I made two of these in pastel colors (green, yellow, pink) for Easter. I found that 6 feet of each color was way more than I needed. For a 9" bracelet, 4.5 feet was needed of the outer colors (9 feet total), and 3 feet of the inner color. For an 8" bracelet, 4 feet was needed of the outer colors (8 feet total), and 3 feet of the inner color.
I learned that if you don't like look of the burns, you can take your fid and thread the cord on the underside about 3 stitches and cut it there. You won't see it since it will be on your wrist and it won't unravel. There is no need to melt the cord, the pressure from the stitch will hold it in place. I can send you some pictures if you want.
I use a wood burner, it cuts and melts at the same time and creates super clean ends. I'll personally never use a lighter again, just food for thought.
I made this bracelet in Red, White, and Blue with the white as the accent/center color and using a gold buckle. My Starting lengths were 60 " / 150 cm of Red. 60" / 150 cm of Blue. 24" / 61 cm of White. Final product is 7.5" / 20 cm wearable. 8" / 20.3 cm opened end to end with the buckles. After cutting and singing I had 25"/ 63.5 cm of Red and 27.5" / 70cm of Blue remaining. There wasn't really enough White remaining to measure, but probably about 2"/ 5cm remaining after cutting. I prefer a very tight weave, so your lengths may not be exactly the same as mine if you prefer a looser weave. Going through the center cords on this weave can cause a tightened bracelet, so I would recommend adding about 1.5" to your bracelet size. If you are making this for yourself, make sure you leave a little bit of comfort size for wearing, plus the extra 1.5". I love this pattern/weave. I have already made 2 different bracelets with different color combinations, and I am already thinking about how to modify it slightly to add a 4th color into the mix so that there are 2 accent colors instead of just one. Paracord On!
I do my weaves tight as well and tried these measurements. The white is way off. I needed roughly 36". I didn't actually measure it but I ran way short at 24" and had to splice in the remainder. Very time consuming and it made a slight imperfection in the bracelet but I managed without tearing it apart. you do NOT want this happening to you.
So this was my first paracord experience and I am happy with the result but you may want to add a note to the rookies like me to keep the slack out of the accent cord (your S&R) as you go. I ended up with a bit of slop on the inside of the bracelet I have to go back and work out. Went with Red, white, and blue with white being the accent.
You always do beautiful and wonderful. My name is Adel, from Iraq, Baghdad. He has a lot of the same work that you do. I admire all the works. Thank you. Adel Abbas 🤟👍👍
I love this design! It looks like it should be complicated but it's so simple! The most bang for your buck so to speak :p. I've only just started making paracord bracelets a few days ago and I love your videos. They are so clear and easy to follow. It's great how you pause between each step. I didn't even have to rewatch this video multiple times to do it. As an added bonus the third colour makes it easy to remember what side you need to be knotting on because it's always the side you've just passed the middle strand over to.
i made a watch strap out of mine, wearing it now, looks classic, used grey and black cord, then orange as my third colour, strap looks great with my kahuna watch
I made this one and loved it.. I also tried it a little different and it came out pretty cool. What I did was I put the search and rescue on the side of the cord that is going over the middle. Normally you would put it on the other side to start. What that did was insted of it fitting between the V shape of the middle color it was over the point of the V of the middle color making it look like a U shape instead. It does look pretty cool. Very simular but you can tell the difference if you view them side my side. Not sure if you ever tried that yet.. :)
I just found out about paracod , and Ive done 2 of your tutos , the corkscrew and this one , the corkscrew it took me all afternoon , this i did it a bit faster . Great tutorials .... !! and now I will start building some more ..
Thank you! Great video. Sorry to say I tried a two-strand approach before this one and it did not turn out well. Just did your design and it's fool-proof. Because the third strand takes up space, I'd urge people to add three inches to the starting wrist double-strand length (i.e., the core). Used your Mad Max closure, which works great for varying width. Because I learned at the end that I needed more starting length, this closure saved me and it still looks great.
Where do you get those velcro straps at?? I have been looking all over Amazon & eBay for that type.. I have watched almost all of your video's so far.. I started making those bracelets for my wife & myself and almost everyone we know that see's them wants one.. So since we are both retired & disabled we thought why not make them for extra money, since Social Security barely pays all the bills.. Any other tips you would have to give, we would appreciate.. Thank you very much for sharing, we do enjoy watching your video's..
I like your video you teach so we'll today I just learned how to make paracord bracelet and made four of them I didn't no it's so much fun to do thank you for teaching you do a good job
BoredParacord Your tool is a lacing needle. A fid is used to nondestructively open porous material. An awl is used to cut/puncture material. I've been a leather crafter since 1968. I fed my family doing it for years. Good videos. My comment is intended to help. All the best.
Enjoyed the video, thank you. I use your videos to refresh myself with the techniques when I’m starting my projects. The “WalkMS” project I just finished only used yellow & orange w/ a pendant at the center. Your channel has become a directory when i find new projects on Pinterest.
I know this is pretty old, but i saw one of these on instagram, but the "eyes" (White) were diffrent colors, the right and left had diffrent colors, how do i do that?
Why don,t you take the ends to be cut to the underside and burn off to create a neater finish ?.So saying, you do have some really good ideas and your videos are good instruction tools.
what if i wanted to do an Infantry mans cord. That is the blue cord that is worn on the shoulder of the dress uniform.I wanted to make something like that with 3 colors.Could you do a video on that?
Would this work in two colors? I wanted to do ur color scheme but i dont really like fusing the two together, so i was thinking just black on the outside and basic cobra part and then yellow for the inside part, would it still look good? Plz reply!
I followed you on this barely a week into paracording and made the coolest bracelet so far using Air Force Gold an Black as my primary colors and a (unknown) Camo secondary weave. Turned out bitchin' bro!! Great tutorial as usual....Thanks!
You could not cut it to the size and then just work with longer pieces until you have the right size, then cut it to length. That will leave no scraps and more paracord to work with another time
I'm having trouble fusing two colors together and getting the fuse to hold. Had this bracelet made and was about to tie it off when my fuse came undone and its too short now to go back and fix. I've tried using a lighter to do the welds but thats not working, maybe Super Glue now?
Great video, I made my first bracket from it and I think it is cool. One question. I measured the length of my bracket and it shorted quite a bit once I was done. How do you measure for the fit of the bracelet?
Usually rule of thumb with paracord is 1ft of cord per 1 inch of bracelet. I use a sewing measuring tape to measure wrist and then work off that and will go a little bigger if needed. 7ft total of the bonded cord is needed for a 7in bracelet.. Maybe even go with an extra inch of each color to be safe..
have you re-made this video yet? if not, you may want to look into it. try watching it again for yourself, BoredParacord, and see if you can do this or if you were as confused by the 5 minute point as i was. i'm not hating, i'm just saying this isn't a very good beginning to end instructional video. sure you can still get it if you watch it but if you're like me and stop a video a few times while watching to do what the instructor did, you'll be given wrong information and become frustrated. just a thought
I followed this design to the T and it doesn't work! No matter which direction I go in, how many times I watch it and rewind it, it just WONT work! So frustrating.....
in the old times girls used to put beads on a string and call it necklace, or bracelets. now guys do the same and they call it survival paracord bracelet (to sound more macho). same thing with girls dols and guys ,,action figure,, . trolling aside, cool vid. you got a like and a sub.
umm idk if this is legal, but I have been using these videos to make paracord bracelets and selling them for 6-12 bucks each so far I have made a good 20,000 or more and if I need to send u money for me using your videos I will

It is very nice to have a written supply list prior to starting the video. I like to gather my needed items prior to the video.

This dragon design is DYNOMITE! Try it in black, white and pink (teeth). Wow!
I made this bracelet in Red, White, and Blue with the white as the accent/center color and using a gold buckle. On the wider buckles I like to double wrap the clove hitch/ cow hitch. To me it just adds a more finished look.

I like it I'm going to do this one with black green and orange
Ive been looking for this pattern for 2 days. Thank you

love the weave, i don't like thick bracelets, so I would gut half the cord of each of the 3 colours
I use a wood-burner craft tool to melt my ends. Works beautifully.
Just made a few in Teal & Electroshock w/ the eyes made from Fireball. Awesome! Thanks.
I made this one and loved it.. I also tried it a little different and it came out pretty cool. What I did was I put the search and rescue on the side of the cord that is going over the middle. Would it be possible to list cord sizes, lengths, and other supplies you used and where they can be purchased by chance.
I just found out about paracod , and Ive done 2 of your tutos , the corkscrew and this one , the corkscrew it took me all afternoon , this i did it a bit faster . Great tutorials .... !! and now I will start building some more ..
This is one of my favorites to tie! It is a big seller for me!

Any chance that once you post the tutorial that you can put in your description the lengths you used?
Listen at 0:33 and 1:10, and he explains it very clearly.
It is very nice to have a written supply list prior to starting the video. I like to gather my needed items prior to the video.
Great tutorial. A very simple, but great looking bracelet. Thank you.
Hey man, I think you're my favorite paracordists. What fun! 😁
Great pattern! Easy and simple instructions....loved it and made a bracelet on the first try with no problems....AWESOME! Thanks again, buddy!

Love your channel, I've made many of your bracelets. The last few videos I've watched however are not in focus.
Just made one for my first paracord effort. Looks great, so simple to follow the tutorials. I'm hooked a.
I like at 12:34 he was just talking about the smoothing tool then he uses the scissors to smooth it
Is there a video of the bulkier bracelet you mentioned in this video also brilliant videos very easy to follow and excellent designs, thank you.
Great work Shawn. I really like this one. :). I added 3/4" for comfort to my normal wrist size. Turned out awesome.
Enjoyed the video, thank you. I use your videos to refresh myself with the techniques when I’m starting my projects. The “WalkMS” project I just finished only used yellow & orange w/ a pendant at the center. Your channel has become a directory when i find new projects on Pinterest.

Its a beautiful pattern,! Thank you!
very nice weave, great colour choice
Very nice. What size paracord did you use? 550?
Is it?
Awesome can a watch band be made with this technique ?
Instead of having the yellow middle piece put in there as you did, simply fusing it to itself with the use of a needle would work a lot better. :)
I just found paracord ing for a stress reliever, vids have years on them … are you still active .. I don’t do for profit … just for fun, ty
Why don,t you take the ends to be cut to the underside and burn off to create a neater finish ?.So saying, you do have some really good ideas and your videos are good instruction tools.
The torch lighter can be purchased at www.boredparacord.com
can this be done on a silicone bracelet
Love your videos, but this one was the first I couldn't make work. I do appreciate what you do- thank you!
Was that because he kept changing the instructions? That is why I fast forwarded to the end to see what it was going to look like.
That looks so dope, great work 🙏👍🙌
this vids a nice reminder how to make this one
what if i wanted to do an Infantry mans cord. That is the blue cord that is worn on the shoulder of the dress uniform.I wanted to make something like that with 3 colors.Could you do a video on that?

Turned out bitchin' bro!! Great tutorial as usual....Thanks!
Could you use a 5/8" buckle on this?
Like this guy so much
Couldn't you have made one before filming to work out how much cord is ACTUALLY needed? I had 3 feet of each left over!
You could not cut it to the size and then just work with longer pieces until you have the right size, then cut it to length. That will leave no scraps and more paracord to work with another time
Sorry could you rephrase that, it really wasnt clear
couldnt you have just watched the video first then make the braid?
Nice teaching nice colors saludos from colombia
I will have to order the blue
Nice work Steve!
Who is Steve?
BoredParacord
Shawn...lol... sorry
I have a question, is'nt this a fishtail with a solomon over it?
Doing you think you're going to do the stitched variation of the dragon that is being done in the Paracord on group?
What is the name of that tool that you use to flatten the melted cord??
Where did you get the velcro buckle?
I'm having trouble fusing two colors together and getting the fuse to hold. Had this bracelet made and was about to tie it off when my fuse came undone and its too short now to go back and fix. I've tried using a lighter to do the welds but thats not working, maybe Super Glue now?
How to Make the "Rock Climber" Paracord Survival Bracelet - BoredParacord
Great video, I made my first bracket from it and I think it is cool. One question. I measured the length of my bracket and it shorted quite a bit once I was done. How do you measure for the fit of the bracelet?
Usually rule of thumb with paracord is 1ft of cord per 1 inch of bracelet. I use a sewing measuring tape to measure wrist and then work off that and will go a little bigger if needed. 7ft total of the bonded cord is needed for a 7in bracelet.. Maybe even go with an extra inch of each color to be safe..
can you get that velcro buckle in 1inch width for belts?
New favourite
Why do you invert your hitch at the start?
I really wish you would decide whether to call it a Solomon or a Cobra weave.. Going back and forth will confuse people!!
have you re-made this video yet? if not, you may want to look into it. try watching it again for yourself, BoredParacord, and see if you can do this or if you were as confused by the 5 minute point as i was.
i'm not hating, i'm just saying this isn't a very good beginning to end instructional video. sure you can still get it if you watch it but if you're like me and stop a video a few times while watching to do what the instructor did, you'll be given wrong information and become frustrated.
just a thought
What color is that orange looking one
Search and rescue
thank you again for one more nice tutorial.
I followed this design to the T and it doesn't work! No matter which direction I go in, how many times I watch it and rewind it, it just WONT work! So frustrating.....
Personally I think the buckle spoils it for me, otherwise a great pattern
I am looking to making this into a belt. what would you recommend for a 34 inch belt? Thanks!
get around 350-400 inches of each that should be enough :)
This is cool. Thank you very much for the vid.
Where do you get your buckles from? I really like the Velcro clasp.
PlaidJaguar. The Velcro sucks!
I tried making This one but I did it backwards on accident and now it more like an solomon Snake weave.
I also did the same thing on purpose and I think it is pretty cool..
nice work buddy
Can it be done with a buckle
Me encantas tus trabajos eres el mejo!!!
my niece has a 7" wrist......how much cord do i need for this one ??????
anyone ???
WOW!!! Maaad!
how would you do a four color bracelet,
Thank you!
Super schön, auch als Hundehalsband
@BoredParacord please remake this video with clearer instructions.
its not that complicated. if that confused you then you might want to try sticking with basic solomon for a while
Thanks

Thanks for sharing very beatiful
My Facebook page has pics of what I did

This is probably my favorite design! I used the three colors of my flag and it looks really cool! Thanks!
Muito bem explicado. Ficou linda🤩🤩🤩🤩
Awesome
Like them there so good
Try zooming in you're too far away
sweet
Cool
umm idk if this is legal, but I have been using these videos to make paracord bracelets and selling them for 6-12 bucks each so far I have made a good 20,000 or more and if I need to send u money for me using your videos I will
don't worry about it man. UA-cam is a teaching tool.
Nice
i like these video, and i love bracelet
The false starts and mind-changes need editing out.
Anyone know a good lawyer? I burned my fingers when I lit my paracord on fire. There was no warning about that on the packaging!!!! LOL
That said, Shawn, great video. And don't worry, you will not be hearing from my attorney.
WaaaaWaaaa. Jeff Fox is a crybaby. Lol 👶
I had the cord melt off and fall on my finger nail. Thought I was going to lose my arm.
@@greglacy5781 try hot glue on a finger nail!
Omg. It's INESCAPABLE... pain and discomfort.
Maybe you'll get necrotizing fasciitis.
Catch ya later.
