelin. Oh Boy
Clocked that immediately as well! Did you know the guy in the original video is actor Michael Rapaport? He’s got other videos interacting with the cat as well.
I enjoy the respect Sean shows where he isn't saying it's a bad game, just that it's not for him. Some people can't always see the difference. Loved watching!
40:33 that transition from "maybe YOU can find my a nightlight! :D" to all the lights going out and amanda begging you to "hurry back soon" gave me CHILLS. THAT WAS SO GOOD

this is the devastated american safety zone, but yeah i'm seething - and also completely apathetic? i thought those weren't possible to feel at the same time but here we are.
Jack must feel so conflicted on this game cause he seems to like it and want to see what happens but he also gets sooooo frustrated at the puzzles sometimes.
@@jacksepticeyeI gotcha. You're a lore guy. You're more interested in the lore than the complexities to get to the lore. That's why I watched your Bloodborne playthroughs instead of playing the game myself: I just needed the lore, man.
The puzzles were definitely a lot more confusing and tedious in this one, some of the clues just did not land on my playthrough when the first I got through relatively fine on my own, definitely didn’t help that my game bugged out at the Do You Feel Safe tape and I had to restart THE ENTIRE GAME to get through
@jacksepticeye if there's ever another one you and Gab should play it together!! (Or you and gab can work together to find the secret tapes in this game)
1:08:05 notice how Amanda said earlier “Now my teeth will rot out and i’ll starve to death” and the monkey has no teeth, and its super skinny and it’s ribs are showing indicating that it’s starving to death 👀 that’s an interesting detail to me
Oh i didn't piece it together with what she had said. I thought it was because of the "speak no evil" it was holding it's mouth shut and didn't eat. I saw that it had no teeth but somehow that flew over me xD
It's the way that Jack figured out the first puzzle almost immediately, but it took GTLive excruciatingly long to figure out how the game wanted them to do the puzzle LMAO
To be fair, there are a ton of youtubers who cut out the puzzle-work, so we don't know how long it took them. I know Rye Toast also had a hard time solving it and their chat was trying to spoil it.
True! That puzzle is so weird. You either get it immediately or almost not at all 💀 my fav youtuber from my country had a very hard time with it too, even tho he’s the biggest puzzle nerd ever lmao (tho to be fair he IS known for never seeing the most obvious/easiest answers)

the story that Riley tells instead of Wooly's story also gives us the extra context that Rebecca signed Hamelin's contract because they promised her they could bring her dad back which makes the whole thing even more heartbreaking.
Its almost like when the writers know what's happening from the start of a mystery, it can be solved by the audience. (That's what makes mysteries good, btw)

I don't think that lego bin's texture was AI generated. It looked like a jpg on a wavey mesh, a technique commonish in older games for things like trash piles.
Yeah, I actually plugged a prompt for that into an AI photo generator as well just to see what'd happen (if it'd be similar). Unfortunately, it was actually quite hd seemed good at a glance
Better question : who gives a fuck. This is like complaining that someone might have used a staple gun to put together a cheap drawer in a movieset instead of hiring a bespoke furniture craftsman to make the exact same drawer with nails.
I check the website Futurism for updates on technology news, and I've heard some news on the AI tag of the site that there's been incidents of people mistaking real things for AI. There's even been real people whose photos people think are AI generated, and they have to make a point to say that they're real people, not bots. So just as people mistake AI for the real thing, there are now cases where people mistake the real thing for AI.
@@felixjohnson3874 Artists whose art has been stolen to fuel these AI breeding machines are the ones who give a fuck if it was AI generated or not. There's also 0 talent behind generative AI and any game company that uses it shouldn't be creating video games if they're that unimaginative AI "art" is for losers
at 18:25, i don't believe that was AI generated, from my knowledge, DreadXP (the creators of Amanda the Adventurer) do not support AI generated content and such, i believe they're just irl toys and such textured into the small blue box
It looks like a normal texture of legos. They're just distorted from them being placed on a jagged shape. Wouldn't really care either way. To me I'd honestly prefer if you used AI vs stock content. At least AI is original.
I'd love to see all the lore/tapes! Also, there was a train puzzle you didn't finish...I'm guessing the train needs to go into the station that's covered with plastic or something? The puzzles were a bit annoying, but the game looked fun overall!
Anyone else notice Jack stopped getting the alley scene after the masked woman showed up? Pretty sure that ties into Amanda talking about not trusting people. Can you only get that scene while she isn't around?
I’m pretty sure it’s because she calls you, and that makes the opossum react, so it wouldn’t make sense if she called you again while she was next to you

@glebglub Yeah exactly: People don't actually know what real puzzles are anymore: Just straightforward gimmicks that even a five year-old can figure out. Games like these are a rare commodity nowadays
I loved this let’s play especially because you’re all over the place! I have AdHd too and love puzzle solving & strategy games (like inscryption). So it’s kinda nice to see stuff from a different perspective and actually getting to solve the puzzle with someone. In a lot of other videos the people already know all the answers so I for one can’t really get into the game (if that makes any sense). And since I don’t have any way to play the game for myself right now, it’s nice to not have someone rush the video but instead play at their own pace. Having said that, I would love to see the ending but can also understand that these puzzles aren’t really your thingy so I’m already grateful that you made such a long video. :)
Definitely not the first to notice this and just stating the obvious facts; but, I noticed that when Amanda is by herself the tape is not sponsored by Hameln. But, when Wooly is around, then the Hameln logo returns. Dunno if that helps any theorists, but I thought it was interesting.
Explains why she was so annoyed by Wooly being there. She said she doesn't want him to be there as if it was forced onto both of them to hang out and be best friends
"Definitely not the first to notice this and just stating obvious facts" I've watched a playthrough of this game 3 times now and read so many comments, this is the first time I learn of this
Considering he's in Europe, confusing the month day order is to be expected, especially when tired and being confused by much harder puzzles. It would be easy to miss.
The EU uses DD/MM/YY. Only the US uses MM/DD/YY. Juxtaposing "1 + 2 = MDMD" with "M/D M/D" is also confusing because the + sign looks like addition alongside the = sign, making the / look like division. I kept trying to solve the puzzle like a math problem and got nowhere. The usage of the + sign for concatenation only appears in certain computer programming languages like Javascript and Python. I suspect the devs were using one of those programming languages when coding the puzzle, and their bias crept in.

First, did anyone else notice Wooly's eyes going black when the creature tried to attack Jack during the Knight Story section? Second, if what Jack is saying about the pictures on the wall having something to do with Amanda's actual life, then my theory is that knight=Sam?, Princess= Amanda(or moreso the creature), and Wizard=Hameln since he's the "trickster" Just a theory...
Yes I did! That was so weird! And only Amanda tried to stop it each time, Wooly looked unfazed even after we were almost murdered.. Aww and then she turns into the monster form (the dragon) and gets killed :( Good eye!
I love Wooly too, but seeing Amanda jump him to beat the crap out of him, and then suddenly the video cuts to a cheerful "Hi I am Amanda" is funny af It's like something you find in a parody of those "Dora The Explorer" type shows
You say poor wooly but it's being theorized that wooly is actually one of the bad guys. He is potentially one of the doctors that helped put rebecca into this
@ladylark10884 i just know a lot of people have been theorizing that it's someone from hamln trying to keep amanda happy so she doesn't try to escape or something but it was ash on gt live that was guessing it was one of the doctors hecause they believed the doctor sounded like wooley

Two thoughts about the Patience video: 1) Man, Wooly is awfully snarky and mouthy with Amanda considering she gave him a saw to the face in the first game. 2) The cat that shows up to eat the birds looks like the cat from that one video... "Hey, Ma! There's a weird fuckin' lookin' cat out here! The thing looks like Grandma!"

I didn't realize that after you get killed with the stuffed animal puzzle it brings you back to do the tapes "all over" but sets up the back half of the game. At first I thought he actually, completely started all over again from the beginning of the game. I think the "secret" tapes are the best part of this game because they hold the most lore. I hope Sean comes back to get the secret/cannon ending as well
Games like this are why I'm not a gamer but rather a gamer-watcher. I would've rage quit outta there SO FAST. Good on you for sticking with it, Sean. So you looked stuff up - so what? The story is the really important part. The puzzles are part of the fun... but only if they're actually fun. Once you hit that wall of "UGH WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIRT", fuck it. Look it up and get back to the fun - which is the point of playing games.
I've been saying since 1 Wooly is the real villain, and so much of the sequel confirms it. Dude taunts her and gets too wink wink about her death. Like look at what happens when you do the correct knight story instead of Wooly's. Amanda saves you from her attack dog either way but Wooly stays quiet when he can 100% see it. In fact his eyes go black right before you get attacked, Wooly didn't just let it happen he ordered the attack dog. He gets angry when you won't do his story, when we know his will kill you, stopping you from helping Amanda. That weird guy is with him too, as he tries to destroy the drawing before you can complete the drawing, and if you die you can't help Amanda. He's a demon, probably baalamb, torturing the soul of a dead little girl, garnering sympathy because he's a cutesy animal character that we see Amanda abusing. Brian from Family Guy type beat. I think the Knight story was supposed to be metaphorical, Wooly's the wizard making the Amanda seem like the threat so the knight, Riley, would kill her I love Amanda whooping his ass. (Also keep in mind Rebecca was said to be a sweet child and the live action show used to be loved by parents, so why would she suddenly becomes vicious and why would the show start teaching bad lessons for no reason? "Hameln" is named after the pied piper myth, so it's most likely they transformed her into "Amanda" to serve their goal of taking children, we saw they go missing last game after watching. She's somewhat possessed to serve that purpose, yet she directly tries to keep the child protagonist alive. Just like the dragon, wanting to speak as herself but only able to act as a threat because of magic).
@CosmicEL-Squid Doesn't explain how often Wooly mocks her for being dead ("it's fun to pretend you can go places" seems very specifically worded), or when he orders your death, or that the attack dog's eyes look exactly like Wooly's fur or how angry he is when you make Amanda feel better. Keep in mind the Wooly character didn't even exist in the original live action series, so who is he? I assume when Hameln had Rebecca recite demon mames under the guise of training some "voice matrix", he's the one who took. I mean just look at the start of the broken tape where 5+ Amanda's scream in agony looked down upon by a giant smiling Wooly in what can only be described as a hellscape. That dude is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
@@billbill6094 I've seen theories saying the "attack dog" is like a demon/Amanda's demon (it has some of Amanda's features with "wool over the eyes" (which also happen to literally be the eyes*) and listens to her/tries to protect her). The other stuff related to that is spoiler territory for the secret ending so I won't go into it, but that demon/entity is not necessarily Wooly or a direct metaphor for Wooly I've also seen theories saying Wooly was created/used to keep Amanda pacified (hence why she hates him, she learned this, and that's why he haunts her sometimes/in a couple scenes). I've seen most people interpret that as him being a villain, but imo that could also mean he is not necessarily malicious but trying to do what he thinks/has been conditioned or programmed to think is best for her (which you could also interpret as being a villain, I'm just talking about intent/knowledge), as in his version of the knight story he genuinely seems to care for her in some way (if you interpret Wooly as the knight, Amanda as the princess, and the possum as the dragon (and I also interpreted Amanda's version of the knight story to be Amanda as the princess/dragon, and Wooly still as the knight, as he looked down at his hands and seemed upset when the knight killed the dragon, which is part of where I get the implication that he might not know how he's affecting her. Still not sure about the wizard in either version though; the "annoying wizard" part does make me think of Wooly but then that makes the knight thing weird, but anyway)). Wooly's toxic positivity and dismissal of Amanda's feelings of course ends up hurting her and keeping her trapped, and he of course has the outbursts as well, so his poor treatment of Amanda's feelings is highlighted and important regardless of whether he knows why or whether he's keeping her trapped or not As for the "weird guy"/possum, you get more information about him in the secret ending but he seems innocent Those are just some of my thoughts/ideas I've seen elsewhere though *edit: Actually I think I was just remembering Amanda's eyes doing that in the first game, but it looked like the entity's wool/eyes edit 2: Well Wooly does seem to taunt Amanda's predicament sometimes ("i'm going on an adventure in my mind" and some other stuff I can't remember, but again I suppose you could interpret those things differently), so perhaps he does know/is being malicious to some extent
I’m 100% believing this, especially after the “Who do you trust?” tape. It’s like she knows she can’t trust Woolly anymore, because she used to be a trusting little girl and now she’s stuck in a cartoon universe with a prison guard that’s practically keeping her pacified into staying there, mentally aging and learning about things like death and depression but without the wisdom that comes with actual aging. Now there’s some viewer she’s aware of and they’re doing and saying things she likes, trying to help her out. But at this point, she’s not sure what’s good or what’s bad, what’s wrong or what’s right. Except that this new viewer is *trying* and that’s almost enough.
After finishing the game, I'll say this. This game requires A LOT of sense, outside the box thinking, and qualititave reasoning. Really made my brain stress, I'm really used to games kinda just holding my hand through it, I didn’t expect Amanda the Adventurer of all things to push me like this

I really loved the first game with the hints it gave you towards what happened to Amanda when she was signed up to voice the show, and the live action video of her dad on a tv talk show because it wove some easier puzzles into the game in between the clues. This game is still really well made and creepy with the time limited puzzles and the monster snooping around, but it feels like it has lost the focus on the core of the storyline, with too many puzzles that require collecting things. Perhaps there will be a third game?
especially when the core storyline isn't really fleshed out until the very very end of the game. like there is nothing in the library other than the rare walkie talkie calls
I agree. What makes this game worth playing is the actual lore behind it. Otherwise you’re just doing puzzles for the sake of doing puzzles. I wanted to know more about what is going on, and I feel like that was not clear at any moment until the end. Maybe finding the secret tapes would add that, but then players shouldn’t have to be actively searching for parts of the story constantly, some of it should be readily offered like at the end.

Since the cartoon aired, children have gone missing after watching the show, like they just vanished. This was what Kate was looking into but she was killed before she had a chance to finish her work. During one of the endings of the first game, a masked figure shows up in the attic and slams their hands down on the table, then the game ends. That's where this game is starting off.
you are a GODSEND, i hope your pillow stays cool and your baked goods come out perfectly on the first try

@@anemonemilyyy Thanks! I'm surprised not someone else didn't type this out before I did, or maybe I missed it.
Holy shit you are a genius
@@River-wc5bx game theory was thinking he could be Amanda's dad inserted into the game himself. Hence the demonification
Amanda’s not trying to be like Dora with the “Swiper no swiping” stuff, she wants that opossum dead and buried PRONTO
Exactly my thoughts 😂 I liked the Opossum idk why he was a funky lil dude that just wanted to cause trouble

I don't think that lego bin's texture was AI generated. It looked like a jpg on a wavey mesh, a technique commonish in older games for things like trash piles.
plus if it were AI generated I doubt that you'd be able to so clearly tell apart every individual lego piece

It seems to be that yeah
This and it isn't disclosed on the Steam page, which with the new rules they'd have to do if they used AI content.
It looks like a normal texture of legos. They're just distorted from them being placed on a jagged shape.
Wouldn't really care either way. To me I'd honestly prefer if you used AI vs stock content. At least AI is original.

He might have had to get specific answers to get that scene? It's hard to tell because we only see the edited version of his process.
You can only get the scene watching the tape first time around pretty sure, so yeah after she calls it doesnt happen again
I’m pretty sure it’s because she calls you, and that makes the opossum react, so it wouldn’t make sense if she called you again while she was next to you

The only sad thing about Trump winning is how butthurt you guys are about it, like calm down it's just a president who is known for increasing the economy when he's in power.
Jack is the king of bullshitting his way though a puzzle until something happens and I love it.
Your American viewers appreciate this content in these trying times, I for one needed it
I can imagine. Sending you my best and let's hope for a boring term :)
It's like christmas, first this morning's news and now a jacksepticeye vid
Same too. Needed this so bad
im in ny, what is going on in america right now? something bad? all I see is good things happening with people over reacting due to misinformation!
@ when they come for your rights too you’ll be a lot less snarky about it
Two thoughts about the Patience video:
1) Man, Wooly is awfully snarky and mouthy with Amanda considering she gave him a saw to the face in the first game.
2) The cat that shows up to eat the birds looks like the cat from that one video... "Hey, Ma! There's a weird fuckin' lookin' cat out here! The thing looks like Grandma!"
i’m so happy this was posted right now, i’m having a hard time getting my schoolwork done and having something to listen to will probably help a lot, also can’t wait for thankmas year!!!!
also i’m sooo excited for your game to come out i think it’s really cool you’re branching out and doing something that is hopefully creatively fulfilling for you
I didn't realize that after you get killed with the stuffed animal puzzle it brings you back to do the tapes "all over" but sets up the back half of the game. At first I thought he actually, completely started all over again from the beginning of the game. I think the "secret" tapes are the best part of this game because they hold the most lore. I hope Sean comes back to get the secret/cannon ending as well
ilysm sean, this is genuinely everything i needed today :(
Games like this are why I'm not a gamer but rather a gamer-watcher.
Thankmas on december 6th sounds nice. Just one thing I gotta do real quick first. My due date is December 5th, shouldn't be too long though 😂
Congratulations! Wishing you the best 💜
Congrats hon’!! Wishing smooth delivery and fast recovery 🫡 :D
Baby’s first Thankmas 🎄
I loveeee this😂 congrats have a safe delivery! ❤
You on Dec 5th: Brb one sec [ goes to have a baby ] all done :)
Congrats btw 😁
The other stuff related to that is spoiler territory for the secret ending so I won't go into it, but that demon/entity is not necessarily Wooly or a direct metaphor for Wooly
I've also seen theories saying Wooly was created/used to keep Amanda pacified (hence why she hates him, she learned this, and that's why he haunts her sometimes/in a couple scenes).
Wooly's toxic positivity and dismissal of Amanda's feelings of course ends up hurting her and keeping her trapped, and he of course has the outbursts as well, so his poor treatment of Amanda's feelings is highlighted and important regardless of whether he knows why or whether he's keeping her trapped or not
As for the "weird guy"/possum, you get more information about him in the secret ending but he seems innocent
Those are just some of my thoughts/ideas I've seen elsewhere though
*edit: Actually I think I was just remembering Amanda's eyes doing that in the first game, but it looked like the entity's wool/eyes
edit 2: Well Wooly does seem to taunt Amanda's predicament sometimes ("i'm going on an adventure in my mind" and some other stuff I can't remember, but again I suppose you could interpret those things differently), so perhaps he does know/is being malicious to some extent
I agree, but Riley isn't a child, she's an adult
I mean the demon literally has "wool pulled over eyes"
After finishing the game, I'll say this. This game requires A LOT of sense, outside the box thinking, and qualititave reasoning. Really made my brain stress, I'm really used to games kinda just holding my hand through it, I didn’t expect Amanda the Adventurer of all things to push me like this
Jack's laugh when he typed "poops" for 'favorite type of bird' is my kind of humor. 💚
I’m American, and with the election and all, i am very thankful for this video. Jackcepticeye has been my main “I need to feel happy” channel other than LazyPurple. Thank you so much Jack, i, and the other Americans here needed this. :)
I'm more of a LazyRed kinda guy
Other Californians*
Evidently, the majority of Americans are excited not to have to deal with democrats for another four years
I love how they used the fugly cat from that meme-video with the guy calling his mom to look at that UGLY CAT xD
Sorry babe, Jacksepticeye with Amanda the adventurer just dropped
Put your clothes back on we have a better use of 2.5 hours right here
loved this video, thank you jack! i’ve been watching it almost daily, you make me laugh so much. i hope you’re doing well and keeping positive! would LOVE to see you finish this game with the secret tapes!!
So glad you’re playing thisssss and can’t wait for thankmas!!! Thanks for everything you do ❤
@@DontReadMyPicture477Don’t bother me, spammer
“TOP OF THE MORNING” always brings a smile!
YES YES YES PLEASE MORE YES I ENJOY IT WHEN YOU PLAY AMANDA THE ADVENTURER! (Also my little brother picks on you when we watch these videos together because he figures out the puzzles easily)
as someone named Riley 0:26 gave me a fucking HEART ATTACK
Literally same. I had to run it back like wait, slow down real quick, YOU SAID WHO?? 😭
Do you have a friend named kate as well?
@@AkiraHartono Idk, but I do
@@AkiraHartonoI do 💀
SAMEEEE
Jump to 2:31:50 for the most masterful display of puzzle solving in the whole video!
Seriously though Jack its remarkable how you were able to walk through everything you did minutes after doing it to realize where and how you messed up, and even to realize the dial was on 8 several minutes after you first saw it... that's a LOT of information stored in your subconscious!
1:29 “why do I have ants roaming around my eyeballs?”
"Get this weirdo outta here" and "who the heck was that guy?!" took me OUT
