I love how something as simple as Batman punching the wall instead of branding Lex shows how his character has developed over the movie. At the beginning, he would have no problem branding Lex like he did with the sex trafficker, but after Superman’s sacrifice inspired him to become a hero once again, he chose not to resort to such brutal methods because that’s not who Batman is. Great movie

You & many others say that, but it almost feels like Batfleck tried too hard to be horrifying. Too much of a showoff with the branding. Too chatty with his threats & trying to sound tough like the schoolyard bully. Or maybe I'm just too bias to Kevin Conroy Batman who was scary because of his mystery. Who's normal voice & rare laughter was terrifying. Who didn't have to say more than "I'll be back" to make Luthor scared. Watch this & then search for "Batman interrogates Lex Luthor" when he's in his bed.
I won't be surprised if there's an actual scene for that conversation. Its how batman works, 80% of batman is how the criminals view him and so he obviously puts a good amount of work into details
@@payelghosh1479 nah I've heard a lot of great things about the Snyder cut, in his original plans he was going to explain in depth more the relationship between darkseid and Steppenwolf and how Steppenwolf was willing to overthrow Darkseid to rule apokolipse, Darkseid should have been teased in the original plans which didn't happened when in Wheadon's cut, also Steppenwolf is said to have a different more scarier look, design and character than Wheadon's, man Wheadon completely ruined the movie, it's too early to judge on the Snyder cut yet.

The main reason I like Ben Affleck Batman more than bale’s is that Affleck’s Batman is brutal and much more intimidating. He just kills terrorists and other groups willing to kill people. He is not afraid to kill people if needed. Bale’s Batman is kind of too righteous and doesn't kill people who are willing to do harm to the people he loves.

This Batman is much more reckless, brutal and overall intimidating for that matter. Both work fantastically in their own ways. I loved Nolan's idea for Batman, but I also love Affleck's Batman. Having just rewatched the Theatrical Cut of BvS for the first time since 2016, it's insane just how much important stuff is removed. That "Who would believe me, I'm insane" line is perfect at showing just how easily Luthor can manipulate everyone and is just biding his time before he escapes. We really need the Snyder Cut to be a success so we can restore the Snyder-Verse and see his true vision for all these characters. Plus that Deathstroke vs Batfleck project sounds pretty epic as well.

You need to watch the hallway fight scene of Battinson. He was just walking into heavy machine gun fire, not stopping. The only light in that scene was provided when a thug was randomly firing his gun. And that, coupled with shouts of 'I can't see him' truly made Batman feel like an unstoppable monster

What makes you say he was useless. He's the one who put the team together and had the idea of bringing Superman back. He was also good at fighting like no other human could be. Being the weakest doesn't mean being useless.

There are numerous things I love about Batfleck's character development from here to ZSJL: 1. Pay attention to him, he listens to his teams, he lets them brainstrom, and I like the subtle nod Diana and Bruce did as if they knew this team is going to work well. 2. His reliance to faith than reason. He was obsessed with hatred, fear, rage, and suffering in BvS which made him a different character (which was the point of the movie), here you can see he is motivated in saving the world like he was in his early years. 3. His words are rather inspiring than saddening. He motivates his teams and boosts their confidence. He is selfless and caring. 4. The way Ben Affleck delivers his performance as Bruce Wayne is very elegant and badass. I can say, this movie fleshes out the Bruce Wayne side than Batman. It's given that Ben can flawlessly played both sides, but Bruce Wayne is one way to show the character progresses and it is also one way to appreciate his character arc from BvS to ZSJL.
CU Movie Buff We’ll see him. The problem was that idiots complained about Batman being too dark in this film so they tried to make him a bit more comedic in justice League which ruined it. If people realises how good the BvS Batman was then I imagine Justice League going much better

Honestly around the fifth time watching it I had an “aha!” Moment with lex and that he is so small and helpless and his father abused him horribly which caused him to naturally hate anything that had “superiority” over him (like when the senator denied his shipment into the US) and so naturally Superman and Batman would be individuals that he’d naturally hate. It’s not about him being weird or crazy but about him trying to prove to the world that his mind and intellect could defeat the two strongest beings on earth.
Lex is playing crazed to keep from a harsher sentence but also is now under darkseids influence... I think Jesse played this scene perfectly with all those things in the characters demeanor as the DC movies go on i expect we'll see lex get colder and more brutal

What's great about DC's Extended Universe is its non linear storytelling. Each movie has a story arc of its own but a bigger story arc expands throughout the movies (Snyder said he saw MoS, BvS and JL as a trilogy). And then movies like Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad are complementary. This allows for the characters to actually evolve. Superman didn't know what it meant to be Superman, but I bet he will after his rebirth. Batman had lost hope in humanity (which is why he kills and is shown as angrier than he's ever been) but Superman restored that faith. And Lex has been confronted to his failures and if we see him again in this Universe (and I bet we will), he will be much closer to the cold villain we see in the comics. Give the characters a chance guys. Great ending by the way, very cinematic
That could be true. The problem is just inconsistancy and lack of setup. BVS was the kind of thing that should have had a Batman movie before it. Flash and Aquaman should have come before Justice League. Suicide Squad was just...a bad movie. Now what they're doing is just awful and confusing - they're obviously going ahead with Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam, but every other character, plotline, or cliff hanger is now in question and it's unsure whether they will be cancelled, whether they will go ahead, or whether they will be rebooted with new actors.
I actually like this Lex. The reason is this isn't a fully developed Lex Luthor, it's his origin story. Lex Luthor in the comics started out the same way Eisenberg portrayed him, a smart, know-it-all, scientist, wimp. It was only later that Lex Luthor became LEX LUTHOR. Honestly, it's just the promise of good character development that makes me enjoy this Luthor in the long run. Besides, he just killed Superman, and bragged about it in Batman's face, he even gets away with it by putting up a fake insanity persona just to sell the "I wasn't in the right state of mind." card. He might not be the Lex Luthor we wanted, but he is the foundation of a great one. So long as the fanboys don't Jar Jar Binks him.

Having just rewatched the Theatrical Cut of BvS for the first time since 2016, it's insane just how much important stuff is removed. That "Who would believe me, I'm insane" line is perfect at showing just how easily Luthor can manipulate everyone and is just biding his time before he escapes. We really need the Snyder Cut to be a success so we can restore the Snyder-Verse and see his true vision for all these characters. Plus that Deathstroke vs Batfleck project sounds pretty epic as well.

The shear look of fear in Lex’s eyes is great. Because he knows that if he gets sent to Arkham, he won’t be treated with kindness and compassion like in other mental health facilities. There are numerous things I love about Batfleck's character development from here to ZSJL:
1. Pay attention to him, he listens to his teams, he lets them brainstrom, and I like the subtle nod Diana and Bruce did as if they knew this team is going to work well.
2. His reliance to faith than reason. He was obsessed with hatred, fear, rage, and suffering in BvS which made him a different character (which was the point of the movie), here you can see he is motivated in saving the world like he was in his early years.
3. His words are rather inspiring than saddening. He motivates his teams and boosts their confidence. He is selfless and caring.
4. The way Ben Affleck delivers his performance as Bruce Wayne is very elegant and badass. I can say, this movie fleshes out the Bruce Wayne side than Batman. It's given that Ben can flawlessly played both sides, but Bruce Wayne is one way to show the character progresses and it is also one way to appreciate his character arc from BvS to ZSJL.

CU Movie Buff We’ll see him. The problem was that idiots complained about Batman being too dark in this film so they tried to make him a bit more comedic in justice League which ruined it. If people realises how good the BvS Batman was then I imagine Justice League going much better

Honestly around the fifth time watching it I had an “aha!” Moment with lex and that he is so small and helpless and his father abused him horribly which caused him to naturally hate anything that had “superiority” over him (like when the senator denied his shipment into the US) and so naturally Superman and Batman would be individuals that he’d naturally hate. It’s not about him being weird or crazy but about him trying to prove to the world that his mind and intellect could defeat the two strongest beings on earth.

Lex is playing crazed to keep from a harsher sentence but also is now under darkseids influence... I think Jesse played this scene perfectly with all those things in the characters demeanor as the DC movies go on i expect we'll see lex get colder and more brutal

Affleck really is the best on screen batman we've ever seen surely? How can anybody say bale was a better batman? Affleck nails the role perfectly and is so intimidating its amazing!

To me, he's the perfect example of Anti-Hero. He does what he does because he thinks it's right, not because it's "universally right". Joker once said that Batman, if he ever losed it and killed him, wouldn't be so different from him after all.

What's great about DC's Extended Universe is its non linear storytelling. Each movie has a story arc of its own but a bigger story arc expands throughout the movies (Snyder said he saw MoS, BvS and JL as a trilogy). And then movies like Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad are complementary. This allows for the characters to actually evolve. Superman didn't know what it meant to be Superman, but I bet he will after his rebirth. Batman had lost hope in humanity (which is why he kills and is shown as angrier than he's ever been) but Superman restored that faith. And Lex has been confronted to his failures and if we see him again in this Universe (and I bet we will), he will be much closer to the cold villain we see in the comics. Give the characters a chance guys. Great ending by the way, very cinematic
That could be true. The problem is just inconsistancy and lack of setup. BVS was the kind of thing that should have had a Batman movie before it. Flash and Aquaman should have come before Justice League. Suicide Squad was just...a bad movie. Now what they're doing is just awful and confusing - they're obviously going ahead with Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam, but every other character, plotline, or cliff hanger is now in question and it's unsure whether they will be cancelled, whether they will go ahead, or whether they will be rebooted with new actors.

I actually like this Lex. The reason is this isn't a fully developed Lex Luthor, it's his origin story. Lex Luthor in the comics started out the same way Eisenberg portrayed him, a smart, know-it-all, scientist, wimp. It was only later that Lex Luthor became LEX LUTHOR. Honestly, it's just the promise of good character development that makes me enjoy this Luthor in the long run.
Besides, he just killed Superman, and bragged about it in Batman's face, he even gets away with it by putting up a fake insanity persona just to sell the "I wasn't in the right state of mind." card.
He might not be the Lex Luthor we wanted, but he is the foundation of a great one. So long as the fanboys don't Jar Jar Binks him.
Though he also managed to not get branded by Batman, because he's the only person who would have probably deserved it
