I think the UK has some of the best countryside land and villages in the world. Also, pre WW1, in the 1930's it must have been such an idyllic, peaceful, simple and wonderful place to live. I was raised in London and spent most of my life there, before I went to live in spain in later life. I have since returned (sadly, not to London...not if you paid me,! due to it becoming an infested circus full of characters on street corners who lack the basics of respect and correct social interaction etc) but to live in the beautiful english countryside...a thing I never thought I would do decades before, due to being an original Londoner). But people and environments that 'once was' unfortunately disappear.
@jcs3330 Hello to you. I agree with your first paragraph, I've often thought that myself, especially the 1930's must have been wonderful / idyllic / simple / peaceful, place to live. Anyway, Peace to all.
And now the M5 motorway right in the middle of here, you often find selfish young festival trendsetting instagramners broken down on the hard shoulder just to left😂😂
And here we are in amazing 2022 😐
2024 and still getting worse!🙁
Wow ! this is a place I could move too right now, and stay for all eternity.
I wish I lived there.
It’s not as lovely as it used to be, but still rather nice compared to the more urban areas, I’d say.
I do and one of the videos was taken from my dads front step :)
He lives opposite the shirt factory (it no longer exists tho)

My home county. I live happily in Lancashire these days but I still have happy memories of Somerset.
If only merry old England could have stayed like this…these were truly the best of times for our country…😢
Very interesting.
James May has aged a bit.
