As a drummer who has never played with mics, but is learning I say always let the sound guy do his job and be ready to take advice. I did think always ask him what he thinks sounds great, but I don't know about. Is this a good approach If you're not experienced with mics ? I was thinking Don't touch the mics, and be ready to learn and mimic what they do to be great at micing and mixing too
@@DavidHall-zo8eg this is a great approach. Additionally you can ask them why they approach engineering the way they do. You can get a lot of information. 💯

Buddy Rich never practiced.
He played a lot of concerts each week.
Essentially, that is practice depending on if the player is experimental. And he did practice with the band.
