My husband is going through this. He has had this for 3 yrs now and has been getting worse. His last lavage for his left lung was 27 liters. Right one was 19, but had to stop the procedure & will continue it in a few days.
No, it is not a treatment. An excessive pulmonary lavage which is a treatment to PAP, can actually worsen the condition of a patient seriously ill with COVID. You see in COVID there is not an increased production of Surfactant as in PAP, rather than a scarring fibrotic change of Lung paranchymal tissue after the acute phase is over. During the acute severe pulmonary Infection which leads to acute respiratory distress there is a serious inflammatory reaction of the Lung, which in most of the conditions doesn't lead to excessive endobronchial Secretion, unless there is a secondary bacterial infection. Best wishes.
I hope you get better and wish you all the best

Ok
I want to ask is lung lavage treatment safe for Covid affected patients?
Unfortunately, I do not have any experience with that. You will have to ask someone who has been treating Covid patients.
