One of my favorite things to find out after watching this musical was that Curt Mega was NOT a made-up name of a badass spy, the actor just - has that name - and that is hilarious to me
It was literally in our faces the whole goddamn time!! Curt kept saying “partner” but they told us in the first 5 minutes that they worked for different agencies (Curt for the americans and Owen was a brit through and through)!! There was no “business” meaning of the word. The word choice was spot on and it’s pretty weird that Cynthia didn’t constantly remark on it. I mean, she loved Owen, too, sure, but Curt’s brokenness was so much deeper than losing a “close friend”. But then again, he probably didnt say “partner” to her so idk lol
I love how this is 11 minutes of the single gayest musical to ever be written (and that’s a high bar), then 30 seconds of clips from other productions 😂😂😂
I know the has very little relevance to the topic of this video (and is also super obvious), but I just realised that Curt changing the bomb timer from 6 minutes to 3 is a reference to the Bond film: GoldenEye!
Well it is a direct James Bond parody. Every trope they used and/or flipped on its head was straight out of a Bond movie. The opening scene where Oleg tried to hit him in the balls but failed is a parody of Casino Royale. And the femme fatale being the red herring love interest was playing off audience expectation because of spy movies like Bond. (Plus the line “drink martinis and drive again”.) All reasons why SAF is potentially the greatest musical I’ve ever seen. I hope beyond hope they perform it live again. I’d pay copious amounts of money to see it
“A home with a refrigerator. A girlfriend with a boyfriend.” is one of my favorite lines in anything
"Onstage gay sword fight" is an incredibly redundant phrase and I'm here for it
every gay sword fight I've had has been offstage. Oh wait, there was that stage combat seminar I took. nvm.

I hope it's not just me, but Joey Richter with an English accent is basically Andrew Garfield.
TRUE TRUE TRUE???
Yep.
"Barb, you having a stroke?" just has the perfect cadence to it for some reason

"empty chairs at empty tables" had me rolling
HAD ME SOBBING.
Curt played this so goddamn hard, I have come to think he is irl in love with Joey Richter
who isnt tbh
Hoping this is a joke, but also, who isn't
I'm a lesbian but I am also in love with him
Spies are Forever is the definition of gay wrongs. Love loses

now that i’m thinking about it…. so much of Spies are Forever is like GoldenEye, like a LOT

Also I haven’t seen that Bond movie, I didn’t catch that reference! Very cool
I thought the ending out of context would be fine but no, of course, I still teared up, should’ve seen it coming
9:58 i think his line of thinking is that since everyone's secret would be out, no one would care about his queerness
the empty chairs at empty tables wrecked meee😭
God I forgot how much I love this musical
I did not know spies are forever was gay wowie that's cool
the 30 seconds of non spy’s content at the end is great
4:32 wait how did i NEVER actually catch any of this
Same. Even Though I'm Straight. And Not Gay.
I can't believe Ex-Vloggers predicted current Shane Dawson
I hope you get to perform I Guess We're Doing This sometime! If you still need a curt, I'll apply for it :P
Me (if I were OP): ...I guess we're doing this?
