- A massive house with a massive amount of history.. Exploring this place was very interesting, such a beautiful building with lots of personal possessions left behind and so much history here! I’ve added as much as I can find below about the history of this place and why it closed in 2016 as a nursing home..

BBC did a story on the patient records left for all to see.....So sad that these properties are left to ruin.....
When that mansion was built that’s when craftman took pride in what they built

I love this place! We do restorations of wooden flooring and every time I see this place all I can think is how fabulous I could make those floors look lol

I used yo work here. I reported the nursing home to CQC and yhey did nothing!
Such a shame this place has been further vandalised since this video was made. It’s a disgrace it’s been abandoned and hope it has a better future.
I can't believe how much was left behind when that place was closed. This was a true time capsule. The ground floor seemed perfectly preserved, but it was so sad to see as you went further up into the building there was so much graffiti and damage. I can understand why you swore when in the basement. I was watching this with my earphones in and I heard all the weird noises as well as you did 👻

With the history of this place, I'm sure the residual energy is strong. A lot of people passed through there, not to mention the nursing home folks that once resided there. Not to be a smart ass, but wonder why the rehabilitation room is in the basement. Stairs? Thank you for the info and the explore. Quite a spooky place. Take care.

The was a lift but you went in it at your own risk lol it was very old and tired. I used it a few times.
I can tell you a few stories about that place. From creepy stories to the vile staff that didn't give to monkeys about the residents

I have seen a more recent explorer's video of this building and the place has been trashed including the pool table and the nice library doors etc. Why??
I love it and it would be a perfect home for a lottery winner, a good investment.

Dreadful thing to know that peoples personal information maybe just left there laying around. So sad and angry that such a beautiful place had to close do to individuals too untrustworthy to look after some of the most vulnerable people in society. And also sick to see the scribbling fly tippers have been at work as per usual!!!! Thank you for the video all the same.

The item you could not move that looked like a plant pot was there to hold the dog leads to stop them running away there was dog bowls next to it .
It’s so strange how when he’s by the locked door that he hears those loud bangs and it also happened in the other video he made of this place!

I love watching these clips, but it sounds like your whispering half the time. I am hard of hearing and had the sound all the way up and I jump when you hear a bang or when a commercial comes on because then it's too loud!!! Please turn up your volume (voice) or talk closer to your camera Corder.

I noticed the tea kettle was plugged in, while you were there in the daytime. I watched your second episode, when you went back at night. The tea kettle was on the ping pong table.
I watched the two videos of this thread wrong way round but the kettle was deffinately moved.

Something I can't explain is if it was most recently a nursing home, why are there children's books and toys towards the end of the exploration? Especially the room with the tricycle and baby crib! That's a bit concering becaise surely they'd have all been gotten rid of because they wouldn't have been needed for nursing home residents?
Sometimes with certain conditions some of these poor souls can revert to their childhood so the toys make perfect sense !! One of the most distressing memories I have is of being in a similar venue and older women sitting cuddling dollies and speaking like infants !!
Another possible scenario is some of those rooms look like maybe a caretaker with a family or a homeless family were squatting there which does happen !!
You have to remember and it was a mental health place and alot of our clients were deluded. I worked there for a short time and it was awful. The clients didn't get the best care and they didn't pay me my last wage
Lots of money just sitting in there, I always think about what I'd take out.... LOL

WOW! What a building! So much left behind. Incredible! The vandalism I saw saddens and angers me, I genuinely don't know how these people can behave like that, with such a lack of respect, it is utterly disgraceful! Couldn't help but search for the Instagram tag that was drawn onto the pool table - which I can only assume could be the culprit of that vandalism to that stunning pool table, and possibly other parts of that house too - not naming names ... but whoever vandalized parts of that house, should be utterly disgusted with themselves, you disrespectful thugs! It was peculiar how some parts had been trashed, and some remained intact and untouched. Great video Colin, as always, I love your content! The "haunted houses" are my fave, I could watch them all day! I would love to come on an exploration with you!
I just watched the video on when you were there at night, and I definitely think someone is camped in that room with the locked door. Might be some mass murderer hiding from the cops, you could get a reward?? ✌👍🇭🇲

I cannot believe the state this place is in now. I well remember delivering a compressor here several years ago for one of their refrigerators and it looked so presentable. I didn't go too far inside though. I remember having a job trying to find this place and drove past it a couple of times. As soon as I started watching this excellent video I thought I recognized this place. Very creepy. Reminds me of a place called Crookham Court which I explored with a friend about 6 years ago before they renovated it.

I went here the other day its become so run down since then. The pianos were jammed stuck, files all removed and very derelict but everything else still remains
The conservatory place just saying seems more set up for children care not elderly lots of Disney toys little kids bike and even strollers look in to that. And even one point of the video there's like a crib

Saddens me so much to see our heritage on the cusp of being lost because of this neglect and lead theft. It's probably worse as I've viewed this a while later, but just a bit of less valuable material like EPDM or even polythene DPM as a temporary fix could save these buildings.
