- World Communion SundayHoly Communion joins us in Christian unity. This sacrament invites us to focus on the holiness of communion with God and one another. On World Communion Sunday - UnitedMethodists, in conjunction with other denominations and believers worldwide, participate in communion to recognize our unity in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Today, the congregation gathers together to partake in a sacred time of worship and prayer, humbly offering their gratitude to the Almighty. As they lift their voices in reverent praise, they are guided by the esteemed leadership of Rev. David Brown, who will share an impactful message centered on the theme of Community of Promise
Galatians 3:26-29 26 for in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. 27 As many of you as were baptized intoChrist have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is no longer Jew or Greek; there is no longer slave or free; there is no longer male and female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to the promise.
The service will be accentuated by the beautiful, uplifting sounds of music, as the congregation is led in song by the talented Stacy Haney on the organ and piano. Adding to the musical celebration, Armstrong Chancel Choir directed by Ben Basone, who will grace the sanctuary with their soulful tones. Together, we will lift our hearts in timeless hymns of worship, including the beloved United Methodist hymns How Majestic Is Your Name, Make Us One, Bind Us Together. Amidst this sacred symphony, the children of the congregation will also have their moment to shine, as the Children's Sunday School Program presents a special Children's Moment exploring the depths of faith. Undergirding the service is the steadfast devotion of liturgist, Jane Florer, who will lead the congregation in the Call to Worship and guide them through the appointed scripture passages. This multi-faceted celebration of praise and reverence will undoubtedly fill the hearts of all in attendance with a profound sense of gratitude and connection to the divine.
The dedicated production team of Shanon Rice, Kashena Rhoill, and volunteer Armstrong Youth member Alex K. played a vital role in ensuring today's worship service was a seamless, engaging experience for all in attendance. Elevating the worship experience and ensuring the pastor's words, the choir's harmonies, and the community's prayers are shared far beyond the walls of the sanctuary.
