I know this is an old upload - but God, I LOVED this show!!! I cried when it got canceled. To me, even now, in a post Game of Thrones world, LotS for me is *still the best high fantasy show ever created*. This MUST come back to Netflix or something with all the original actors. Everything about this show was top notch given its lower budget. The writing was brilliant, the actors phenomenal, the costumes, set designs, SFX, and the musical score were all awesome and there's no reason why a show like this couldn't make it in today's online streaming world of The Witcher, Wheel of Time, and Shadow and Bone fantasy series just to name a few. If Merlin hadn't been airing more broadly at the same time this show was on, it might have made an impact and we could've gotten more than 2 seasons. but these 2 seasons were just *the best*. Special mention: as a life-long fantasy genre fan, it's so very appreciated the character portrayal of antagonist Darken Rahl. The actor was BRILLIANT and I loved him, and the writing was so intelligent, made HIM intelligent, which made him very dangerous. DR has been the only "villain" in any story written so smartly - that you wonder how the protagonist will outwit him. This is a true mark of great storytelling writing - not lazy - which I can't stand.
@Chisom Okeke LotS was made by ABC as a syndicated series, distributed to the independent stations and cable channels who purchased the package. Two things happened. One, Disney bought ABC; two, Tribune Entertainment (whose cable channel had about one fifth of U.S. viewership for LotS) filed for bankruptcy and so couldn't pay for a third season. That left a big hole in financing. Disney could have easily filled the gap or purchased the series, but its executives cared nothing about an orphaned legacy show from ABC. There was a half-hearted effort to sell LotS to SyFy, but it wasn't really serious on either side. While it was true that LotS was rather pricy to produce, it had decent ratings that rose in season two. Whatever NuDisney touches sooner or later winds up dead. At least the bad news for LotS came with about a third of a season left, so that the producers could hastily wrap most of the story up.
@Chisom Okeke I'm not sure what you mean. Legend of the Seeker had enough publicity and good enough ratings in season one to justify a second season, and ratings rose over the course of season two.
I watch this every after 3 years I make it a habit, I was in that time when people were voting for Season 3 and we surpassed the number of votes needed to continue Season 3, sadly they didn't make it..... Hopefully they make a season 2 with Craig and Bridget. I shall still read the book.
Started reading the books after seeing the show. Up to book 11 now. And even though the plots vary greatly from the, shall we say 'sanitized' TV version, seeing the show first defined these characters in my head and even now, Richard in the books IS Craig Horner in my mind. Kahlan IS Bridget Regan. Zedd IS Bruce Spence. It's like the show's still going--also triple-R rated.
Hahaha, totally. With stuff as r rated as Game Of Thrones on tv now, I wish they’d recreate this show, but stick closer to the books this time. The books are so interesting and different from this. Both are good. I mean, had the tv show been completely accurate to the books, I’d not have been allowed to watch it as young as I was lol.
Oh man, those two must have a little crush on each other! 11:50 is so funny and so cute! Richard keeps touching and poking and looking at Kahlan while she got into that nervous nonsense talking about her daggers!
How would people think he's the perfect Richard if you've read the books at all. He's strong as shit and bigger then most men I just don't think the creators of the show read the books enough
Some have said that Leo looked more like the Richard Cypher of book canon. Ken Biller and co. did read the books, and took a lot of the lore from them into the series, but LotS could never be anything like faithful to Wizard's First Rule, Stone of Tears, etc. and expect it to play on PG-13 cable channels and broadcast stations. How could they try to produce a season of something like Pillars of Creation? They made a vast improvement of Jennsen for LotS.

Avrei voluto vedere la terza stagione, e anche se alle volte la trasposizione tv è del tutto diversa dal libro... che ben venga. Ho letto il romanzo, è piacevole, ma la serie lo è ancora di più nonostante dei cambiamenti che mi sembrano anche migliori rispetto al racconto di Terry Goodkind al quale, tuttavia, mi inchino per aver dato vita ad una storia a metà strada tra Genesi, Fantasy e Avventura, e con dei personaggi con dei poteri assurdi!
I loved the flaws the actors and writers put with these characters because they really were like that in the book. Everytime The Seeker used his power from the sword's anger, he ran the risk of becoming a full on Berserker with nothing but anger driving his every move. He slipped into that twice in the book, and it took alot to bring him out of that state! It was just as dangerous for him to use the sword and his righteous anger, as it was for someone to be confessed by the mother confessor. Permanent affects were a brilliant addition to the story because it put a huge limitation on these characters so none of them would be mary sues!
I read the books they were fantastic! The magick in this world was based off of a tear that was formed when someone cheated death. This tear leaked magic energy into the world, and so long as the rift was open and the person who made the rift, the badguy, was alive, magic would persist! It was a fascinating story because the magic of this world was based on emotions. Certain emotions when focused extremely so, would cause various effects in the world of the Seeker. Such as the extreme love projected by the mother confessor!

I didn't find Craig Parker good looking at all. One character I liked was the Captain in S1 E 17 Deception, played by Don Hany.
