Crime crippling businesses in Debe

- Fear caused by rising crime, is now crippling business in the bustling Debe community in South Trinidad.
Business owners say within the past year, the area has been hit with weekly home invasions, burglaries, armed robberies, car larceny and petty theft.
And although they've implemented robust security systems, they say criminals seem to be one step ahead of the police.
Our team of Radhica De Silva and Ivan Toolsie spoke to residents for this story.
As long as black parents keep repeating this mantra to their children: "Indian ha plenty money and gold", "Chinee getting help from the Chinese Association" and "White man owe we restitution for slavery", this situation unfortunately,will continue.
As black people we refuse to see that these people work their fingers to the bone and yes, with support from their respective communities.
These people don't put carnival costume before education.
These people put family life as priority.
These people owe us NOTHING.
Yet we wonder why we're still at the bottom of the barrel all over the world?
Black people are just making peoples lives miserable especially if they lve6in close proximity to them.

The reparations from whites I have head which is true because blacks were never compensated for slavery but the slave master and everyone else got reparations for slaves. I head that Chinese help each other and get loans but black parents do not tell their kids to rob others. Tf? Black parents did not tell their children anything about Indians other than not to trust them and help our own like the Indians help each other. You're not black.

What citizens in Trinidad need is the right to carry firearms, all the criminals have them anyways, you don’t think criminal would think twice knowing law abiding citizens might be armed?
How the hell a criminal government going to arm innocent people
When someone commits a murder a Trinidad, you will see the same person back on the streets, the whole judiciary needs to be fixed. Too much corruption in high places.
They need to fight for Mr Gary Griffith and bring him back to head the police departments in Trinidad and Tobago.
Why can't they make them wear an ankle monitor if they are to get bail. Let them pay to maintain the ankle monitor. If you commit a crime and you want to be out on bail, you have to wear and ankle monitor and pay for it. If you out on bail and you commit a crime you have to stay in jail. No bail. There are solutions the Government is a big part of the problem. They pick every dumb idea America has but, the good ideas they leave those alone. Smh

Those bandits have no fear for police services. When police arrested them and they got bail. Who the bandits will be coming the police officers.

Every store owner and businesses should carry a gun. Even law citizen should carry gun to protect there family them self from this bad thugs who don't care about anything. If there where good police commissioner who can clean up Trinidad this wouldn't happen. I live in Florida people carry gun in the state with conceal weapon license. I think that Trinidad should do the same if you clean back ground and not been arrested with a felony you should have concealed weapons license. I carry weapon to protect my family and bossiness. That what Trinidad should the same as Florida
