What you said about having the right paper to get in is very true. I am a Norwegian guy who has family in chile ( my fathers half) and we were stuck in São Paulo in Brasil. We barely got in and I even have family there and a passport that is one of the world best for traveling, so do your research of what papers you need.
I’m shocked you got in! I had a family member calling for me at the airport and they still sent me back to the states over the mobility pass. I have a separate video on this would highly appreciate you share it to anyone you know who may visit, thank you again for sharing your experience 🙏🏽
@@G_Amedee yes, i had family in chile Who was driving all around Santiago 9 hours to speak to differanse people and the goverment to get us in. We wouldn’t get sent back to Norway tho, we could stay in Brasil, but that wasn’t the plan, so we were lucky
I'm very interested in Chile. I'm looking for lower cost retirement options outside of USA with a climate similar to California. I looked around at Vina del Mar and Mirasol while playing with Google Earth. Those places look super cool.
Chile is a great country. I just visited from California and actually noticed many similarities with the Western US in terms of landscapes, friendly vibe, decent economy, and modern infrastructure (from a US perspective) it seemed prices for goods, food, and services are not as expensive as California but more in line with non-coastal US areas which was somewhat higher than what I would have expected.
Wow I would have never guessed that and now I’m seeing all these articles and studies showing a long history of the migration. Thank you for the insight this really helps expand my knowledge for the benefit of my channel. Hope to see you comment again in the future!
Hello I’m going there in may I just wanted to know where do you go to get the mobility and affidavit and which travel insurance is best to get? Hope you can help thank you!
Mobility & Affidavit (C19) are on same site, just updated on the description. I use American Express Travel Insurance so you can itemize the only perks you need for the most frugal quote.
How is Chile different from Ecuador?. I’m thinking about retiring somewhere in South America. Is Santiago a better place to live than Cuenca, Ecuador?.
How many days to get mobility pass because I applied on 6 April then I get email you and on my profile they approved my one vaccine and told me to update other documents I update other papers and note also but am waiting from 8 April there is no any update on my profile am thinking if I make again new profile and without mistake I update papers so I can get easily mobility pass or you suggest I have to wait with old profile
Hi All, Can anyone please help me know if i need to know spanish to get a job in las condes? Also what skill i must have to get a job there at the earliest?
At the moment I am not sure possibly right before their summer begins. I have more footage I will be posting soon of my trip so expect content later this week almost done editing.
I'm originally from there but haven't gone in over 10 yrs. The reason I was asking when you are going is because it is always better when you are with a few ppl exploring plus I speak the language so it's a Bonus lol. Add me on IG who knows maybe when you go I'll make another trip and we can chill.
Really sorry to hear that. Wish I would’ve mentioned because I was warned as well but used to verifying commute costs. Taxi scams are like one of the oldest type of scams in my hometown
Hey thanks for commenting! I found it to be very vibrant and what you would expect in a big city. The bar hopping scene seemed to be very popular, I show more about it in the Vlog I released two days ago 👌
I’m living in independencia xddd, maybe you were in a awful place, I live in a peaceful neighborhood and is pretty safe, you should go to the south, Santiago is awful and hot as fuck
Independencia definitely wasn't awful in any way, apologies if my tone gave that impression. I visited a friend that lives there a few times. I just made an observation that it was relatively less lit up at night than other areas I had been to. I have another video in the coast where I enjoyed my time there more than Santiago. I must say though, if you are traveling solo and want to find companions, passing by Santiago is a MUST. I saw mostly famiilies in Algarrobbo & Vina and some young adults in Valparaiso but nothing like the packed bars and streets of Bellavista in Santiago.
Yeah but traffic and parking is so time consuming that I felt it was less stressful to walk on most days depending what area I was staying. Thanks for your comment !
Las Condes is very beautiful and very safe ... i like the atmosphere there very modern, puente alto is very hit or miss theres alot of hoods there
Las Condes is the most beautiful neighborhood I've visited in South America so far. So glad my stay was mostly there.
That backpack tuck is a classic here in santiago 👌🏻
Hilarious because I only noticed everyone was doing it after I was taught by a friend. I felt so much cooler after learning 😎

Freezing!! Great time to wear some layers and pose some pictures 📸
@@G_Amedee no wayyyy. 😩 is the sun out at all? 👀
I'm going there soon....
Did you have any questions I did not answer? Be sure to be prepared for all the entry requirements, can't stress that enough.
I will be doing a semester abroad there soon! This is very helpful. If anyone has recommendations for cafes, restaurants, etc!
Hey Maya! Wishing you best of luck and stay tuned for my next video for a better guide of low budget things to do in Chile 🙌🏽

Great video 📹
Thank you!
I'd say that you came out as the victor instead of the victim in this situation because your experiences taught you valuable lessons.
Agreed! I learned so much during my trip, in many aspects of life. One of the reasons I love traveling alone
How difficult is it to relocate from US to Santiago?
Thank you very much for the video do you have any information about the resident cards in Chile
I don’t I’m sorry. Never considered staying 😅
my parents from chile but im in Sydney
What a coincidence! I was just in Dubai speaking to some natives of Sydney as well. Sounds like a place many enjoy!

they're different countries and cities with different cultures and customs, i'd check em both out before making any decision
check IDH from each country
Most of Chile has the four seasons which you really don't have in Ecuador.

Be careful with SCAMS - Airport to hotel about 11 miles was charged over 3K by Camilo Sebastian Mar 😢. I was sick and let my guard down.
