I just love this little detail: the company is called "Hameln" and their slogan is "Follow us to fun". That can't be a coincidence. Hameln is the German name of the town from the fairytale "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" (in German it's "Der Rattenfänger von Hameln"), which is double genius, because of the rat as the logo. In the fairytale a man successfully gets rid of the rats in town, but the town refuses to pay him as promised, so he kidnaps their children (Follow us to fun: the kids just followed him out of town and the kids in that universe seem to disappear as well). What is interesting and creepy: there was actually a historical case of many kids just disappearing from that town. Just thought that was interesting and a really cool Easter Egg
My mother is originally born in Hameln and I’m originally from Bonn, Germany. In Hameln there is a clock in town that every hour it goes off and tells the story in a way, with moving clock parts.
"Depending on the version, at most three children remained behind: one was lame and could not follow (The Pied Piper) quickly enough, the second was deaf and therefore could not hear the music, and the last was blind and therefore unable to see where he was going. These three informed the villagers of what had happened when they came out from church." - The three children could be Jordan, Lauren and Rebecca stuck in the tapes. Just saying those names because they're the only children's names we know so far. Wooly could be 'lame' Amanda 'blind' with the wool over her eyes and maybe there will be a third character to come....
A commenter on Cory's final Amanda video, named Alkamist, said this about the demon names; "To clear up confusion about the lines Rebecca says during the purple tapes, the director is making her read the names of demons. Bye yell is Bael, pie man is paimon, and baa lamb is definitely Balam. Hamlen relates to the Pied Piper of Hamelin, he used a flute to hypnotize the children of a village to take them away from their homes. The cartoon is the “flute” to hypnotise the kids watching and make them run away from their homes and most likely kidnap them."
It makes me sad to think about Amanda realizing Rebecca’s body is probably rotted away by now. Even if she did come back to reality, she’s bones now in a forgotten location.
I saw a theory that they performed experiments on Rebecca (the signing of the documents, the doctor leading her away, Amanda’s terror about the butcher shop, etc) and something that always stood out to me in the game was the canon ending where Amanda’s secret that she tells you is “I’m out there, somewhere” It sounds more like a cry for help/confiding in the viewer than a threat. It also makes sense when she states that she can feel herself “rotting” and that it feels kinda far away, it makes me think that she died during these experiments and somehow her body was either buried somewhere remote or she was turned into the demon somewhere through these experiments.
I have my theory that the document she signed was to use her on experimental procedures to help with the tv show. We see on another tape that Sam is trying to stop Amanda’s voice to be used for AI technology training thing for the show and the people working for the company tried to reassure him. I think after Sam’s disappearance, Hamlen did unethical experiments in secret
@@Salza02 that ai technically thing is bs btw she's actual saying the name of demons. The simple sperated the words to make it still sound right like "our pattoo lion" sounds oh what a fool I am if said slowly
It would make sense. Especially since that in the original demo, I believe you could find two irl locations that had to do with the show’s segment of burying/digging up things.
this makes so much sense like honestly i feel like rebecca/Amanda being dead and crying for help is what really happens behind the scenes and wooly is the real demon
I Just did a little bit of research and Balaam is the only one who isn't a demon but some kind of diviner in the Torah. It's quite interesting if maybe he is related to Wooly (Baa Lamb seems to recall the sheep), and maybe this is why Wooly can break the 4th wall and trying to give us suggestions? Just a theory, of course.
@@ellesharil6153 its definitly wooly cause if you look up a picture of Balaams physical apperance its LITERALLY wooly. as in a upright humanoid male sheep with bwak skin and fluffy white wool with a friendly smile.

Honestly I’m surprised on how Jack interpreted everything. The way I see it Amanda is Rebecca. Hamlin experimented on her and put her into the tapes along with a demon who possessed her. Hamlin also might have killed her once her consciousness was inside of the tapes since she said that she could feel herself rotting, and also said she was out there somewhere. Hamelin also killed Sam so he couldn’t interfere with their experiments.

im thinking the demon is wooly specifally cause the last name rebecca said before she mentioned hearing "a man in the headphones" was BALAAM. a demon obssesed with cute thing specifally childrens story books in which he breaks the fourth wall who appears as a UPRIGHT HUMANOID SHEEP.
@@lightskinshortyyyk in the original story the pied piper collected and killed the towns children when they didnt pay him for luring the rats. so itd make sense for the show to collect children in a way
The idea Wooly is a demon is interesting, also adds a new layer to how Wooly constantly tells Amanda she's just tired or confused once she begins to remember.
as far why wooly would let amanda "hurt" him its because of what he likes as a demon as BALAAM. he likes CUTE THINGS and CHILDRENS STORY BOOKS aka wooly wanted the show to actually be like a happy cute normal childrens show. just with himself and other actual children as the stars because that is what he as a demon likes. so he dosent punish amanda or fight back when she does creepy or dark things because he quite simply dosent like those things. this is also why amanda does them to begin with not to hurt kids but to torment WOOLY by doing everything he dosent like refusing to play along with the demon whos power trapped her soul.
For some reason, Wooly's demonic behaviour gives off Patrick Star vibes, one moment it looks like he's up to something smart (e.g. getting the viewer to have Amanda give him the card), and the next, his got minus brain cells (like the vid at the end)
Someone had said they watched the whole 9 min Wooly sitting video, apparently Wooly is just chilling and you can hear gun shots being fired-Also this is what a fandom page had said: It has been speculated by fans that the Demon possessing Amanda the adventurer is Balaam. During Rebecca’s interrogation, she names three demons and this one matches the characteristics of Amanda.(What that means is Amanda aka Rebecca was taken over by Balaam, also known as Wooly in the show.Wooly was trying to manipulate Amanda by appearing to be the innocent one when he was really taking her over.) Balaam in mythology was a demon who could manipulate pocket realms and used children as sacrifices. Before being adopted by Sam, who described Rebecca has having a rough life prior, Rebecca's previous mother is implied to have been a cannibal. This is hinted at in the Petting Zoo tape, where Amanda is observing the chickens. There, Amanda points out how "some mommies eat their babies", implying that Rebecca might have witnessed her mother eating one of her siblings. Further giving credence to this is how Amanda acts suspcious if the player chooses to call the rooster "Sam". Additionally, much of Amanda's triggers seem to revolve primarily around meat, as she is visibly distraut when she is forced to go to the butchershop in the altered version of episode 2.
I like that you connected cannibalism with the butcher scene, that was a something I never would’ve picked up on- but in saying that, if she’s uncomfortable with blood/meat I don’t understand how it was so easy for her to resort to butchering wooly
@@kalitashani6830 there's a theory that the butcher is where the missing children end up(like in the second ending of the game). So it might not be gore so much as seeing her friends' dead bodies- remembering that the neighborhood used to be full of children.
@@kalitashani6830and maybe that was her being taken over by a demon? Or getting fed up and trying to get out of the demon (Balam)'s grasp, so it was different circumstances. Not sure though, just speculating
As long as they don't screw it up with giving that monster thing more protagonism. They should play more with the idea of a rapture, even realistically, through mind control. The potential dwells in the villain's reason to do it.
Amanda’s super deep secret of “I’m still out there, somewhere…” really makes it seem like there will be a sequel. I wonder if Rebecca went missing or something and her body bot soul is lost somewhere.
At 5:09 when the doll asks you to turn around, I fully expected Jack to turn back around and have a gun pointed straight at his face because of the sound of, I assume, the tape appearing in the doll's arms.
The idea of Wooly being the secret bad guy (or one of them anyway) is amusing considering the treatment he gets throughout the tapes. So it would mean that either he's allowing it on purpose to make Amanda look like the bad one, or Amanda is fighting back by constantly maiming and doing other bad things to Wooly.
I don't necessarily think he's in control I think he's there to appease her, make her calmed down for the show to be popular again, he's constantly trying to stop you or Amanda seeking help, he doesn't like that she's sending out her letter. He must be some form of ai put in to monitor her, pull the wool over her eyes.
It could be he's encouraging her violent behavior and is pretending to be effected by it. It's like he's secretly training her to become a malevolent spirit.
Everyone is hyper focusing on Woolie being secretly bad, but there's nothing duplicitous about his actions, he's asking for help from you, and even helping Amanda at times like when the gift sequence goes awry. My theory is he's Sam, their speech patterns are similar, he's the one actually treating this like a kids show (Ie. Trying to remind Amanda to get help from parents in the pie episode), and hes constantly being punished, like he got in the way of the shows creators and this is what they did to him.
I agree, I feel like people are taking the idea of Wooly being the bad guy and running with it because he matches the description of Balaam, but he's not malicious, nor violent, rather expressing cowardice and fear.
I don’t think Wooly is Sam because I doubt Rebecca would treat him that way. It’s also worth nothing that Wooly is constantly trying to stop her from thinking about or talking about real things. In the credits Danny Gonzales is listed as “containment specialist”. Some people have theorized that is Wooly. Someone who worked at Hamelin and was put into the tapes as well, to keep Amanda distracted.
@@theblackrose3583 Yeah but she’s possessed slightly, sometimes she can be sympathetic or sad like in the kitten scene or when she talks about rotting but other times she’s literally a demon
the Demon possessing Amanda the adventurer is Balaam. I feel like we need to talk about the wording of 16:58 and Sam's dream of "welcoming more kids into this wild, creative world". While Sam probably means it genuinely, I really like the symbolism of how it's.. literally bringing kids into the world, like the hanging meat, stores, really everything with eyes. I think it's a testament to how much Hameln's involvement corrupted Sam's original idea.
I really am so confused about what/who Wooly is. When Sam talks about the show with Rebecca, I never hear Wooly mentioned once. Seems like Wooly only existed after Hamelin got rights to produce the animation. And he has control over the in-world universe of the tapes like Amanda, maybe not to the same extent? Whenever Wooly tries to talk to us one on one Amanda always intervenes, but if Amanda wills it she'll talk to us alone. If Wooly tries to speak up over Amanda, shes always quick to keep him quiet or remove him. Amanda does not consider Wooly her "best friend", like he asked for a special treat and Amanda just ignores him. In fact she ignores Wooly at times, or cuts him down. Hell, she goes as far as to hurting him and torturing him. Wooly always seems to want to keep the wholesomeness of what the show was meant to be, before Sam had disappeared. He wants to steer Amanda away from gruesome topics, telling her its gone too far. I can not tell if Wooly is a victim or somehow secretly a villain. Though when you enter "Sam" for the rooster question, he looks over to Amanda in shock...because he already knows who Sam is. So he knows who Rebecca is. Wooly knows alot already. And that bothers me.
The creators of this game are going places. This isn't just up in your face creepy, it has an eerie tone building up as you play until you get to something truly terrifying, and that combined with all the stuff filmed in real life makes it the perfect horror game.
14:36 This tape honestly makes me feel some melancholy. Sam just wanted to create a heartwarming show for kids, based on his daughter. Yet the corpo that bought the rights decided to use that for demonic purposes, and not only do both end up basically dead at this point, kids who loved the show started disappearing left and right.
This story is so interesting, but I feel as though Wooly is the missing link. We know he's definitely self aware, capable of begging the viewer for help, telling them when he believes Amanda is confused. I know that part in particular, with the birthday card, could make him seem like a villain, but he seems very gentle in his approach, non-aggressively and kindly redirect her to the episode's intent. I can't fathom Wooly being the villain here, and if he is he'd be the most convoluted villain ever written. I think all and all the villain is Hameln. They bought the rights to Amanda the Adventurer, telling Sam they'd make a cartoon out of it. Hameln wanted money, and to make the show more captivating they chose to use the star of the show, Rebecca, to invoke a demon, hence her speaking the demon names and hearing "the man in the headphones" (presumably Balaam, the demon that responded). Sam attempted to stop this, but was killed for it, being presumed missing. Hameln then took Rebecca and fused Balaam with her. Balaam is likely angry to be trapped in the body of a little girl doing the bidding of a greedy company, which may contribute itself to Amanda's behaviours. Amanda seems to be a monster that's insanely naive, reflecting both Rebecca and Balaam. This still leaves out Wooly though. Where does he fit? I don't think he's Sam, I don't think Hameln would have a reason to embed him into the show. Wooly was an afterthought from Hameln, not present in the original, live action version of the show, so I think the most likely option is that Wooly is another soul or entity trapped within the show by Hameln, but rather than being aggressive like Amanda, for some reason he is docile, cowardly and fearful. He seems to know that Amanda has little control over her aggression, and knows that sometimes she can get lost or forget what she's doing/where the episode is leading. He seems much more likely to be someone implemented to keep Amanda relaxed/at ease, but instead he became the primary target of her aggression, being tortured, attacked, injured and completely ignored by her at times. So rather than putting a damper on Amanda/Balaam, they simply put a victim directly in her wake. That's just my conjecture though. I feel like calling Wooly the villain is too easy, especially since he hasn't expressed anything to make it seem that way, apart from the birthday tape (and even that's a stretch) It seems he's simply someone they tried to use to keep Amanda in check, and in turn put Wooly, or whoever he was before, directly into her crosshairs.
I like this spin on the lore, and I'll add my own thoughts. Wooly is some kind of innocent soul, infused within the show like Rebecca. I feel like Baalamb was sort of infused with the show itself, not necessarily tied to one soul or the other. It's why the monster that comes to kill the player has a mixture of Amanda AND Wooly on its head/face. It's Baalamb, but it's been fused with two souls. It could also be a case where Amanda/Wooly aren't necessarily Rebecca and another person, but maybe newly-created souls using Amanda and another as the base, thus why they both are aware they're cartoons, aware they have a purpose, etc. Amanda is more susceptible to outbursts because Rebecca's soul was traumatized by the horrors she witnessed, while Wooly is more innocent and cannot be controlled by Baalamb.
Saying Sam couldn't be wooly because wooly wasnt present in the original, live action version of the show doesn't make sense. The original live action version was literally Sam's creation that he directed. It wasn't until after Hameln bought the show and turned it into a cartoon that wooly made an appearance. Which would garner more possibility that Sam was converted into wooly, simply because sam disappeared around the same time the show was turned into a cartoon and wooly made his first appearance. Although I don't believe wooly is Sam just based off wooly's behavior, its still a possibility.
i agree with this too. they didn’t have anyone else present for the birthday to even be for, and amanda seemed really distressed about not knowing who’s birthday it was. wooly simply served as a person for amanda to give the gift to in that moment. non exactly evil or villainous. also with amanda attacking him, and winning, it really doesn’t make sense for him to be the villain at all to me. if anything, amanda is the most in control, despite her confusion and agressive outbursts.
You mentioned thinking another soul was infused with the game and basically created wooly, what if its the child of the woman who reached out to Kate (the characters aunt) to look into their disappearance more? maybe the child was so obsessed with the show as described in the letter but what if it was the first show and not the cartoon? and somehow he got kidnapped and involved with it somehow and was fused with the newly introduced character for the cartoon, which is wooly. sorry if this doesn't make sense
This is what me and probably many other people interpreted the secret tapes: Basically after adopting Rebecca, Sam is inspired to make a live-action show which would turn out to be Amanda the Adventurer with Rebecca as Amanda. The show, with Aunt Kate promoting it with every storytime, gained a massive following. At some point during the show’s fame, Hameln approached Sam with the interest of making Amanda the Adventurer into a cartoon (hence the tapes we see in the attic), to which Sam is very excited about. However, during the cartoon show’s production of it, Sam became more concerned and suspicious about Hameln’s true intentions with the show and Rebecca (hence his reaction to when Rebecca is trying to read out “Paimon”, “Baal”, etc., and her reaction to the “man in the headphones”). It may have come to the point where Hameln decided to remove Sam from the equation which leads to Sam’s disappearance and his daughter by herself with the Hameln company. Without Sam, Hameln basically own the rights to Rebecca which leads to her unknowingly sign her life away to become an experiment for the devil which I would call “The Pied Piper Experiment” since that’s the connection that almost everyone makes (as shown in one of the tapes where Rebecca signs the contract). Rebecca is now physically dead but her subconscious is now trapped within the tapes (hence when Amanda says she feels herself rotting and that she’s still out there somewhere). The more we learn about the story, the more we realized how sad Sam and Rebecca’s stories are. All Sam wanted is to share the light that Rebecca shared with him to the world only for that light to be corrupted by a company who takes advantage of it and use it as the opposite to gain children, possibly to add more to their Pied Piper experiment. Edit: This is actually a lot of fun seeing you guys add in some info and/or making your own theories about it! I enjoy having these conversations and theorizing back and forward!! Can’t wait for the devs to give us more lore whether it’s through a sequel game or something else entirely. :>
@@caitlindulas8281 I don’t have a personal theory about Wooly myself but some are saying that Wooly is one of the victims trapped or that Wooly is the true villain
The story of the Pied Piper is set in the town of Hamelin, Germany (Hameln). The story is about a stranger who comes and helps the town of their rat infestation by playing his pipe and leading the rats into the river where they end up drowning. The townspeople ended up not wanting to pay the Pied Piper for relieving them of the infestation which ended up making him angry. In retaliation, he played his flute and the children of the townspeople followed the Pied Piper to a cave where he put all of the children in it and sealed them away except for two children; a boy and a girl. The boy injured his leg (much like Woolie) and the girl ran to town and told the townspeople what happened. The townspeople begged for forgiveness and promised him vast amounts of gold. The Pied Piper let the children go and then disappeared, and the townspeople of Hamelin learned to not be greedy and ungrateful. There's a lot to look at into this, as well. Also a sidenote, Lauren, the birthday girl who's too focused on watching Amanda The Adventurer to celebrate, ends up fleeing/vanishing suddenly.
This lore goes so much further then just a man adopting a girl and creating a show that turns evil... this is so much more then that and I can't wait to see the sequel!
So basically. Pay your animators so they don't sacrifice your kids to the devil /j /lh For real though, that's a thought Rebecca got used by Hamlin and its upsetting to think that she's just a scared little girl that doesn't even know she's possessed. And poor Sam, he just wanted to share the happiness his daughter brought him. Just oof.
I don't know how no one else in the game had red flags appear besides Kate when the news reporter talked about what Hameln said about Sam "abandoning" Rebecca and the show. To me it was weird why they said abandoned as if he got up one day and said to himself "Yup I'm going to abandon my adopted daughter and my dream show!" Anybody who knew him would have not believed that for a second.
That was a statement put out by the company to shift the blame to Sam, and make him a bad guy. It was also to have a type of "evidence" in furthering the legal control/guardianship over Rebecca. Have to remember, there are always at least 2 sides to every story.
Exactly! Everyone was saying he disappeared, but Hameln specifically said he abandoned Rebecca and the show. I’m thinking Hameln told this to Rebecca as well, which would explain why in the family tape, Amanda gets all upset about talking about dads and families, saying “there’s no one to love her”
this is the first time since the first fnaf games i actually got interested in a lore of an indie horror game, i was starving for something like this, devs are going places, hopefully they can flash it out even more
@@dylansharp8471I mean bendy ish yeah, but I mean poppy was just ridiculous all around lol and that’s saying something when comparing it to these kinds of things.
I think the lore here is that Sam adopted Rebecca and after watching her learn and play, created a live action Dora-esque show called Amanda the adventurer starring his daughter. At some point, possibly during the height of it's popularity, Hameln approached Sam and offered to convert the show into animation form. Sam said yes, unaware of their true motives. Hameln would then begin the process of turning Rebecca into the cartoon character Amanda. Sam got suspicious or maybe he even directly found out what they were doing. Either way he wanted out of this nonsense, he wanted to protect his daughter. Hameln didn't like that he was getting in the way of their plans, so they made him "disappear" and then they kept going. Possibly calling on the demons Bael, Paimon, and Balam to split Rebecca's soul in two, one half became the Amanda demon and the other half became Amanda the character. The character Amanda acts the most like Rebecca being angry, scared, sad, and confused on what's going on and why this happened. So they likely gave her Wooly to be a foil to her actions to keep her in line. Wooly could either be Balam or he could be his own character. But in the end, Hameln's goal was to create a show that would have character Amanda essentially hypnotise and lure children away from their families to either be kidnapped or killed by demon Amanda. Just like the Pied Piper from Hamelin. There's still a lot we don't yet know but I hope we get more content in the future and I hope my comment helped other people understand a little more.
The well-known legend of the ratcatcher, the Pied Piper of Hamelin, became associated in the 16th century with the alleged departure and fate of the children of Hameln, Germany, in 1284.
I feel like Hameln is a cult, who is just really good at pretending to not be one. And when the children are lured away, Hameln sacrifices them. Basically, I think it's a Pied Piper Cult Story.
The hints for the tapes were there the whole time. There's a point that she said "nobody" and it was in all caps. When she's talking about the chickens, you can hear her voice become sad when she mentions the father chicken (yet she says the others normally) which means there was something emotional there, hence why you write Sam. The clues are are either behind her in letters or numbers, in the subtitles, and in the tone of her voice. This is a really cool game and I can't wait for a part two where they explain the full lore and solve everything
I also don't trust Wooly and him looking like the victim is just a "facade". He doesn't want Amanda to reveal the truth to the player and only when he's gone she is free to tell the truth. Wooly could be the company or one of the demons under the company's control.
What weirds me out is when you type "Sam", watch the barn...it looks at you very suddenly. Looks like Sam potentially got sucked into the world as well, but as a sentient being that has no mouth, so he can only scream with his eyes. This game legit creeps me out, but I'm also intrigued by the story and hope the next installment is just as good.
I'm so glad you revisited this game. Amanda is DEFINITELY not the bad one here. She seems to be a spirit stuck in the show forced to reenact the show by either Wooly or someone from Hamlin. She makes multiple references suggesting her dead body is buried somewhere in the forest, and if you tell her you won't save the lonely kitten she'll have a panic attack.
you know, I wouldn't be surprised if the way she keeps hurting Wooly is Rebecca acting out against Hameln/whatever demon entity(ies) they used her to summon. she's not cruel, she just wants to get out kinda deal?
Abt her body in the forest, that room the doctor was taking Rebecca to looked like the outside and trees. Not sure if there’s a correlation but it stood out to me more than Rebecca signing a paper
I think it's also a meta-commentary on how this little indie game became much bigger than it expected, then something else entirely from the initial idea and probably how fun/scary it is when people start really following you and you feel that pressure to deliver (also the appeal to give it to a massive company that will suck the soul out of it, to make it a commercial success).
Theory: Amanda was forcefully trapped in the tapes alongside wooly and Amanda is just trying to find and kill the one who somehow trapped her and wooly in the tapes, Amanda is still alive as she stated that she "feels" herself rotting but it "feels" far away,as we go through the gameplay wooly is trying to stop Amanda because he thinks that she is trying to kill the wrong person but can't fight back since Amanda has full control over the tapes and can erase everything
Well she seems to have 2 sides. She wants to kill AND not, at the same time. Because she didn't want to go to the meat shop and said, "why can't I stop it!?" like she's being controlled...
there’s also the part where she says she’s still out there (or something along those lines- it’s in the tape where she asks if she can tell you a secret). could be a reference to rebecca’s physical body being out there still (edit to add:) and possibly that it hasn’t been found
I honestly think it’s one of the demons they made her summon and call upon that has her trapped in the cartoon. Notice how the only prey item to this cursed cartoon is children? Someone also brought up that the rat or mouse in the companies logo is a reference to the pied piper. A guy who uses a flute to lure mice/rats out of his village. But instead of mice, it’s children. In another video they explain that one of the demons is attracted to humans manly young children and like cute and childish stuff. Maybe the entity that torments Rebecca/Amanda is the demon? Notice how she gets more possessed when she’s upset or angry.
@@ToxicCatt-y7c i like the pied piper bit, i knew there was something there but didnt piece it together until i read that, the pied piper is from hamelin, the company is called hameln.
I don't know why but I get the feeling Wooly is Sam. He tries o steer her towards happier ends to each show, he can break the fourth wall and he shows no malice towards Amanda, only fear. Plus I think it's possible that Rebecca was already special before she was adopted as Hamln seemed very interested in her specifically and the show really took off because of her.
Well, this is interesting. After all, Sam said in that coffee break show that she's been through so much, something before she got adopted maybe. Sam disappeared, perhaps that has something to do with Amanda (Rebecca) killing Wooly. And maybe the wool over her eyes wasn't just metaphorically being a wolf in sheep's clothing, but also Sam trying to steer her life or view and save her from evil.
I do really like the idea of Wooly being the "wolf in sheep's clothing" and would fit the hidden tape where Rebecca mentions a "man in the headphones" which could totally be Wooly (or whatever horrible creature he really is) talking to her. (And the wool over the eyes of the Amanda creature is the same texture as Wooly's body!)
Eyes aren't white that I know of; white means you can see light reflecting from (or generated by, which creates similar problems) that surface and not going in. Pupils are black, and that's the part of your eye that receives light. Plus, if we're talking about demons, we're talking about something that's all about the symbology of appearance.
I just think it’s some sort of AI to keep her under control,or maybe it is some kind of demon. But what I do know is that Amanda seems to take joy in neglecting and torturing wooly, maybe because he is the closest thing to Hameln, most likely the cause of why she’s stuck in there and messed up. I really wanna get more info on Wooly and Amanda, cus so far is confusing.
I really wish Sean would have seen what happens when you keep saying no to helping the lonely kitten. One of the more powerful scenes in the game, I think.
@@mlpdisneylover lengthening the comment to avoid spoilers Each time you say no, she becomes more and more distressed, and eventually her face distorts into that of the monster that attacks you. The tape cuts out, and the demon attacks you.
If Balaam (Baa Lamb) was meant to be Wooly, I think it's interesting that Rebecca didn't finish chanting his name, and Wooly ended up the most pure being in the tapes.
The interesting part of the newspaper clipping is were it cuts off at "Lacey: So much of the show is about following your imagination. What inspired you to produce a show that is so focused on getting our kids".
These tapes give me the following theory: Amanda/Rebecca was a rescued victim of abuse. Adopted by Sam she tried to keep positive and eventually Sam created Amanda the Adventurer. Though as the show blew up in popularity the “director” offered on giving the show the proper budget it needed and turned the show from live acting to CGI animation. Though the director had much darker plans that Sam was constantly trying to intercept. Through the tape discussing Rebecca’s vocal training it appeared as if the director was developing an AI generated voice of Amanda, creepily enough by having Rebecca vaguely recite demon names. Some time after this Sam goes missing, presumably dead, and because of Amanda’s incapability of avoiding entering the butchery in one of the tapes, it’s to be assumed Rebecca had some form of exposure to her step-father’s murder. This is what broke Rebecca, and allowed the director to both perfect the AI Amanda for the show, but also give Rebecca a sense of having nobody to help her, and allow the director to brainwash her. Eventually the AI was complete and Rebecca was disposed of just like Sam. However being created directly by Rebecca the Amanda that had resulted and in conjunction the one we see in the tapes are a mix of the brainwashing of the director, and Rebecca’s trauma. This is why she will give messages such as “don’t listen to your parents” but still react to information about Rebecca. Wooly also is a key piece for Amanda’s character, as he is meant to be a personification of Sam in a similar sense Amanda is to Rebecca. This is why Wooly is someone Amanda will respect at one moment, being Rebecca’s love of her late father, but then abuse at another, being the brainwashing the director did. It is also why Wooly tried to convince Amanda out of bad behavior or deescalate the situation, as Wooly is taking a father role being a representation of Sam. But in the end Wooly is powerless against Amanda much like how the director disposed of Sam. Finally Amanda is fully aware of her real life counterpart, potentially even containing Rebecca’s spirit, as she both describes herself rotting, and her big secret being that she is out there it all becomes clear that Rebecca is dead and buried, and throughout it all Amanda’s goal in the whole situation is to fight against her very world to try to get the message out that Rebecca was murdered by her very creators.
More likely Belial not Baal since Belial requires sacrifice and I assume the dad might have been used? He also needs gifts (and theres two episodes where Amanda is getting gifts for someone) But Baal is represented by a toad, man, and cat, and the cat is seen a bit too.
@@Glaycier it's definitely Bael/Baal. The need for sacrifices probably come from Balaam as in the Bible he's a diviner and needed sacrifices to appease the Gods for the curses King Balak requested. What I like about this game is that all three of those names are used in some way. Bael's main contribution being the ability to turn men/things invisible and popularity (the show evil secrets literally hidden in the plain sight of parents and Sam seemingly vanishing). Paimon's contribution probably being his ability to create things and to reanimate the dead(Amanda being a reanimated version of Rebecca). Balaam is a little harder for me to pin point in terms of his use in the storyline but it makes sense that Wooly's also able to interact with the viewers as Balaam's gift is hearing and speaking God's word sort of like a prophet. However, though he's seen as evil in the Bible he's only ever been able to relay God's word. He can do nothing else so even his curses become blessings. If the story continues like I hope it continues Wooly will have a new "God" as Hameln is brought down somehow and goes into the ownership of a morally better company and he will have a redemption of sorts cause I love his character
I have a feeling that Amanda can only understand what you can type in but wooly can actually see you through the screen and that’s why he can actually grab the screen and shake it around symbolizing he’s much more aware of what you’re instigating
@@housewilma4904 But Wooly isn't inherently malicious, nor does he go out of his way to harm Amanda, he's actually quite a coward. It seems more likely that he's meant to keep Amanda in check, rather than being the villain himself.
I don’t know whether Amanda can see you, but we know she can hear you. In the birthday tape with the little girl Lauren, we hear her say “I love mint chocolate chip ice cream.” After hearing the dad mention it
Well, i think what you "Type in" is as if the person that you are the game is saying it, like when we click stuff we are actually picking it, same with typing we are actually saying it out loud
I have a feeling that Wooly is playing a wolf in sheep’s clothing role. He seems to be guiding Amanda in a way by using the viewer. When Amanda became confused, Wooly used the viewer to gets her back on track. He could be controlling her in a way or be part of the problem
I don't know who he is but I think he's bad, just not malicious. He tries to keep the show on track, to draw in more kids, to refill the neighborhood. Amanda keeps putting a damper on that by getting aggressive.
I find it interesting that the secret tapes aren't tied to a specific secret each but always show up in the same colour order no mater in what order you do the secrets in.
There was one more ending you didn’t discover, you basically had to go back to the part where Amanda tries to break out of the Tv and you have to throw the brick at it after finding all 5 secret tapes, something new happens afterwards
My biggest issue with Willy is that he isn’t credited in the game’s video credits. Amanda is, but not him. It’s like the studio that made Amanda didn’t even create him. My theory is that the demon that is possessing Amanda also let in another-Wooly (Balam) on accident. Wooly keeps an eye on things and tries to keep Amanda on track and not become aware of the fact that she’s trapped in a show. That’s why he always interferes when she gets too confused.
I'm actually becoming obsessed with this lore especially because it's so interesting despite being such a small game. There's such small details in each of your options that feels like a new opportunity for lore.
Did anyone else notice that in the origional tapes the sort of logo thing they have for the show displays Amanda and Wooly behind an apple, however for the secret tape it's just Wooly, but with a peach instead? I thought it was an intresting detail, because Wooly is allergic to apples, and likes peaches.
So, from what i've got: Sam isn't biologically Rebecca's dad. He adopted her, and before that she got through some kind of a bad experience. They were just normal family, and at some point Sam decided to start filming show "Amanda the adventurer" starring his daughter to remind her and other children with a traumatic experience that "world is a wonderful place", "adventures await" and teach them some useful skills in the process. The show was a huge success in the local neighborhood. (from "coffee break with Sadie", green tape) Then that "Hameln entertainment" took interest in it and decided to make something big - at least bigger than it was - out if it. As the setup (straightup "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" references - name, rat logo, "FOLLOW US to fun") suggests they had ulterior motives. They wanted to harvest/trap children souls or just children (as mentioning of the demon's names suggests + abduction, orange tape). And for that purpose they took someone both children and their parents adored - Rebecca as The Amanda the Adventurer - and placed demon inside her (bc according to some traditions chanting demon's names is the fast way to get possessed - purple tape). I didn't quite get what exactly happened to Rebecca. Either her body and soul got separated, which would explain how she can be on the tape (her trapped soul) and simultaneously in the attic biting head off protagonist (her body, possessed by demon and therefore deformed). Or she got merged with demon, which would explain her confused and/or panicked reactions to certain words one moment and violent and cruel behavior the other. The process of possession probably was gradual. I thought abt it, when I took a closer look at the end credits. At first it was: "cast Rebecca Colton as Amanda the Adventurer" but then: "cast Amanda Rebecca Colton" Also they cancelled all meetings with Rebecca claiming that she "needs time out of the spotlight" but at this point Rebecca herself was probably not alive/trapped on the recording/possesed (red tape). I believe that "Hameln entertainment" has something to do with Sam's disappearance too. He clearly was unhappy with what they was doing to his daughter (purple tape), so they could get rid of him for their convenience. He could be first/one of the first victims (considering how every episode there is entaerly different crew on the credits) of the cassets. He could be Wooly. Or Kate could be Wooly actually, considering that Amanda mentions that "today is her friend's birthday" and coincidently it's also Wooly's birthday today. It's probably easy to confirm - there are some birthday dates mentioned in the game, but i'm too lazy to do that at this point 🙃 Kate also personally knew Rebecca/Amanda through the library meetings and was actually her friend (green tape?) By the way, it took me some time to realize how's protagonist connected to all of it 🤪Kate is their aunt.
Yes! Happy I found your comment. Here is what I thought: I think since Rebecca was adopted and has apparently been through a lot before, she enjoyed her new life as the star of the show so much that she signed away her soul to BE Amanda in the cartoon version. Because she couldn't cope with losing her new (good) life. Her body might still exist in some kind of coma, so it is said that she needs to "recover" somewhere. Maybe in a psych ward of she is conscious but possesed by the demons. Regarding what you said about her body: If I am correct and her soul is now IN Amanda, her body may have died and, as part of the contract with the demons, now be theirs to use.
@@nanathekatz that’s a good theory especially considering the line “sometimes, i feel myself… rotting.” “but.. it feels far away!” she could be hinting to her real body rotting in the real world far away, the producers at hamlin could have shipped her dead body off so as not to cause suspicion, another thing i’d like to add is that hamlin probably killed sam or caused him to go missing because of the comment “maybe you should go take a walk” directed at sam when he asks them to stop making rebecca say the demons names
@silly little goober there is one other thing ya'll might of missed. during the tape where Amanda is speaking of "friends sharing," she eventually asks if she can share a big secret with you. after replying 'yes' a few times, Amanda finally says, "I'm still out there, somewhere." implying that her actual body is not in the show, but is indeed elsewhere in the real world. very likely buried someplace, which I gather is hinted at in the 'everything rots' tape, with Amanda mentioning she sometimes feels like she is rotting, but it's far away.
Jack, there is more of the Pied Piper story (Probably why she said "Pie man"). When *_Hamelin_* refused to pay the Piper for his service, the saviour turned into a more satanic seducer and came for *_Hamelin’s children._* Entranced by the notes of his flute, the transfixed boys and girls *_followed the Piper out of town and simply vanished._*
Aaaand now I realize when Rebecca talks about the "man in the headphones", she's mistaking the demon's Mickey Mouse ear things for headphones. The demon was already in the room with them telling her what to do
I'm really loving the lore in this game! What I theorize is that Hameln, being a reference to the town in the tale of the Pied Piper, are one of two evils going on here. They saw how popular the original Amanda the Adevnturer was and wanted to be a cartoon powerhouse out of greed, so they offered up the cartoon to get a hold of the creator and the talent (dad and daughter). They wanted a way to capture viewers, not necessarily harm them, but to entrance them and sought supernatural means of doing it. But they needed a host/sacrifice and seeing as Rebecca was THE voice of the show, they figured she would be perfect. They had her reading off names of demons to try and find any demon at all that would grant them this power and attach to Rebecca. Baalam was the one that responded, and possessed Rebecca. I think it would be about this time where Sam "disappeared", because he wanted to help his daughter with fight whatever the company did to her. They killed him and held onto their possessed "sacrifice" to integrate it into their AI program to get tons of viewers hooked on the show with Baalam's "help". But Baalam, "the man in the headphones" was tricked into possessing Rebecca, a child with no real autonomy, to do the bidding of Hameln, who only wanted a widely successful show due to greed (the same greed that the original villagers of Hamelin had when they wouldn't pay the Piper) Hameln experimented on Rebecca, successfully implanting both her voice and Baalam's influence into their AI to make the character Amanda. Rebecca died in the process, and was disposed of because the company had what they needed from both her and the demon. They realized after that Baalam was angry and unruly and had to add a being to try to keep both Rebecca from realizing what happened to her, and Baalam in check, which became Wooly. They even modeled him into a sheep that stands upright, like depictions of Baalam. But the demon himself was angry for being tricked, and angry that Hameln thought they could control him, and that's why he occasionally lashes out against Wooly. He also twisted his influence to not just entrance kids, but actually take them away, just like the pied Piper. He was wronged by Hameln and so their vision for greed was corrupted to so far more harm than intended. All of the disappeared children are anything with eyes in the show itself. Baalam would call them into the light like the escape ending, through doorways or something, and they would be transported into the show itself. I don't think that Wooly is Sam, but I do think he also is a soul trapped by Hameln to act as a sentient guard to Amanda, but he was unwilling and knew about the evils of the company, which is why he's scared of both the company (doesn't want Amanda to figure out what happened to the real her, Rebecca), and of the demonic entity that is attached to Amanda and seeks revenge and an escape. I guess the last thing is that although Baalam is trapped in the tapes as part of Amanda, he has influence over the body that Hameln attached him to, and that's why the corrupted body of Rebecca can find and kill you when you do enough wrong to suppress Rebecca and anger Amanda, it give Baalam more power when Rebecca is suppressed and he can command the body to find and kill you, thus finding the tapes (maybe to free himself?) Idk prob a bunch of gibberish but it made me think a lot and I wanted to get the words out. Sorry for the length and also love you Sean!
This makes a lot of sense and probably the most extensive theory here. I would add a few things like that she was dismembered (check out another comment here explaining it) and that Wooly might be a demon too that's manipulating the viewer to make Amanda (Rebecca) seem evil. Very underrated comment. Needs more attention
I like to think Baalam is actually the lamb that goes baa, aka Wooly, and that Amanda torturing him is actually her fighting back like a badass, kicking the demon's ass at every turn. "I'm not trapped in here with _you._ Can you tell me what's trapped?" Answer: _You're trapped in here with me!_ "Good job!"
For me the 6th hidden tape is actually important. In the video Wooly is sitting there searching for inspiration but Amanda is not there yet. For me Wooly represents Sam before he adopted Rebecca and when he disappeared he actually became Wooly.
I too think wooly is Sam, like perhaps he has been imprisoned within the tapes by the three demons that were mentioned? It seems quite likely if we look at your theory and then think maybe the creator now fears his creation you know? Like how Rebecca said she didn’t wanna do what the man in the headphones told her to and that as a consequence Sam was taken away and perhaps the “man” was really just one or all three of the demons as she summoned them by repeatedly saying their names, also the thing she signed may have been as jack said, a deed made with the devil, signing her soul away even. It makes sense to me if you think of it like this.
@@ApolloArcher1 In my opinion the Hamlin managed to summon all three demons inside the tapes waiting for the perfect host for them. And when Rebecca signed the contract she allowed the demon to enter her body and her soul went in the tapes. That's what i think she means when she said "I'm still out there". What if Sam's body is still out there too? Sequel? :D
I like to point out and I did this in the last video of Amanda as well that the "Hamlin" company logo is a mouse, which is a reference to the story of the Pied Piper; for those who don't know the story: it's about a town named Hamlin that got infested with rats, so the Pied Piper showed up he went to the king of the town and said "hey if you pay me I'll get rid of the rats" so the king agreed. Once the Pied Piper got rid of the rats with his magic flute he went to the king again for payment but then was betrayed by the king and wasn't paid. So Pied Piper played his flute and lured all the towns kids into a cave and sealed them up never to be heard from again. (In some versions of the story the Pied Piper kills the kids) and it's a nice nod that Amanda is being used to lure kids and kidnap them.
14:09 this is exactly what i've been thinking. my theory is that rebecca's soul or a part of her brain was extracted from her through surgery (that's why we see her sign a contract along with the suited man and someone that looks like a doctor) and they somehow put and trapped her inside the virtual body through amanda so that Hameln can lure kids more effectively for their evil motives. amanda is seen breaking character, glitching and lashing out making it seem like she's the bugged one. ever since the pilot episode we've pitied woolly because he's always the victim of amanda's sinister behaviour. maybe Hameln knew a part of rebecca would still be tainted on amanda which would expose their company, and they took it into consideration. they added woolly as a red herring. woolly is there to keep rebecca from breaking out and also making it seem like amanda's the crazy one. and maybe woolly is on Hameln's side and amanda is only trying to let us know, not the other way
Same what i been thinking wooly is there to keep her in which is why he gets more anxious as the tapes keep going and even when she tried to expose her secret and wooly stopped her which is why she unalived him and then exposed her secret of her still being out there
The theory that wooly is actually the bad guy is really cool. There's the part, on the last tape i think, where she's trying to kill him and says "who are you going to help?" or sth like that and when Sean chose Wooly she seemed upset, like sad. And there's the whole thing with the cat too. Maybe she needs help and is trying to tell the player.
This is a cool theory. What if Wooly is helping to keep her trapped in the show? He comes off as nice and caring but really is trying to manipulate her to stay?
@@shina1399 Possibly Balaam is a demon who has a particular obsession with cute things, especially children's storybooks, and is known for breaking the fourth wall. This demon takes the form of an upright humanoid sheep. It's possible that Balaam and Wooly are the same character. The director makes her summon him.
No, when you choose Wooly her tone is like "Oh. You're gonna side with him? Okay, piss off then." I really don't even get where all the "Wooly is evil" is coming from, he's AFRAID of Amanda and constantly tries to steer her away from the gruesome shit she starts doing and talking about completely unprompted.
Rebecca is basically Amanda. Every time she seems to remember about her past Wooly tries to get her back on track because when she's upset or angry the entity gets triggered. It's thought that the demon Balam (Balam had the ability of limited precognition, mortals would worship and entreat him for power or glimpses of the future. He was also capable of shapeshifting. He gives perfect answers on things past, present, and to come, and can also make men invisible and witty. He sees through the 4th dimension, and can view anyone's future past or fate, given the right price.) is residing inside of her. It is thought to be him because although Hamlen decided to call on 3 demons, in order to gain knowledge they seemed to have succeeded in summoning this one. The 4th wall break as well as taking people into his dimension are strong indicators. You call on a demon by saying their name 3 times, hence why the "Baah Lamb" and other phrases got repeated 3 times. They made Sam disappear because he was getting in their way ...obviously to protect his daughter. They succeeded in summoning Balam and as exchange for knowledge to Hamlen he took the children that then went missing. As for wooly I'm not sure if it's Sam himself and they tried to tie his soul to the TV show ro see if it would work well before going through with tying Rebecca to it. OR if it's an AI created to keep the entity Balam at bay by calming Rebecca. ... Rebecca herself seems to still be alive "I'm out there" indicating that she is still somewhere "we have to help her before it's too late". Or she is already dead "I can feel myself ...rotting", however that could also mean that she's rotting as in aging and her mind is getting more and more detached form her body. So it's more of a metaphorical rotting. Like when you have no work and just sit at home "rotting away". Hope to find out more about it in the future!!!
One of the things that was bugging me is when Amanda tries to amputate Wooly's leg, you had a choice to either help him, or help Amanda. I only saw Jack help Wooly- which ended in him being hurt anyways. What if you helped Amanda? Like, you did everything right and you helped Amanda completely? I wonder if it'd unlock something
there is different dialogue if you help amanda, she says something like ‘we need to knock the patient unconscious so we can continue the operation!’ does so with wooly, and says something along the lines of ‘everything will be ok wooly! dont worry!’ and its a little unsettling and sad :(
There is the 'detective' ending you can get if you get all 5 tapes and say yes to Amanda's secret and make sure to turn your character around fast toward the table so you don't miss it happening.
I’m glad other people looked at the eye and were like “Nah those aren’t eyes it’s wool” because like I started to think that and had no idea if anyone thought of the whole “pulling wool over the eyes” kinda thing.
I'm glad someone mentioned it because Monster Amanda was the only thing that didn't make sense until I heard that explained. I definitely think Wooly is the secret bad guy.
When Jack gave the doll the flower she started speaking ant thanking him, but my brain immediately recognised the voice and I am 99.9% sure that that voice actor is Poppy from poppy play time :0
Bael, Paimon, and Balam are all demon kings in the Ars Goetia, the Lesser Keys of Solomon. Interestingly, these three are considered teachers. Two of them mention turning people invisible. Making people disappear. We know Sam has disappeared, but we also know from Amanda (and the chalk body outlines) "something bad happened" and Wooly says, "do you think our friends could come back to our neighborhood?" The one who doesn't do that can reveal secrets, which is the whole point of the game: uncovering the secrets of the tapes and the truth behind them. Bael: attributed with teaching science and granting invisibility Paimon: Paimon teaches all arts, philosophies, and sciences, and secret things; he can reveal all mysteries of the Earth, wind, and water, what the mind is, and where it is, and everything the conjurer wants to know. Balam: He gives perfect answers on things past, present, and to come, and can also make men invisible and witty. I really don't think demons are actually involved though, or at least not one of those three.
I feel like more story needs to come out. Like what actually happened to the dad, and what they did to Rebecca. And figuring out Wooly too. I feel like we only have the tip of the iceberg
I think the dad (sam) is the barn on the farm tape, he has blood shoot eye's which I imagine hes furious about what Hamelin has done to his daughter and his eyes look at the player when you type in sam.
A child's father goes missing, and they call it abandonment. Pretty realistic. 7:15 I think Wooly is Sam. That her reading the demon names around him trapped him too.
I love that he picked up on the Paimon connection without realizing it lol I was far from the first to realize they were referencing goetic demons, but I'm proud that I figured it out before seeing others talk about it.
yeah to anyone who remotely knows demon lore and has heard of some of their names know that if you repeat their names enough times it basically spawns them/makes them possess you. to me bye yell was the dead giveaway.
@@crisscrossam It depends on where you get your information because that's not entirely the case. Some rituals include the use of a black mirror while others claim to need sigils and other objects I'm not super familiar with since I'm not out here summoning demons lol The luciferian goetia seems to lean on the black mirror method of conjuring for most of the demons, though that version tends to be a bit more morally ambiguous compared to the mostly negative connotations of the Ars Goetia or the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum which leans more on the negative aspects of the demons. Some also suggest that you can either invoke or evoke a demon. One is a more direct intention to conjure the demon while the other is more of a passive thing.
If Amanda is Rebecca trapped in the TV, then the reason she chose cookies is probably because that's what their "studio neighbor" always shared with them.
21:18 All demon names Bye-Yell = Bael Pie-Man = Paimon Baa-Lamb = Balam Also, notable that most of the name corresponds to a tape that you play. Yell at the player or say bye to o friend. Bake a pie. The lamb goes baa. There is probably more integration there that I just haven't noticed yet too
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this, but Rebecca was totally killed by the studio and dismembered and/or experimented on. This can be seen in how scared Amanda is when trying to get her to go to the butcher shop, and then further hinted at in the ending where the viewer is hanging from a meathook. At one point, when the tapes are starting to get corrupted and pieced together to give a clue, the subtitles specifically say "Amanda (chopped up):" Another thing that jumped out at me was in the live action tape of Rebecca being taken from the document signing into a separate, guarded room. From what we could see, there is a light inside the room that is reminiscent of surgey type lights (ie. Its height and strange shape), and she was most botably led into the room by what looked like a doctor. This possibility also relates to how the doctor's room looked in the second viewing of the Accident tape and how Amanda was talking about which tools to use on Woolly's head. Maybe this is what happened to Rebecca in real life, and explains why a neurosurgeon was credited in the shows ending scenes. The reason the company did this was to probably finish the "AI training" that Sam had put a stop to. With Sam gone, they didnt need to use the guise of training anymore and perhaps implemented Rebecca herself into the Amanda character (And yes I've commented this on another video)
Didn't she always want to go to the meat shop? (I mean in the first game.) What I think is she just broke free for a bit from the monsters control and doesn't want to go there. Considering she says, "why can't I stop it?".
@@MrKneeBeeYTit's hard not to see where the original comment is coming from when you pair it with the rest of the information. I never thought about it before, but yeah this dismemberment theory makes a lot of sense.
Just a theory but all I’m gonna say is that it’s interesting that the name of the company (HAM___) has a mouse logo… and children are disappearing… maybe a old nursery rhyme/story could help with understanding the lore 😜 Another hint… >> 🪈 The P___ P___ of Hamelin
18:27 "It's like Amanda's just taking on information from the outside world" I mentioned this last video how in the first live action tape, after the child was supposedly kidnapped, Amanda repeated the ice cream flavor the dad had said.
I love how jack wanted to dive into the Lore of Amanda the adventure like most of the gamers did, it clears that this game has a very interesting plot into it and there's probably more that we're going to discover about this game in the future
I think it's interesting that a lot of people immediately latched onto "they're training an AI" at first before recognizing the names of the demons that are mentioned. I feel like a few years ago (before ChatGPT) people would have jumped on the demon train immediately.
Power of concepts becoming widespread. Already was a small buzz going on about AI around 2016 or so, but people would've probably still latched on to malevolent spirits. FNaF influence and all that.
Props to Robin for editing. A lot was cut out since we've seen it before and i really appreciate it as someone who watches multiple playthroughs 💝. And obviously thank you Sean for finding all the tapes. I love when games get completed
19:26 in this purple tape, my theory is that we actually learn about Hameln's intentions. the cameraman pans into a weird circular depiction on the wall, which at first glance it didn't pay much attention to but when I watched it a second time I noticed it looked a lot like a simplistic drawing of the "firmament" from the Ars Goetia. You can look up pictures of it, but I won't expand on the firmament a lot but basically all the context you need is that it's one of the most prominent things in the Ars Goetia, a demon book. But there's more evidence in the tape tied to the Ars Goetia. Rebecca is instructed to say "Bye yell", which sounds like the first demon/king of hell in the Ars Goetia; "Bael". "Pie man" sounds like "Paimon", an extremely powerful king of hell. "Baa lamb" sounds like "Balam", another powerful king of hell. Considering the post-it note on Aunt Kate's board saying something about dyamokinesis, the ability to manipulate energy, Rebecca may have had some ability to summon a demon or powerful entity and Hameln was taking advantage of it. The "dynamic voice reaction technology" sounded like something made up on the spot and considering this was in the very early 2000's, I doubt they actually had the technology for something like that.
and if you look up balaam you realize hes WOOLY like his descriptions his likes and dislikes even his apperance as a upright male sheep with white wool and a friendly smile is a EXACT match.
In the second tape "in your neighborhood" the glitched frame, gives the hint that Wooly is more sus than he seems. You can see Amanda genuinely disgusted and shocked while Wooly is just unamused. I think he is there to manipulate on behalf of Hamelin, and Amanda could possibly be Rebecca trapped inside the game. (he gaslights her when she gets confused and is sad) Her angry outbursts can make more sense when attacking Wooly and/or desperate that the player get's the answer right or they might die. Also the "Amanda" that attacks the player could be as Sean implied that it is meant to look like Amanda in order to confuse the player. Love the lore of this game it is so INTRIGUING to just 🧐
Ok that last secret tape is hilarious. You got just about all of the secrets, but I believe you left out the “secret ending”, which is the last possible game ending you can achieve. It’s very similar to the “Escaped Ending” (sun icon) but there’s a slight change that is triggered because you obtained all of the secret tapes. A fifth ending icon will then appear on the TV, and I believe at that point the game is considered 100% completed for the time being. Love your videos as always and I’m so glad you went back to explore more of the lore!
Apparently when Amanda asks you what your favourite pie is and you type “mutton” wooly gasps in horror and Amanda says “that sounds delicious!” And then the tape is spat out
I legit couldn't breathe at 16:04 that "The Office" look at the camera as Sam talks about the world being magical absolutely kills me everytime. This is why I love Sean 😂
isn’t there also a secret where when she says “what’s you favorite pie” you can type kate and wooly gasps and her “that sounds delicious” sounds hella more sinister than the normal options??
Bye yell, pie man, baa lamb. Jack already noticed that one of them sounds like paimon and the other two are Belial (or maybe Baal/Bael they sound very similar) and Balam all three are demons from the ars goetia. love that little addition
God after hearing about the Pied Piper story being connected to the company from GTlive, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Hameln is totally luring the kids away like in that one tape with the kid named Lauren (?), it's hard to not think that when thinking about the Pied Piper story and the end of this newspaper at 12:03 "What inspired you to produce a show that is *focused on getting our kids.* " I know for sure that part wasn't a happy accident, it fits too well lol *Edit: lmao wrote the name wrong, it's Hameln not Hamlen

@@whixkeyofficial and looking back wooly saying peach pie is his FAVOURITE is really creepy. because the tape you get from that is off a kid getting kidnapped by amanda. so wooly finds the kids getting kidnapped his favourite of all the videos?
Rebecca is Amanda - Sam, her adopted father, who was clearly against the ritual like script she was reading was most likely sacrificed to the demon that Hamlin was trying to summon. They most likely wanted to make “Amanda the adventurer” an immersive and truly interactive show. A show kids could “truly participate in”. There are alot of holes, but to me this makes sense.
I think Hameln is a sort of cult. Hence, the demon. Also, Hameln ties closely into the Pied Piper with missing kids, especially since in the Pied Piper, the town was called Hamelin/Hamlin. I think the cult wanted kids to sacrifice, so they used the show. But I agree with everything you said.

Just thought that was interesting and a really cool Easter Egg
thats actually rlly cool
This theory makes the most sense, since the other theories don't explain why kids are going missing!
My mother is originally born in Hameln and I’m originally from Bonn, Germany.
In Hameln there is a clock in town that every hour it goes off and tells the story in a way, with moving clock parts.
The lore runs deep with this one

The idea of Wooly being the secret bad guy (or one of them anyway) is amusing considering the treatment he gets throughout the tapes. I think it's a testament to how much Hameln's involvement corrupted Sam's original idea.
i mean they *are* called hameln, pronounced hamelin- like the pied piper or hamelin, taking kids off to god knows where and never to be seen again

Perhaps the cameraman that heard Sam and the producer at Hameln arguing in that clip where Rebecca was reading demon names?

Anybody who knew him would have not believed that for a second.

"Hamelin"
"Hameln"
am I the only one that just made that connection?
The well-known legend of the ratcatcher, the Pied Piper of Hamelin, became associated in the 16th century with the alleged departure and fate of the children of Hameln, Germany, in 1284.
I feel like Hameln is a cult, who is just really good at pretending to not be one. And when the children are lured away, Hameln sacrifices them.
Basically, I think it's a Pied Piper Cult Story.
@Luna-0233 No, I just did too.
Also the demons were Balaam, Paimon, and Baal.
@@unpleasedwitch2235 go watch the secret tape of wooly, it makes me think that he’s blindly following. I don’t think he’s aware of most things tbh
That’s a ginormous brained take!
Because she didn't want to go to the meat shop and said, "why can't I stop it!?" like she's being controlled...
there’s also the part where she says she’s still out there (or something along those lines- it’s in the tape where she asks if she can tell you a secret). could be a reference to rebecca’s physical body being out there still (edit to add:) and possibly that it hasn’t been found
Baa yell = Baal, Pie man = Paimon, Baa lamb = Baalam
I agree and have thought of this before
This is a good theory.
i love how jack says "it's like a youtube thumbnail" when amanda points at wooly, then he uses it
I do really like the idea of Wooly being the "wolf in sheep's clothing" and would fit the hidden tape where Rebecca mentions a "man in the headphones" which could totally be Wooly (or whatever horrible creature he really is) talking to her. (And the wool over the eyes of the Amanda creature is the same texture as Wooly's body!)
Those are eyes of the creature not wool

Finally Amanda is fully aware of her real life counterpart, potentially even containing Rebecca’s spirit, as she both describes herself rotting, and her big secret being that she is out there it all becomes clear that Rebecca is dead and buried, and throughout it all Amanda’s goal in the whole situation is to fight against her very world to try to get the message out that Rebecca was murdered by her very creators.
bael, paimon, and balam are also kings in the ars goetia, she isn't just naming demons, she's naming very powerful demons
Damn, I didn't even think about that! I should've known with Paimon because he's the father of Stolas in Helluva Boss!
More likely Belial not Baal since Belial requires sacrifice and I assume the dad might have been used? He also needs gifts (and theres two episodes where Amanda is getting gifts for someone) But Baal is represented by a toad, man, and cat, and the cat is seen a bit too.
@@Glaycier I feel like if she was saying Belial, it would have been something like "Bell yell" instead of "bye yell"
@@alphonselover825 well that's not really accurate to the real mytholigy, as in the ars goetia stolas and paimon aren't related

I find it interesting that the secret tapes aren't tied to a specific secret each but always show up in the same colour order no mater in what order you do the secrets in.
it's nice to have the intended order every time!
I feel like it probably relates to the colors of the bots buttons. I'm sure someone must have tried that though.

So, from what i've got:
Sam isn't biologically Rebecca's dad. (from "coffee break with Sadie", green tape)
Then that "Hameln entertainment" took interest in it and decided to make something big - at least bigger than it was - out if it.
At first it was:
"cast
Rebecca Colton
as
Amanda the Adventurer"
but then:
"cast
Amanda
Rebecca Colton"
Also they cancelled all meetings with Rebecca claiming that she "needs time out of the spotlight" but at this point Rebecca herself was probably not alive/trapped on the recording/possesed (red tape).
It's probably easy to confirm - there are some birthday dates mentioned in the game, but i'm too lazy to do that at this point 🙃 Kate also personally knew Rebecca/Amanda through the library meetings and was actually her friend (green tape?)
By the way, it took me some time to realize how's protagonist connected to all of it 🤪Kate is their aunt.
She's actually reading the names of demons. "Pie man" is her trying to pronounce Paimon. The other words were also mispronunciations of demons.
Also there's a demon from the Ars Goëtia called Paimon, that was how I interpreted it, especially since it was said alongside Baal and Baalam.
Cute bee pfp
I think there's definitely something in that. Even if "Pie Man" is unrelated, "Hameln" has to be deliberate.
@@arspsychologia4401 I mean it could be hinting to both? Considering the children in this are disappearing just like how the Pied Piper goes.
But Baalam, "the man in the headphones" was tricked into possessing Rebecca, a child with no real autonomy, to do the bidding of Hameln, who only wanted a widely successful show due to greed (the same greed that the original villagers of Hamelin had when they wouldn't pay the Piper)
Hameln experimented on Rebecca, successfully implanting both her voice and Baalam's influence into their AI to make the character Amanda.
I guess the last thing is that although Baalam is trapped in the tapes as part of Amanda, he has influence over the body that Hameln attached him to, and that's why the corrupted body of Rebecca can find and kill you when you do enough wrong to suppress Rebecca and anger Amanda, it give Baalam more power when Rebecca is suppressed and he can command the body to find and kill you, thus finding the tapes (maybe to free himself?)
Idk prob a bunch of gibberish but it made me think a lot and I wanted to get the words out.
Bro I think this is like THE theory to go to, I think you’ve cracked it hahaha
What happened to HamelN afterwards?
I like to think Baalam is actually the lamb that goes baa, aka Wooly, and that Amanda torturing him is actually her fighting back like a badass, kicking the demon's ass at every turn.
"I'm not trapped in here with _you._ Can you tell me what's trapped?"
Answer: _You're trapped in here with me!_
"Good job!"
I like this theory!
For me the 6th hidden tape is actually important. In the video Wooly is sitting there searching for inspiration but Amanda is not there yet. For me Wooly represents Sam before he adopted Rebecca and when he disappeared he actually became Wooly.
a very interesting take
I too think wooly is Sam, like perhaps he has been imprisoned within the tapes by the three demons that were mentioned?
Hameln, Hamlin....
it all makes sense now oh my god..
14:09 this is exactly what i've been thinking. my theory is that rebecca's soul or a part of her brain was extracted from her through surgery (that's why we see her sign a contract along with the suited man and someone that looks like a doctor) and they somehow put and trapped her inside the virtual body through amanda so that Hameln can lure kids more effectively for their evil motives. amanda is seen breaking character, glitching and lashing out making it seem like she's the bugged one. ever since the pilot episode we've pitied woolly because he's always the victim of amanda's sinister behaviour. maybe Hameln knew a part of rebecca would still be tainted on amanda which would expose their company, and they took it into consideration. they added woolly as a red herring. woolly is there to keep rebecca from breaking out and also making it seem like amanda's the crazy one. and maybe woolly is on Hameln's side and amanda is only trying to let us know, not the other way
Same what i been thinking wooly is there to keep her in which is why he gets more anxious as the tapes keep going and even when she tried to expose her secret and wooly stopped her which is why she unalived him and then exposed her secret of her still being out there
W theory
The theory that wooly is actually the bad guy is really cool. There's the part, on the last tape i think, where she's trying to kill him and says "who are you going to help?" or sth like that and when Sean chose Wooly she seemed upset, like sad. And there's the whole thing with the cat too. Maybe she needs help and is trying to tell the player.
This is a cool theory. What if Wooly is helping to keep her trapped in the show? He comes off as nice and caring but really is trying to manipulate her to stay?
@@shina1399 Possibly
Balaam is a demon who has a particular obsession with cute things, especially children's storybooks, and is known for breaking the fourth wall. This demon takes the form of an upright humanoid sheep. It's possible that Balaam and Wooly are the same character.
The director makes her summon him.
@@JA-dd6bi isn’t there a theory on how wooly is actually sam? i don’t get how balam fits in with the sam theory though they both make sense
Then what is wooly warning the player/Reilly about
No, when you choose Wooly her tone is like "Oh.
It doesn't unlock anything but there is different dialog she says if you choose to help Amanda. 😁
@@LegendsLikeYou Ah, got it, thank you! I appreciate it!
Plus she doesn't kill you in that one
there is different dialogue if you help amanda, she says something like ‘we need to knock the patient unconscious so we can continue the operation!’ does so with wooly, and says something along the lines of ‘everything will be ok wooly! dont worry!’ and its a little unsettling and sad :(
There is the 'detective' ending you can get if you get all 5 tapes and say yes to Amanda's secret and make sure to turn your character around fast toward the table so you don't miss it happening.
What happens here?
I’m glad other people looked at the eye and were like “Nah those aren’t eyes it’s wool” because like I started to think that and had no idea if anyone thought of the whole “pulling wool over the eyes” kinda thing.
I'm glad someone mentioned it because Monster Amanda was the only thing that didn't make sense until I heard that explained. I definitely think Wooly is the secret bad guy.
5:15
Doll -“ I have a surprise for you but you’ll have to turn around”
Jack- “okay”
*glock sounds*
When Jack gave the doll the flower she started speaking ant thanking him, but my brain immediately recognised the voice and I am 99.9% sure that that voice actor is Poppy from poppy play time :0
Oh my gosh you are right it is !
OH MY GOD YOOOO-
Bael, Paimon, and Balam are all demon kings in the Ars Goetia, the Lesser Keys of Solomon.
Bael: attributed with teaching science and granting invisibility
Paimon: Paimon teaches all arts, philosophies, and sciences, and secret things; he can reveal all mysteries of the Earth, wind, and water, what the mind is, and where it is, and everything the conjurer wants to know.
I think Wooly is Sam. That her reading the demon names around him trapped him too.
Every time I hear the doll telling me to turn around I'm always expecting a jumpscare for no reason
When he turned around and it made the sound for the tape appearing I thought it was a gun and he was bout to be shot😂
I love that he picked up on the Paimon connection without realizing it lol
I was far from the first to realize they were referencing goetic demons, but I'm proud that I figured it out before seeing others talk about it.
yeah to anyone who remotely knows demon lore and has heard of some of their names know that if you repeat their names enough times it basically spawns them/makes them possess you. to me bye yell was the dead giveaway.
@@crisscrossam how many times?
cause i read alot of fiction that uses there names so kinda worryin hahaha.
Maybe Wooly was forced into tricking Amanda and doesn't want anyone else to fall into the same trap the creators pushed her into?
If Amanda is Rebecca trapped in the TV, then the reason she chose cookies is probably because that's what their "studio neighbor" always shared with them.
I never made that connection!!
21:18 All demon names
Bye-Yell = Bael
Pie-Man = Paimon
Baa-Lamb = Balam
Also, notable that most of the name corresponds to a tape that you play. Yell at the player or say bye to o friend. Bake a pie. The lamb goes baa. There is probably more integration there that I just haven't noticed yet too
I love how he goes from being so sad he killed blaboot the first run through to threatening him
It sure is the most family friendly game you've ever played, Sean.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with it!

@@deathakid u have loads of vids
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this, but Rebecca was totally killed by the studio and dismembered and/or experimented on.
This can be seen in how scared Amanda is when trying to get her to go to the butcher shop, and then further hinted at in the ending where the viewer is hanging from a meathook. At one point, when the tapes are starting to get corrupted and pieced together to give a clue, the subtitles specifically say "Amanda (chopped up):"
Another thing that jumped out at me was in the live action tape of Rebecca being taken from the document signing into a separate, guarded room.
With Sam gone, they didnt need to use the guise of training anymore and perhaps implemented Rebecca herself into the Amanda character
(And yes I've commented this on another video)
Dude that is an excellent theory
@Grillz Prod🏀🏈 Yup, he did mention those details in the vid too (the 3rd vid on this game)
Didn't she always want to go to the meat shop? (I mean in the first game.)
What I think is she just broke free for a bit from the monsters control and doesn't want to go there.
I love how he said at 13:47 that the image is a UA-cam thumbnail, then proceeds to use said image for a this video
18:27 "It's like Amanda's just taking on information from the outside world" I mentioned this last video how in the first live action tape, after the child was supposedly kidnapped, Amanda repeated the ice cream flavor the dad had said.
I really like watching unique horror games like this that has alot of secrets rather than a game that just jumpscares you every second.
i like how the interview tape can also be from the game creator’s pov, the whole “never expected it to blow up part” especially
I love how jack wanted to dive into the Lore of Amanda the adventure like most of the gamers did, it clears that this game has a very interesting plot into it
and there's probably more that we're going to discover about this game in the future
To be fair, old people think AI is going to destroy the world anyways so it could go hand in hand for some lol
I like to think the “secret 6th tape” is the developers’ way of trolling those searching for it.
Love the lore of this game it is so INTRIGUING to just 🧐
The fact that Sean recently finished Dredge and now came back for extra Amanda the Adventurer, just shows how truly awesome he is.
Yea But Wooly gasps with other options aswell, particularly ones to do with sheep or himself
Although blood and organs work aswell
@@whoneedsaname i did just see that somewhere else, that is interesting

Jack gets killed: *peacefully googling*
i love how lore goes completely over Sean’s head when it’s literally spelling itself out in-front of him
Bye yell, pie man, baa lamb. Jack already noticed that one of them sounds like paimon and the other two are Belial (or maybe Baal/Bael they sound very similar) and Balam all three are demons from the ars goetia. love that little addition

Other video: Wooly is actually evil!
Jack: I'm sure Wooly is actually an angel and not evil at all! c:
God after hearing about the Pied Piper story being connected to the company from GTlive, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Hameln is totally luring the kids away like in that one tape with the kid named Lauren (?), it's hard to not think that when thinking about the Pied Piper story and the end of this newspaper at 12:03 "What inspired you to produce a show that is *focused on getting our kids.* " I know for sure that part wasn't a happy accident, it fits too well lol
*Edit: lmao wrote the name wrong, it's Hameln not Hamlen
1:52 That was the silliest yet most effective jumpscare I had in 2023. Good one, brother lol
MatPat briefly brain storms this in his latest Amanda videos, but the newspaper clipping mentions strawberry banana pancakes and you're given a strawberry and banana during the pie making. I wanna see someone try those fruits in the oven
My thoughts exactly i also believe that she made apple pie on purpose cuz wooly said hes allergic to apple.
@@whixkeyofficial and looking back wooly saying peach pie is his FAVOURITE is really creepy.
because the tape you get from that is off a kid getting kidnapped by amanda.
so wooly finds the kids getting kidnapped his favourite of all the videos?
@@housewilma4904 also notice how when she gets close to remembering the monster comes for u. And when she kills wooly the monster never comes.
@@rascaltaglia omg let us know
@@rascaltaglia dang! Maybe in some other way, or maybe nothing at all and it was just some oddly specific joke.
I like how Jack got it quite quickly with the demons. Bye Yell = Bael/Belial, Pie Man = Paimon, Ba lamb = Balam.
