Since it wasn't explained in the video, the reason why you always see citrus fruits (called yuzu) floating in the bath, is due to a belief in Japan that the oils and vitamin C in yuzu is good for your skin and circulation. So it's a tradition to throw a few yuzu in when you're soaking in an open-air bath like these capybara are doing!
Japanese ppl don't usually put yuzu in the bath, though no one will be against it doing it on an ordinary day (since it has a wonderful smell) it's more of a special thing on the day of winter solstice. The tradition originated cuz the smell of Yuzu was believed to keep away demons. For the capybara bath, they're probably doing it since it adds some color and makes it even more relaxing to look at.
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know you used an interview soundbite twice since I don't know if it was intentional. The first time at 2:27 and the second time at 3:11
I will post here some flavor text from an mtg card called "Basking Capybara": "Even our most learned philosophers can only hope to approach the inner serenity of the humble capybara"
As someone from South America I can agree they're adorable and having them around lakes over here is super fun. The sad part is that here in the south of the americas there's a risk they have a flea with them that could kill you if infected. So no petting Capys when you're visiting over here, zoos outside south america should be fine though
Spotted one of these for the first time ever while in a remote outdoor setting and it was the ONLY reason I felt the area I was in was safe enough from other wildlife predators! #TeamCapybara ⭐️
Ah, my spirit animals 😂. One of the world's most amazing creatures. The personification of being perfectly friend-shaped. I can not get over these guys 🤣🤣😭😭😭💀 My people 👐 😂
Never seen a capybara in the zoo! More used to seeing the wandering around the city, or by the beach. Either in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and in many Brazilian cities! 😅
I feel like this is the animal God made to remind us to rest. No matter what's going on in our lives, we need time to recouperate. "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made." Genesis 2:2
Still not tired of capybara content in 2024.
same (you probably can’t tell)
The true UA-cam meta
The capybaras are still pullin up today
Capybara and red pandas are straight clickbait for me.
@@beans00001nah man. Couldn’t tell at all
They are not animals, they are vibes, moods, and lifestyle, they are physical manifestations of relaxation .....
Yup, they are the embodiment of pure chill
True! Chill vibes always 🧘
It's amazing how peaceful they act when you consider how many predators they have to face in the wild.
They been seen chilling next to gators, though
@@halincadenza7165 the gators either ate already or are not hungry. Jaguars and anacondas are a different story
If Capybara was a person, he would probably still be chill when there is a fire or earthquake incoming.
@@krungkronch1947they are bad parents. They don’t watch their young 😅😅😅😅😅
Could it because they might have a bite that can tear of a finger?

Interesting yuzu fact :)

Oh really? Oh gotta try it soon.
GBS can dedicate their entire life to Japan and still won't run out of fascinating contents
We love this comment 😂 Thank you! 🫶❤️
@@GreatBigStoryYOOO YOU GUYS STILL HAVE THE SAME VOICE OVER LADY AS 5 YeEARS AGO (I think?) WHEN I USED TO WATCH YOUR VIDEOS BACK THEN

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IT'S THEM
i am a simple man. i see professionally shot capybara content, i hit like.
Those Capybara are the luckiest animals in the zoo. I envy them.
Utamaru definitely looks like that calm, collected dad who has a solution to all your teenage problems. Lovely creatures!
Beryl is back on Great Big Story? I recognized her voice right away! Capybaras are so cute!
i love capybaras! i aspire to reach that level of chill and relaxation
Pfp checks out
Masbro really loves the hot spring and the people. Really cute
You have no idea how happy you just made me. Thank you Great Big Story for the great content! ❤
Me every time I see Capybara related videos: "OK I pull up"
Hop out at the after party
I wish I could have this level of chill 😅
I absolutely adore these creatures and would love to see them in the parks around where I live
I wish I can be like a capybara. Relaxed almost all the time :3
Capybara enjoying onsen. 🤣Now I have seen it all.
Its relaxing, calming and peaceful to watch Capybaras.
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know you used an interview soundbite twice since I don't know if it was intentional. The first time at 2:27 and the second time at 3:11
I'm about to backpacking around Japan early January next year and this place will be on my travel bucket list
This is the cutest damn thing I've seen in a while. Fantastic stuff.
I will post here some flavor text from an mtg card called "Basking Capybara":
"Even our most learned philosophers can only hope to approach the inner serenity of the humble capybara"
Capybaras: "We put our bottoms in this warm water. Now, it is ours." 😂
In fact, capybaras live in people's hearts.
Close your eyes and imagine an elegant capybara bathing in a hot spring.
In Japan, even capybaras start taking hot baths 😂
i connected with beniten on spiritual level, chilling in its own space
Every day, I strive to achieve the level of relaxation a capybara has in a hot spring.
This is the same park they used in the anime: Yuru Camp (Laid Back Camp). Ever since I saw that episode I always wanted to visit this park.
Fellow Shimarin fans also here 😂
I think its just a universal mammal (and probably beyond) thing of "mmm hot water"
Capybara are one of my favorite animals. They're just so chill and relaxed.
Ohh to be a cappybara in a hot, relaxing bath in Japan 🥰
Oh I was lost in their warmth too, it is a beautiful addiction watching them🤗🥰
they do be chillin' 😊

Capybaras are the physical embodiment of the phrase “this is fine”
So you're telling me this giant rat, wants to sit in the hot bath for hours on end, just to enjoy some relaxation time...
He's just like me fr fr

Capybara are the most chilliest animals ever
Imagine how many problems can be solved just by bringing a few capybaras around.

Capybara are my goal in life: chill with everyone, can actually sit and vibe in peace, can take over any lawn or grassy area I want.
a bucket list item 🫶
As a capybara I approve this
Awesome content as always! Thank you!
I wish I was a capybara. Not worrying about taxes, pension or any human things.
Just relaxing, enjoying reality and being alive
That man has the best most fulfilling job in the world!!!😊😊😄
There's something relaxing about professionally shot Capybaras taking a hot bath
1:34 dude's saying he likes to run, but the subtitles says he "loves sleeping" lol
Ngl I can agree with these rodents in that I love a hot bath.
BERYL!!! YAY, you are back here!!
I love capybaras. The biggest rodent in the world is the cutest rodent of all.
OMG, if they had a hot spring where you can go in with the Capybaras, that would be an enormous hit
It might probably exist.
Beryl you’re not fooling no one. It’s good to hear your voice.
"My morning routine involves observing the capybaras"
Me too bro!😅
So they are native to South America and these are in Japan. What a trip for these capybaras 😅
yeah, this is quite the great big story
I want to see and touch one in future, what a fabulous animal, Capybara.
I am delighted to learn that capybaras have had hot tubs since before I was born 😊
Finally, the best animal gets its own video!
See, guys? Masbro becoming UA-cam's meta!
oh, to be a capybara in japan
When they pull up at the after party:

I want to be as chill and as unbothered as capybara
I somehow like this animals. 🍊🍊🍊🥱🫢🤭😊
Great Big Story is back? Since when? Why am I only aware of it now? 😮😮
Ok they pull up
They are darling- like giant gerbils!!
Thanks from coming back GBS!
Anyone who wanna visit there, I'd recommend taking public bath in Shizuoka as well. Shizuoka is at the foot of Mt Fuji, which is still alive.
if they were to stream this for 10 hours a day on twitch I bet they would made a lot of money I'd be watching it here and there for sure
I wonder if the hot spring has a livestream? I'm in the USA, and I wouldn't mind seeing Japan's capybaras soaking 😁
I LOVE CAPYS
Hearing Beryls voice, I was concerned we were going to watch a capy recipe video.
I wouldn't hurt one of these things even if I was stranded and starving in the Amazon
I'm talking about Japanese guys
