NJ leaders ask Philly mayor to crack down on 'boom car parties' along the Delaware River

- Commissioners in Burlington County, New Jersey, along with the sheriff and a state Senator, sent a letter to Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker asking for the city to crack down on "boom car parties."
"I do believe that the quality of life initiatives that Mayor Parker has initiated, this is a natural extension of those initiatives and our hope is that, with a fresh look at it, we can work together to really put a stamp on and put our foot down on these parties," said NJ State Senator Troy Singleton.
"It's really ruining some of the quality life that we all hold dear both for my residents in Burlington County, but also Camden County, Gloucester County as well, and the residents of Northeast Philadelphia."
Burlington County residents say the parties are held at locations along the Delaware River in Philadelphia. The loud music then travels across the water and can be heard in towns like Palmyra, Riverton, Cinnaminson and others.

"I want to play music". Okay. It doesn't have to be so loud that it disturbs people on the other side of a huge river. A nice bluetooth speaker does the same thing but that isn't really the point, is it? It has to be loud enough that it can be heard for half a mile or more, destroying the peace for people far removed. It's not about music or culture or ethnicity; it's about doing things that effect other people and not caring about that.

Years ago, in my young and dumb days, I'd have agreed with you.
However, I have seen one of these parties a couple times. Up near where I live, there's an abandoned cable striping plant in the middle of nowhere on almost never travelled road.
Literally miles from any town. They jam out there at volumes that made me wonder if it was a pro competition, and only a few, maybe half a dozen, would likely hear it from wherever they live. It certainly wouldn't be loud enough for anyone to whine about.
So, given the opportunity, they will indeed not bother others'.

They should really be taking it out of city limits, but I reckon they'd be looking at an hour+ drive to anywhere remote enough, which is a problem with huge city's. They get crowded and cultures clash.

What a lie, the police department clearly does not take loud music or quality of life seriously in Philadelphia. I can't even open my windows for fresh air because of the noise coming from the streets. I hope one day Philadelphia can provide a civilized way of living. A city out of control.

Who the heck does this and thinks it is okay. This may be perfectly normal in your countries of origin. Unless you are having a permit block party and even block parties have time limits. You cannot take over space playing extremely loud music anywhere you want to, to have boom parties. It's bad enough when cars pass by with extremely loud music.
The Mexicans in my neighborhood will start partying for the whole neighborhood to hear about 1PM on Saturday and go until 1 or 2AM. When the police get called out, they'll turn off their music and wait about ten minutes after the police leave before cranking it up again. Then they'll wake up around noon Sunday and fiesta for a couple more hours.
