    Oh my gosh I absolutely love love it. I am actually looking to make one for my son. Gathering bits and bobs together. I love the idea of being able to take it pretty much anywhere other than mounting to the wall. Don't think mine will be as nice with LED lights and all. Thanks for sharing

      Thank you, Heidi. It's definitely nice that it's portable instead of being mounted or leaned against a wall. I'm sure your son will love whatever you come up with to put on the board. Good luck with your project! -- Mike

    Looks great. I'd put a couple of pieces of dowel either side of where the cogs meet to stop them grinding their fingers between the cogs

    Fantastic - if you build things like this do watch the gears for little fingers and the door stop - if they trip they could easily get it straight into the eye though I note you have mounted it quite low possibly for that reason. Great work and for influencing the engineers of the future!

    Well done and at last those words at the end ha ha.

    I LOVE this idea. I have a daughter that is very sensory oriented. This would a great way to capture her attention. Are you creating these for other individuals as well? I would love to replicate the idea, but I'm afraid I don't have the time.

    nice sir. sorry for a noob question. but what resistor did u use for the LED light?

    • @Woodumakeit
      @Woodumakeit  7 років тому

      It's just the LED strip connected directly to a 12V battery, so it does not require any resistors in the circuit.

    Does the shop(Home Depot, Lowe’s or Ace Hardware or Menard’s, etc) can make the right size wooden boards orrrr..???

    • @Woodumakeit
      @Woodumakeit  5 років тому

      I know that those stores will cut wood for you, but I've always thought that was just to get the pieces into manageable and transportable sizes. I'm not sure whether or not they would make all of the cuts needed to get everything to the exact size you need, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

  • @OldePhart
    @OldePhart Рік тому

    I gotta ask, any issue with fingers in the gears? and did this keep his attention for as long as you hoped? I want to do this for my grandson but if he doesn't use it. . .

    • @Woodumakeit
      @Woodumakeit  Рік тому

      He played with it for quite a bit for a couple of years. He definitely loved the LED lights. No issue with his fingers in the gears as far as I know, but if he did, that's just part of learning.
