Hi, based on our review of the scientific literature, there is limited data looking at the comparison between SOD derived from micro algae and the combination of aronia and melon pulp extracts regarding SOD production. However, marine based SOD extracts have been shown in the scientific literature to work on multiple antioxidant enzyme pathways in order to modulate against oxidative stress. If you would like to discuss your question in more detail, we would suggest speaking to one of our highly-trained wellness specialists at 1-800-226-2370 or via email at wellness@lifeextension.com.
This seems like it might get more hits for people looking to mitigate GST and SOD polymorphisms as this was just what I've been digging for to upregulate both.
Hi Dr Smith! Thank you for this video. Question-I recently started taking a Calcium D Glucarate supplement that has 20mcg of Superoxide Dismutase and 20mcg of Catalase. When I take this specific Cal-D I feel fantastic! I’m energized, my skin even looks brighter and is glowing, I have energy, I have an elevated mood and I recover faster in my workouts. I thought it was the Cal-D and when I tried another Cal-D that didn’t have the SOD and Catalase I didn’t feel the same. I went back to the one that does and I feel fantastic again. My question is-what is happening with the SOD and the Catalase that is making me feel so sharp, energized and elevated? And in SUCH a small amount of 20mcg…not even mg…mcg. Can you please explain the science behind what’s happening with this so I can better understand what it’s doing in my body at such a tiny dose to make me feel so significantly better? Thank you!
Hi, these anthocyanins are similar to the ones in bilberries and wild blueberries. Anthocyanins are a group of water-soluble pigments responsible for the red, purple, and blue colors in various fruits, including chokeberries, bilberries, and wild blueberries. While there may be some slight differences in the specific types and concentrations of anthocyanins among these berries, they all share similar properties and health benefits.
Thank you for your feedback. Inactive ingredients (excipients) play a number of essential roles in the manufacturing process including: Achieving uniform density for accurate dosing. Protecting active ingredients from rapid inactivation due to heat and moisture. Sustaining the release of active ingredients into the body over time. Excipients are critical for the manufacture of quality formulations. We choose these extra ingredients with great care and use them as sparingly as possible.
Many people are using Micro Algae for SOD. How do they compare to this ?

Wow!.....surprised you don't have more subs
I wish you guys wouldn't add so many fillers in your supplement capsules and I would buy them or offer pure powder
