I bought this several months ago, it’s very cool. I was hoping it would remain my little secret! However, in seriousness, it’s better for people to know about this company and support them - I can’t wait to see what they develop next.
Now that ypu bring up the name, I have a 15 year old original Rockbox Boiling Point that is equally as versatile and impressive. I know it's not the same but it's an awesome effects pedal.
@@rocket69218 The crackle on the gain pot is always a bit of a giveaway. The tone control might be different, something similar to a RAT rather than the Big Muff.
9:58 sounds like the drive actually changes the bias of one or more of the MOSFETs . That crackle/staticky sound when you adjust it is indicative of that. I can tell you are really inspired by this pedal-definitely some of your best playing IMHO.
Just got one because my wife is awesome and saw me looking at it and ordered without me knowing. I have to admit, this pedal is just awesome! Really a solid OD and making its way onto my board for sure.
I have been using this pedal as my only drive for the last year, I love the switch for changing the bass response, I can leave the other knobs alone and just reach down and move that switch when changing from humbuckers to single coils to p90's. Glad you're giving these some love, my bandmates call it the orange door stop but I don't give a hoot cause it sounds so good. Used to keep three different dives on my board to handle the switching between different pickups, not anymore.
I thought "perfect" sound. Exactly what I been looking for... then you turned it on. Trying really hard not to say "flat rat". Think I'm just not a fizz fan. The BOX is gorgeous.
I have to say! Pretty sure Josh is using a digital modeler for this video judging by the amount of volume from the pedal he’s using… I do the same with my Boss ir-2 but into a valve amp… the harmonix and tone are juste even better when cranked pass 12 ❤ cheers
"Buzzwords" stinger should feature a bendy fuzz lead line into a chord. Super fast tremolo should kick in when the chord hits, and the vocal should come through a talk box.
Mike and Simon, doing Canada proud! Thanks for showcasing this great sounding pedal, Josh. It really seemed to inspire some great playing from you. Looking forward to seeing what Fish comes up with in the future.
I have this pedal on my board for a year or so now, I play it live and it is awesome. The case is so cool, in itself it’s a beautiful design product, the thing will last forever. Anyway, great pedal, good to see this brand having the recognition it deserves
@@fishcircuits Great effect box. (Wah wahs are pedals). Next time I win a poker tournament, and am pay day rich , l'll get one. Of all the Fet circuits I've heard yours sounds more like tubes. Lots , pretty much get the basic tone of tubes down, but there's a liveliness here that's missing in others . Good job.
I built a similar (not nearly as nice cleaned up, waaaay too bright when you bypass the Fuzz diodes) 3 FET with 2 different Diode choices and bypass on my version of the B/N switch. My Diodes were an old Red LED on one side, bypass in the middle, TS-808 Style Clipping diodes on the other. My Fuzz is glitchier and the "Clean Boost" is a bit squeaky...this is exactly what I was aiming at, good bye $250
Just this minute ordered my Fish Circuits Model One - Overdrive...from Axe...and You Shall Receive Inc. Canada. I've been waiting 3 weeks for them to get some in...hurry though if you want one they only have 12 in, well 11 now but not for long. Whoopi fookin doo.
These pedal companies make the same damn overdrives, distortions and fuzzes over and over and over, with overdrives being the worst offender. It's actually offensive that any guitar player would pay over 80 bucks for an overdrive pedal. And i get why you'd want one and even need one, my guitar style calls for it, but how many can you make? How MUCH MORE TRANSPARENT CAN IT BE?? To the point It's literally your signal with a volume gain....seriously.... Ohhh listen to that tiny crunch oh my god, I'm ready to play SXSW and oh man, i need 9 clean boosts NOW!!! NEED IT! all you have to do for a clean boost? Use a delay pedal and a phaser, depress a wah wah fully, theres your boost. Shut up and play damnit. I love my Boss SD1 and I've tried almost every single overdrive out there....these absolute hucksters. Dont feed into it Josh. If someone sends you one more overdrive, they must be neutered. ALSO, Fuzz.... There's really only four distinct fuzz Sounds, the rest are copies or sounds unto themselves that missed the mark and became their own things: the four are, a snotty Mosrite fuzz (my favorite), thick Big Muff grunge, the Tonebender's cold steel crunch, and the Fuzz Face's hardcore versatility, piercing highs & nasty bottoms....everything else is a copy of a copy of a copy (to quote NIN).
Adore the new (?) Tele Thinline-style guitar. Okay, okay … this pedal is cool also, but I am used to that on your site 🤓😉☺️. I will take one of each, please. 🎸👨🏼⚕️🎸. 🫶✌️♾️
I had a nice chat with the maker at the Deli KnobCon in the place downtown on Balmoral near St. Catherine, a few years ago. Nice fella, and certainly earnest about his pedal. I found the pedal itself adequate, but not a lot more. It has had a prominent display on the Steve's Music website, but the fellow has not come up with anything subsequent, it would seem. He has clearly sunk money into this, given his non-use of powder-coated enclosures from Tayda or wherever, and custom enclosure. So I wish him well. But he needs to go beyond a single pedal if he's to have any lasting presence.
@@markhammer643 Yeah, I can't hate on someone for trying to market their wares. I had aspirations of my own pedals a while ago and putting these together can be a bit of a headache. From drilling to printing there's a lot of equipment and time to invest.

@@terryenglish7132 It can be, I suppose. The folks who make the Jangle Box haven't ever really come up with anything that wasn't merely a Jangle Box with a mod. Do you have some kind of deal with the og creator to not make a Mosstortion style pedal? Hit us with a Moss into Morning Glory. Call it Blue Moss. Also if you could make me a Big Muff with all the Fuzz Factory controls. Kthnx.
Interesting. I have unsuccessfully chased what I call a “moderate distortion” tone, with scooped mids and plenty of low end, for years. It seems every Overdrive and Distortion pedal I’ve tried, pushes my tone to the treble side. I’m not giggling, so I don’t need to cut thru a drum kit and bass line when I play. I like a low end guar tone, so I LOVE mm Muffuletta, but I’m looking for a borderline OD/Distortion tone with that amount of low end.
Sounds great! I swear I heard Talk Talk, "Spirit of Eden" in your playing after switching to the "n" mode. Has that album made "Record Time?" I figure you must have listened to that album. Just in case you haven't, you should. :) Thanks man!
loved the hard chromed intro jam - so that's wot a distortion pedal does? - excellent. nice to see the bright shiny new custom guitar hadn't been dragged through a swamp by an Abrams Tank, then passed through the bowels of a gator. so go to the voodoo that you do, so well!!!
That sounds great! Would love to see a weird guitar/wiring rundown of all the cool guitars you have collected! So curious what the different switch/sound options are on these guitars!

It really does have a mixture of sounds, upper mids are very Klonny to me, but it's got more of the sticky sweetness of some other ODs like how I run a Blues Driver.
... Love it, Josh (& one of the reasons I like watching your UA-cam segments is that you're willing to acknowledge other designer/builders in your business without bias) Yes, the Fish is great but as a guy who plays out almost every week (& has been doing it since the 70s) & who has finally settled on a sound & amp/FX setup that works for most everything I do.... I have to say, of all the stomp ODs/etc that I have & have used over the years, it is your Morning Glory that I use exclusively with my Marshall 40-C 112 combo. The (JHS) MG that I have has the footswitch option (blue to red) & as an "always on" OD unit that is used in conjunction with the Marshall set to edge of breakup? This is by far the sound I have been looking for. With your pedal (& that amp), it works for everything. I like the demo you've done with the Fish but I've become so used to the footswitch option I cannot even consider any other OD pedal if it doesn't have one (even if it is this Fish OD) If it did? I would buy one now. As far as I know, You're the only one doing this.
Unpopular opinion: I miss the days when you focused more on full videos than live streams 🤷♂️
I think live streams just fill the gap in between videos. Josh is running a business as well as a UA-cam channel remember.

It sounds better with a valve amp also
Their second pedal made is a fuzz called the Lunatique, and it's mental, lol...
Time to hit reverb before resellers mark it up %1000
Fish Circuits are from Montreal Quebec Canada Josh! Great Pedals 💥👍🏻
I love that Custom Tele Josh. It’s great getting to see it again after all these years. It appears that nitro finish has aged wonderfully.
I need a money tree on my backyard. This pedal sounds great.
It reminds me of a Box of Rock... and from the circuit description and that crackly drive knob, I'm guessing it is something like a modded BOR?

250 bucks for an overdrive pedal when you've already told us how simple and generic they are. How much do they cost to make? Waaay overpriced.
