It even has "Code Lyoko" in the lyrics, it's like it was made for it, what a coincidence! I still think it's cool that they made their own band(subsonics/subdigitals) to do all the music both in and outside of the show. The chorus also is only part of the song, if you listened to all of "A, world without danger", there are some more serious lines in it.
i wish there was more comic relief, the characters are so serious all the time it's kinda uncomfortable. I just feel like the cast is super disconnected from how they are supposed to be based on the original. But i'll keep watching because its code lyoko
I feel like those who wrote evolution did a pretty good job of keeping Yumi and Ulrich's characters the same. Aelita, Jeremy, and especially Odd are far too edgy now. What happened to the unity in their team? Remember the end of season 2? They really unite over XANA's getting onto the web. They know it's gonna be hard as balls but they all believe they can win in the end. I miss that optimism here. Everyone has taken on teen angst.

I pretty much agree with that. They did a mostly good job with Yumi and Ulrich and keeping them the same and Jeremy’s not too bad either, but Aelita was completely butchered here and while I think Odd is alright personality wise, the kid they got to play him looks nothing like the Odd from the cartoon series.
I know it's not this kind of show but, it feels believable that time after the traumatic experience that was the first four seasons, they'd have changes in personality and how they'd connect with others and with each other. Odd's joke about needing a lawyer when the 6th grader specter grabbed the girls shows they're at least early high school or equivalent in French schools.
I find the idea of giving the ability to deactivate Towers to the other LyokoWarriors to be interesting. I know it kind of gets rid of the urgency of only needing Aelita to deactivate the Towers and it would make themselves more bigger targets. But I still like the idea of letting the others also deactivating Towers.

And, side note, the whole “will yourself inside” the tower stuff is really confusing. In the original series, either the tower recognized you or not depending on if you’re one of XANAs monsters.
Actually it makes sense because the Way Tower is different from an actual activated tower. Aelita would always close her eyes calmly as if she was concentrating when entering a tower. Way tower can be entered by anyone because they are basically just portals to the other sectors. Aelita was the only one who could enter activated towers because she possessed the keys to Lyoko.
Insomni-act in season 4 episode 76 Yumi was shot by a Krab which launched her into an activated tower. Not to mention how William was able to enter towers on replikas to deactivate the effects of the Skid’s teleportation.

Insomni-act In episode 76 “The Lake” Yumi has to fight a group of Krabs alone. She throws her fan at the last Krab targeting her and misses, the Krab then fires at her and she is knocked back into the actived tower. Her fan then comes back, destroying the Krab and flying into the tower. Yumi catches her fan and is surprise attacked by William who is also inside, are you sure that was the right episode?

Code Lyoko used to be fought like chess, with Aelita as the king. But now that everyone else can deactivate towers, and Aelita has been able to fight ever since Season 3, it's become a game of checkers.
Only Aelita and Xana William was ever shown to deactivate a active tower in the original series. Jeremy did say Xana had implant his source code to the Lyoko Warriors, so that might be why she can do it now.

if i had to write a story plot point around it, id say the activated tower would only let in those with the relevant codes to enter, and you needed to allow the tower to scan you to make sure you have authority to access the terminal to shut it down. it had no problems with Aelita because they instantly recognized her signature, but the others were new so it had to be sure, but that's all conjecture
Homie Finland there are some details that this show have forgotten like the tarantula shooting from their arms. One that bothered me was that most of the characters forgotten that they've been into Towers before despite going into them couple times before

Wait. Wait wait wait. Sense when does touching a polymorphic Spector make them blurry and feel strange. In the og code lyoko, the spectors were the same as ppl possessed by XANA save for the fact that they can change form at will and can be devirtualized They were basically super humans
"You're virtual on Lyoko. You shouldn't feel sick." And yet they do feel short of breath. Thankfully, that seems to have stopped in Evolution (until 18:50), but in the cartoon (which still applies to Lyoko), they were panting for breath all the time, not because the actors slipped up, but because their scripts told them to while they were standing still in a recording both.
It's also inconsistent because Odd was often nauseous when they were on the transporter to Sector 5, but I guess they changed the rule because it didn't fit the direction they wanted to go with for this season, but in the past it was implied they could feel sick, but not pain except when XANA specifically tampered with something.

There was nothing in the original series that hinted at any romantic elements between them. As far as Jeremie and Yumi’s dynamic went they were basically the adults in the group since they were on equal grounds in terms of maturity and intelligence. Yumi was basically a surrogate older sister to Jeremie until Aelita was brought to Earth 24/7 (and as the writers explored their dynamic as the only girls in the group). If you’re referring to what happened in *Image Problem* : a) the Yumi that flirted with Jeremie was a clone sent by XANA to sabotage the scanners, and b) Yumi’s flirting at the end of the episode was her just screwing with Jeremie’s claim that he knew the clone wasn’t the real Yumi because she started flirting with him
I don't understand why they didn't call William to help?? Especially since the previous episode they allowed him to rejoin the team. Maybe this episode was filmed before the last one and it was originally supposed to be aired before

Because it doesn’t have enough power this time around. It only worked the first time because Hopper transferred his energy via being shot by the Mantas. Also with XANA’s source code infecting the team it can always return through them

Unless I missed something. Why does Odd have trouble entering the tower when almost the first thing he did in episode 1 of the original, he did that very thing. WITHOUT THAT STUPID MANTRA TO ENTER. The pacing of this episode is also throwing me off. Just, when did Code Lyoko start with the the enemy already there? The closest to this is when they started in the middle of shutting down a tower, leaving the whole episode for the one and only plot.

Thankfully, that seems to have stopped in Evolution (until 18:50), but in the cartoon (which still applies to Lyoko), they were panting for breath all the time, not because the actors slipped up, but because their scripts told them to while they were standing still in a recording both.
It's also inconsistent because Odd was often nauseous when they were on the transporter to Sector 5, but I guess they changed the rule because it didn't fit the direction they wanted to go with for this season, but in the past it was implied they could feel sick, but not pain except when XANA specifically tampered with something.

There was nothing in the original series that hinted at any romantic elements between them. As far as Jeremie and Yumi’s dynamic went they were basically the adults in the group since they were on equal grounds in terms of maturity and intelligence. Yumi was basically a surrogate older sister to Jeremie until Aelita was brought to Earth 24/7 (and as the writers explored their dynamic as the only girls in the group). If you’re referring to what happened in *Image Problem* : a) the Yumi that flirted with Jeremie was a clone sent by XANA to sabotage the scanners, and b) Yumi’s flirting at the end of the episode was her just screwing with Jeremie’s claim that he knew the clone wasn’t the real Yumi because she started flirting with him

Why does Odd have trouble entering the tower when almost the first thing he did in episode 1 of the original, he did that very thing. WITHOUT THAT STUPID MANTRA TO ENTER.
The pacing of this episode is also throwing me off. Just, when did Code Lyoko start with the the enemy already there? The closest to this is when they started in the middle of shutting down a tower, leaving the whole episode for the one and only plot.
