      In the eighties the word AIDS was on everybodies lips and scared the living daylights out of them, nowadays WITH AIDS being shoved onto the back burner we have of course a new abbreviation that instills the same dread and feelings of helplessness, it is of course BRS, you have all been warned.

    The man in question, Jonathan Paul Burrows, was banned for life by the FCA from working in senior roles in finance. He's only the second person ever to have been banned by them for something outside of work.

    The big mistake this Rodger the Dodger fellow made was trying to use an oyster instead of money. I mean, even if you take the shell off it's not gonna work. What I want to know is when he got caught was there an R in the month ?

      His mother, Pearl, tried the same trick. Expensive though, £ 9'000 per year to travel around 50km. You could buy a train for that.

      Works out at about £18 per journey, (assuming he was commuting to and from work) not unreasonable from an outer suburb to central London..
      Since he was never planning to pay - it's unlikely he ever bothered to buy a season pass.

    I've never understood why the barriers are not made floor to ceiling so that no one can pass through unless they have paid. You see people jumping over barriers to avoid paying. A few quid spent on better barriers would seem a good investment

    £9000 per year?

    • @gwishart
      @gwishart 4 роки тому +2

      Assuming he commuted to and from work every weekday for a year (less annual leave) then he'd be spending £18.75 per journey.
      Since he never had any intention of paying - he presumably didn't bother buying a season ticket or worrying about getting the cheapest ticket type.
