I've got my usual kit with me, the Minelab Manticore metal detector using the All Terrain Fast program with slightly modified settings to give me good depth, XP MI6 pinpointer and Minelab spade.

Great finds. I had a similar couple of days on my permission. 8 romans one day then 7 the next day. Tripping over them. Great feeling eh? Well done. Nice little fibula too!

Basically I can sort of talk from experience. 🤓. I don't find very much Roman material but when I do it is always in small areas which I put down to small habitation areas. 🙂.

WOW.... So glad you had such a fabulous day. I much enjoyed watching your video. I think your jewelry piece is a scarf slide, possibly Victorian era. Just a thought. Please let me know what it is when you find out for sure.
A scarf slide is something I'd not consider, as I've found something very similar on a dig near Droitwich. I thought it was an ornate ladies shoe buckle, with fancy indents for gems.

Oh he knows, when they had the rally years ago, finds from all ages were found including Saxon, Iron Age, Roman and medieval. Thankfully there’s still plenty to find in it!
