Flashbacks to pre-teen me being unable to sleep after watching "Arachnophobia"... There was a similarly sized one chilling out on the wall above a urinal I looked up from last year... First and only time I've seen one, but the Nephilas and Argiopes are everywhere.
I don't think I ever saw that movie. I generally avoided scary animal movies growing up. They are all too over the top lol. I hope the spider didn't drop down onto you while you were using the bathroom lol.
They are quite common in some parts of Taiwan. But they usually live under the leaves/logs or even in the soil. They are not native to Taiwan. They have managed to spread all over the world.
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. I am thinking about what film projects to undertake this year. Any suggestions? I use a Sony RX100 vii. But I would love to get a camera with a macro lens for some cool close-ups on small things.
Haha, yeah, made for a nice optimistic ending lol. The spider would soon have found something else to eat... possibly another blind snake haha. That ditch was full of them. Though do wonder if it was my sticking around that contributed to its escape.
haha, yeah saw something about that the other day. Maybe someone posted it somewhere? But yes, the mini version of that. I'm still waiting to see a fishing spider with a snake. They could handle a baby snake or a small reed snake I reckon. They're beasts.
