I have not watched any of the April Fools videos at this point and it took me second to realize you were commenting on a gag. That being said though I have to say however that I find it fascinating. There were a fair amount of valid points. I believe that a lot of people might actually subscribe to such a service sans the grumpy teenager/roadie part. If such a program existed, considering the soaring price of guitars, it might actually provide a cost effective value for a lot of people. If nothing more than to have experience with a variety of guitars to determine which one fits them best. Of course the price of such a service would be the determining factor perhaps with different price tiers that would correspond with the different levels of the equipment. A Squier tier at $19.99/mo, a MIM tier at $39.99/mo and a MIUSA tier at 74.99/mo all priced accordingly.... hmmmm....I think I spent too long thinking about this.... time to find something less cerebral.... where are those kitten videos??? LOL. Thanks for sharing.
There are so many great guitars being manufactured today. Guitars are incredibly cheap to mass produce. Fender, Gibson and others are cutting corners to make themselves more competitive and the quality control has dropped off. The loaners are probably returns.
